Looks like Love Island producers have announced that participants' social media will be locked whilst the programme airs. (Looking for reliable source, so far I can only find tabloid stories).
I hope it's true, I think it's needed.

Regarding Will being blonde, for me it's not that and in previous series. Its the fact that the really blonde guys are not good looking at all. Below average.

Don't get how Harris got chosen..

It's all about the order they choose. Olivia had already lost Kai and Tom as she chose after Ana and Zara.

The only other person she had shown interest in was Haris so he was chosen by default.

Same with Tanyeh choosing after Ana. She had only ever expressed interest in Kai or Ron. So Ron was the default choise.

The producers know the order of picking is vital for drama

I was just thinking that this series feels quite different in terms of race. It doesn't seem to have the same problems (so far) that previous series have had.

I think the producers made sure that they brought men into the villa who prefer Black girls, so Tanya hasn't been seen to be rejected (yet). Much better casting this series, I guess.

It was interesting that, when Olivia drew aside the girls to complain about Zara's two faced comment in the challenge, the girls split into white/Black groups. Not saying Olivia was deliberately excluding the Black/mixed race girls (as she was annoyed with one of them!) but it's interesting that Zara's support came from the other girl who's from an ethnic minority group. I think it reflects the experiences of the girls IRL and who they turn to for support ("people like us").

Yes, totally scripted I'm guessing. They've seen the low viewing figures.

Agree about the sunglasses this season. Quite unattractive. I'm actually still keeping an eye out for dupes of Gemma's but no luck. 😎

I wish they'd ban them from wearing sunglasses inside, as they're so annoying, especially first thing when they wake up!

I thought the reason why they wear sunglasses when they wake up is because the lighting is so bright?

Olivia at 27 and Zara 25 saying neither have had a relationship surprised me a little.
Though depends what their definition of a relationship is. I would assume its dating the same person for several months ? Or 6 months no ?
Obviously in this day and age 3 dates isn't exactly exclusive.

More for the fact they are both very good looking great bodies and confident and not exactly crazy.
I'm sure since school they would have had attention lots.

So neither having a boyfriend even short term. Not sure it seems believable. But refreshing.

I would get the impression both have done the whole dating a guy for many months thing lots. Going to fancy restaurants and exclusive bars and clubs and the like (helps with the content on social media) but just never made it official.

Me neither. I’ve just been reading an account from an ‘influencer’ about the whole process. Lots of interviews videos etc, she didn’t make the cut. How the hell did Harris impress them. He’s got nothing about him. Bland!

I think the boys are terrible this year both in looks and personality, the girls are well out of their league! I’d dread to see the ones who didn’t make the cut 😂

Girls- Olivia is pretty and energetic, Tanya is annoying, zara looked pretty on the first day ( I don't know what happened to her) she looks old and has terrible skin.Lana BORING. Old cellulite bum Tanyel thinks all the boys should think she is irresistible!! No.

Just watched First Look. Will really is as camp as Christmas.

I don't think Jessie was interested in him. Seemed to be a polite set up producer chat to me.

I genuinely feel Will will meet his person. It's just unlikely to be anyone who has applied for Love Island.

The First Look with Jessie (?) gave me more kind,older sister vibes rather than potential romance

Opposite of genuine..I find Will quite fake and not likeable.

I’m checking in! I’m all caught up on the first week in one day and hopefully I’ll be able to watch in real ish time now.

Thoughts so far.

I like Lana and Ron and Tanyel stealing Ron was a fruitless enterprise. He’ll probs sleep on the daybed. And why does Tanyel remind me of an Ekin-Su/ Anna Vikalli? mash up.

I was a bit surprised Tanya chose Shaq, although that’s who u would have chosen, she seemed to be swaying towards David. I’m not sure she’ll stick with Shaq, her head can be turned.

No one likes Kai more than he likes himself. Anna Mae will get hurt there.

Tom reminds me of Jordan North. Not sure about Zara.

Olivia and Harris are cute but won’t work long term I don’t think. He’s sweet in his desire to be taken seriously though.
