Looks like Love Island producers have announced that participants' social media will be locked whilst the programme airs. (Looking for reliable source, so far I can only find tabloid stories).
I hope it's true, I think it's needed.

Wow, awesome first recoupling! Literally didn’t know who was gonna pick who. I actually think this season is a bit of a welcome break from the norm. Now two more newbies!

Throwing a tantrum cos a boy she'd known 2 days spoke to someone else. Then smirking when she picked someone elses couple, when he's already said he's into Lana only? She's got an overinflated ego, if he wanted her he'd have had her.

Enjoyed tonight! The decoupling wasn't predictable and that kept it interesting!

Tanyel and Zara are likely going to be booted to one side for the new girl and show interest in the new lad. I suspect this decoupling will make Ron realise how much he likes Lana and they'll end up back together in the next decoupling as I just can't see Ron and Tanyel going anywhere.

They'll have to put in someone sweet and niche for will for him to stay long term.

I think Kai will move back to Tanyel next week

Poor Lana, I am glad Will stayed though, he does bring a different dynamic to the group and seems to get on with everyone. Tanya's "agonising choice" seemed very production team advised.

I quite like Olivia - she’s a bit like Faye I think and has an exterior hiding a lot of insecurity.

I liked Zara at first but I actually think she’s really unpleasant.

Haris - minus the Peaky Blinders haircut -looks a bit like one of those modelling heads for kids to practice make up. It’s the ridiculously over manicured brows I think. More eeek than fleek! Also, I strongly suspect he’s only 14. Maybe Kai can set him some homework?

I can only think of Anna May as Anime. It’s v depressing to see such a young woman with fillers and a boob job. Kai will move on definitely; I think he was just disturbed by Tanyel’s weird Fatal Attraction vibes and I can’t blame him TBF.

Will has really grown on me. He’s v v funny.

I like Lana - so far -she seems that rare beast on LI, someone who actually seems genuine, down to earth and nice. I never bought that with Liberty from 2021. I hope Ron is not just trying to stay in but so far I think he’s genuine.

Tom is OK but a bit bland with his turkey teeth.

The Australians will mix it up though they are slightly annoying me already and I’ve only seen the trailer 😬🤣

Ahhhh see I find it really refreshing when men are confident enough to break free from that herd mentality. Pretty damn sexy actually.

I’m still unsure about Olivia. She seems to play the “vulnerable little girl lost needs looking after” card quite a lot and I have a feeling it’s all an act to garner sympathy. She is an actress after all.

I really like Lana and Ron both individually and as a couple. I think they are an excellent example to young people on how to conduct yourself and navigate the beginnings of a relationship. They show emotional maturity, are both upfront and transparent with no headfuckery going on. Ron was honest with Lana that he has an interest in Zara. Lana was very gracious about it with no histrionics and let him do his thing. Ron very quickly made a decision (big boy decision 😝) to focus solely on Lana. Job done with no drama!

Aw I love Lana, she’s so precious! Tanyel is such a bitch to do that, clearly showing she’s not a girls girl. I’m not sure about Olivia, I think she might go the same way as Tanyel, I’m also not sure if she’s really 27 either! I wouldn’t put her with Haris either far too young and immature. I’m not mega impressed with the boys this year, Ron seems lovely and Shaq too, Tom is very nice to look at but that’s where it begins and ends unfortunately!

Felt sorry for David. He couldn’t even manage to put a brave face on just looked devastated. Tanya played him like a fiddle, not nice. She just wants all the boys to fancy her. Hope Shaq gets picked by the new girl to go on a date. She needs a taste of her own medicine.
I don’t think any girl is going to go for Will. Too many other pretty boys to choose from.

I feel that the production team had a bit of an influence on Tanyel's decision; I just don't think anyone would be that much of a deliberate cow. I can imagine the crew downplayed the hurt and played up the 'drama' and exposure. Or summat.

I feel for the blonds on Love Island. Are blond men just not considered an attractive aesthetic nowadays? I can't imagine that Will is anything other than popular, influential and well-liked back home.

Tanya - I can't decide if she's just playing the game well or playing the men too much.

In fairness to Tanyel she was open that Tom and Ron was her top two. I was not surprised she picked Ron after the conversation she had with him a couple nights ago.

Ron was very much keep his options open until he kissed Lana in last nights episode. And whilst he told Zara he was committed to Lana, I am not sure if he had that same conversation with Tanyel.

Tanyel is a bit of a drama Queen but I think it is unfair to call her nasty because she chose Ron . She said that Ron was one of her top two and she chose him
I do like Lana and Ron together, but I think that crying over someone she has known for less than a week is a bit over the top.

I don’t want to see people play safe, I want to be entertained and I enjoyed the recoupling because it was unpredictable

Re Tanyel/Ron - I recall one time in an earlier series where a girl chose a boy who was in a settled couple [sorry, can't remember who]. Original couple just carried on as though it hadn't happened. I hope Lara and Ron do this.

yeah I think it’s happened a couple times, one being Kem/Amber/Georgia.

also agree about the Olivia/Maura similarity but I think she’s the double of Jess off the most recent MAFS UK series!

Did Luca also not play the game when chosen by Danica last year ? Seem to recall Gemma was fine with it. The writing was always on the wall there

You’re right I don’t think he did. However Tanyel did know that Lana & Ron had kissed and that Ron had told Lans he was all in with her as it was discussed on the terrace in the girls morning debrief. She would have been better off choosing Will and then Kai would probs recouple with her at the next one. But that wouldn’t have been as entertaining.

Just had a catch up. Not keen on Tanyel, def not used to rejection, but I too feel she's been perhaps put up to this. Ron wasn't happy which actually should make Lana feel less upset.

Do like however it's starting to pick up a bit of pace, I may start watching live!
