Love Island Winter 2023 pre-series discussion

Looks like Love Island producers have announced that participants' social media will be locked whilst the programme airs. (Looking for reliable source, so far I can only find tabloid stories).
I hope it's true, I think it's needed.

I think LI twice a year may be a bit of an overkill for some.
Viewers invest a lot of time and energy in LI which last about eight weeks or so. Sixteen weeks in one year is a lot

I'm a bit bored with it all

I'm still catching up with last nights. I too am finding it boring. It's formulaic. But it always takes a few episodes to get in to.
Do you know what would be an improvement? If they put their names on the screen a lot more often.

(Another thing I've noticed is how often they're fucking. It's fucking this, and fucking that. I just find it too aggressive in the contexts of hugging or attractiveness.

I think they should do away with the initial pairings and put them all in single until the first coupling.

It would cause them to 'graft' from day one and cause a lot of interaction and flirting in order to assure they get picked

They just seem too complacent because they've watched it all play out a million times before and know what to do.

Also great idea about showing the names. Probably old age but I get too confused

I agree with all of this. They really need to mix things up much more and make it less formulaic. It’s the same challenges, same recouplings, voting out of the same type of islander season after season. It needs a massive overhaul.

Bring back the 2016 days where they were mostly there to get drunk and have a good time rather than to acquire 1m followers, a blue tick and a boohoo deal

Is it also summer romance feels more of a desire that people want, when people are freezing cold and the weathers shit do they really want to watch people in Bikinis every night for 8 weeks? And then summer LI isn't that far away

And I wonder if the winter series will have a negative impact on the summer one, as in people getting bored and not watching both? The last winter series was just before the pandemic so didn’t end up having the summer one.

Its far too staged and scripted and why is it so dull? These people have only just arrived, what's going on?

Yeah. Haris asked David. David kinda tutted and seemed to think it was bad of him to ask. Then Shaq said you are always doing this and trying to shit stir. Haris stood up and got shouty.

Ah, I thought Shaq was getting annoyed with David. That makes sense now.

The two faced thing was OTT and was always going to blow up (which is why the producers put it in there).
