Looks like Love Island producers have announced that participants' social media will be locked whilst the programme airs. (Looking for reliable source, so far I can only find tabloid stories).
I hope it's true, I think it's needed.

I know - it's sadly so predictable the way people vote. It was so obvious that Gemma would dump Luca the minute she was "free". I don't think Ron and Lana will go the distance. Ron seems too excited at the real and prospective attention he's getting and he will fail at the first test

Basic girls, essentially.

There was a lot of criticism in past years that the Fiat 500 demographic was favouring the white, caucasian (boring) contestants at the detriment of the more interesting minorities.

I wonder how long Jessie can keep the whole being interested in Will thing going? I liked how the new "bomb shell" had a pair of shorts on too.

I like Tanya and Shaq but he seems a lot more invested. Similarly with Taynyel and Kai.

I have to say I can’t see Tanyel’s appeal either. She is similarish to Ekin Su but ES was way better looking and was fun. She was the only reason I stayed watching last year really.

But I do think Ron is the most attractive guy in there.

what is it that makes these more authentic? I can’t see any difference between these couples and others apart from the fact they are both black? What do you mean by authentic?

I don't know why people are perpetuating this 'Will is funny' myth. His humour appears to consist of performing a series of robotic dance moves at odd moments. 🤔Anyway, Jessie. A generous appearance fee has done the trick there I reckon.

Ron's kid in a sweet shop approach looks set to be his downfall. Better to have focused on one girl and finish that if either wasn't feeling it.

Kai. Is he a very handsome cardboard cut-out? Zero personality.

I hated how Ron “teased” Lana about what a catch he is. 🙄 I would like to see her branch out I don’t think she realises that she’s the catch!

I don’t dislike Tanya but her eyelashes are utterly ridiculous. I do agree though that she looks like a little girl though obviously she isn’t!

I don‘t like Zara and she IS aggressive. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with her sounding “Top Boy” but I think the point being made is that she was faking some sort of other accent when she went in and boy does it slip when she’s annoyed on one. I don’t understand why Tom hasn’t run a million she’s unpleasant and possessive and that’s a terrible recipe for a relationship outside.

Tanyel is quite boring and the way she says “keryewt” every 5 minutes to Kai (who I find a bit gormless tbh) is really irritating!

Kai and tanyel = boring/bland
lana and Ron = ok but bit boring/don’t have many laughs
tanya and shaq = ok but a bit cringey
will and Jessie = totally cringey, hands over eyes when I watch them
aaron = bland
tom and Zara = he’s scared of looking bad if he admits he prefers Olivia because he’s scared of Zara. Zero chemistry.
olivia and haris - had the most fun and chemistry but he was a bit young and not great at deeper conversation and finding out more about her.
olivia and new boy, can’t remember his name - not sure tbh, not feeling it.
kai and ana may - boring/bland
ron and Ellie - think he will turn

I think Tanyel is bland and boring as f*ck tbh. Yeah there is a teeny tiny similarity to Ekin-Su, probably the hair though, coz if you dyed her hair black and give her a pixie cut, she would look nothing like Ekin-Su at all. I actually like Ekin-Su a LOT and think she's gorgeous!

Can't stand Zara, she is quite aggressive and not likeable at all. She is a strong 8 out of 10 when made up, but drops to a 5 with no make up on. Don't like Olivia either. Attention seeking, whiny, and very childish for someone 2 or 3 years off her 30s.

Glad it's not just me who feels the ick with Will and Jessie. Seems quite fake to me, and I don't buy it at all. Like a pp, it gives me the collywobbles when they smooch. Like another pp said, Jessie is going to have to be a VERY good actress to keep up this act. Will is very odd and not remotely physically appealing.

None of the men do anything for me tbh. Ron is OK, Kai is a bit 'meh' and not super super handsome as one of the girls described him. Shaq is probably the most appealing to me. (Looks wise, and he seems quite nice too.) Haris was awful IMO. Was not sorry to see Haris go. OR Anna-May.. Both annoying and basic.

Re the girls. The best one IMO (physically) is Lana IMO. She is a 9 out of 10. Seems nice too.

Indiyah and Dami are still together whilst Gemma split with Luca as soon as she had her clothing deals agreed.

I don't think race comes into it, more longevity of relationship.

yes I agree re Indiya and dami (also Paige and fin, Molly and Tommy etc) but you can’t possibly know that Tanya and shaq are authentic at this stage can you?

Tom does not prefer Olivia. In fact it would be easier for him to dump Zara if he wanted to. He would just say that she is ‘aggressive’ which seems to be the most common word used to describe her. Furthermore, Tom was given the green light by Ron to pursue Olivia and he still wasn’t interested.
Tbh, I think he is more into Zara than she is into him. He just didn’t want to upset Olivia.

Tom's task of choosing the ideal face, body and personality of the girls is purely designed to get him into trouble big time.

Unless he chose Zara for all three (he can't) he's screwed !

Interesting conflict between what they showed last night about tonight's show between Lana and Ron (the triangle conversation) then just seeing the first look conversation between them.

Tom is such an idiot. He could have easily avoided that huge trap by simply not picking Olivia for anything.

Lemonande and Lampzade you have a real problem with Zara being called aggressive. She IS aggressive (verbally) and not pleasant. It's got absolutely nothing to do with the colour of her skin, everything to do with her actions and words. There have been plenty aggressive girls/boys over the seasons of all skin colours.

I also find the Fiat 500 girl comments pretty low. Because my niece is white she can be called basic, what's a black basic girl called? Or my nephew who's mixed race? Can he be basic?

I’m not sure why “Karen” is broadly considered a slur on mumsnet but it’s fine to dismiss young women as “fiat 500 girls”?

I've never heard of a Fiat 500.girl, or being called basic. But I'm a middle-aged Scot, not a cool, young, Laandan thing. I do have 2 very cool teen DS- I should ask them.

I think Tom is attracted to Ellie. Or maybe he's just being polite again?!
