William "screamed and shouted" at Harry.

1000 replies

felulageller · 15/12/2022 10:37

Ep5.
So that's the big accusation we've been waiting for.

Then a denial that he, Harry, denied William had bullied him and MM.

Denying that you denied it so implying it was true that William was bullying them?

Never liked William anyway. Hope he's never King.

The fact that it was even made says everything you need to know about the racism within the media

Danny Baker didn’t work in the media. He was a DJ. His disgraceful meme was universally called out and he got sacked. You’re attributing far too much from the action of one individual racist.

healthadvice123 · 15/12/2022 17:20

@wordler thats exactly it and many a celeb say they don't read these comments because they can be vile, made up accounts sometimes and just people there to be nasty. If I was famous I would not have twitter and the like just doesn't seem worth it.

justgettingthroughtheday · 15/12/2022 17:21

healthadvice123 · 15/12/2022 17:14

@justgettingthroughtheday why add to the thread then and you don't mind hate on other members of RF ?
I will await the apology from your accusation I didn't answer shall I ? No don't bother as you can't get that people have different opinions

I care about hate on anyone. But nobody is hating on William or Kate!

And no you didn't answer my question. I've just scrolled back through. It want clear at all what you were talking about.

SapatSea · 15/12/2022 17:21

Nottingham cottage - William, Kate and baby George managed fine in the cottage. When they moved out to a much bigger, palatial flat in Kensington palace IIRC Harry was offered the adjoining flat to theirs but said he would prefer Nottingham Cottage as it was cozy and more private. No one forced him to live there - he chose it!

"Hate on"????

Really? On a forum full of adults?

justgettingthroughtheday · 15/12/2022 17:01

Well the one with the monkey on the hospital steps was pretty damn racist

You can't have looked hard

She is talking about newspaper articles, like the only other one i can find about the 'exotic DNA'. However the article was applauding the intruduction of it to counteract Harry's pallid ginger complexion. Not acceptable really, but not intended maliciously. The monkey one you refer to was part of the despicable shite on social media and nothing to do with newspapers or TV. Unfortunately whats on social media is way in excess of anything the newspapers printed. Its SM that needs cleaning up, but people have been saying it for years.

healthadvice123 · 15/12/2022 17:22

@justgettingthroughtheday yes I did and there is posts about hate on w & k on here too and some here saying william is xyz etc , again peoples perceptions and opinions

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 15/12/2022 17:23

CPL593H · 15/12/2022 17:12

It was appallingly racist but it was on Danny Baker's Twitter account, not in the MSM. He was then (rightly) sacked by the BBC.

Danny Baker was a racist idiot to do that.

Thoughts on the cottage comments from our duke and duchess, anyone?

"As far as people were concerned we were living in a palace. [But] we were living in a cottage," Harry said. "On palace grounds," the duke added before Meghan said: " Kensington Palace sounds very regal of course, it does say palace in the name. But Nottingham Cottage was small." Harry commented: "The whole thing was really small on a slight lean with low ceilings," before he jokingly added: "Whoever lived their before must have been small." Meghan, meanwhile, revealed that her husband hit his head constantly "because he's so tall". She adds: "It was a chapter in our lives where I don't think anyone could believe what it was actually like behind-the-scenes." Harry then reveals that chat show legend Oprah came over for tea and was stunned by where they were living. "No one would ever believe it," she reportedly told the pair.

I think that's where cultural differences come into play - a lot of Americans have a Disney view of being royal /and or confuse it with A-list celebrity lifestyles which is all about the bling and the big houses.

Not old, old fashioned, dog haired draughty country houses, and inherited antique furniture which may not be your taste.

I think Meghan was offended to still be in the cottage after the marriage when she saw William and Kate with their big country home and a huge fancy apartment. What is odd to me is that Harry didn't remember that William and Kate lived in Nottingham Cottage and a small house on Anglesey for the first 2.5 years of their marriage - they were still at Nott Cott when George was born.

If they (H&M) had stuck it out for a couple of years I think the Queen (or Charles) would then have given them something much grander - and probably a lot grander than Frogmore Cottage too.

healthadvice123 · 15/12/2022 17:18

@justgettingthroughtheday your just grasping now really
And yes there is racist people in all walks of life and all professions and racism amongst many races even
But you yourself said you will always call out racism and accused people of being racist , yet didn't report a post
You can't say someone is racist because they don't like Meghan, you also have no idea of the race of the person not liking her .
I don't dislike her personally, but I think hes a bit of a spoilt brat, my opinion im allowed it.
But if you see a racist post call it , report it as thats the only way to stop it, but not by calling people racist who just dislike someone.

What rot! You have no idea if I have reported anything or not! 🤷🏻‍♀️ your utterly bonkers! I can't be bothered with your nonsense. You continue twisting your own narrative!

healthadvice123 · 15/12/2022 17:24

@ImJustMadAboutSaffron and really you needed to point that out , did it make you fee a little more superior because I typed on instead of about, glad you had your moment

PearlclutchersInc · 15/12/2022 17:25

If Harry was being a brat (as he is as an adult) I'm not surprised William shouted at him. I'm sure he shouted back.

My siblings as Nd I fought like cat and dog over the years but we still come running when the others need something.

I don't think he realises that there's a lot of dysfunctional families out there and his isn't exactly unique.

Itsthewhitehat · 15/12/2022 17:25

I don’t get the cottage bit. Were they forced to live in Nottingham Cottage?

healthadvice123 · 15/12/2022 17:26

@justgettingthroughtheday then we have something in common and which post did you report ? As surely you would also pull up the poster ? Nothing been deleted as yet and mumsnet normaly quite hot
I haven't read it all so may of missed some but i would call it if I see it and certainly report

It is 123 sq meters in size - two bed plus two bath. William and Kate lived in it for two years after their wedding (including after the birth of George). While they lived in it, they had it completely redecorated by an interior designer. Prior to them, their aunt (Diana's sister) lived there with her husband who was the Queen's private secretary. Harry moved in after Kate and William moved out. He chose to continue to live there for a few years calling it his bachelor pad. It is currently occupied by his cousin Eugenie and her husband. While the decor chosen by Will and Kate may not have been to Meghan's taste, it seems that many royals and royal staff had lived there before and after them.

healthadvice123 · 15/12/2022 17:27

@Itsthewhitehat apparently not and I mean how awful, your saying this to audiences who are maybe having to choose wether to heat or eat, maybe don't have a guaranteed roof over their head etc
Its has to be worded so carefully when your talking about things like this

LightHousePanda · 15/12/2022 17:28

justgettingthroughtheday · 15/12/2022 17:13

The fact that it was even made says everything you need to know about the racism within the media

It wasn't a meme made specifically for them though. It was just an old pic that wasn't racist in itself. It's a white couple coming down the stairs with a chimp in clothes. According to Danny Baker, he wanted to mock the royal family as circus animals in posh clothes and deleted it straight away and apologised when someone pointed out it was racist. He said he didn't think of it - I don't know why not but maybe he was forgetting that Meghan isn't white. Even if it was intended to be racist it was on his personal account and he lost his job.

I dislike lots of the British media and there is racism in tabloids but I just think this example doesn't show anything like what people use it to mean.

purpledalmation · 15/12/2022 17:28

justgettingthroughtheday · 15/12/2022 17:06

@Blossomtoes a meme that was subsequently plastered all over the papers

Not in any british newspapers that I can find. Please publish a link to support your allegations? Can I also point out its illegal in the UK to do this?

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 15/12/2022 17:12

Two people is not a "few family members". Given she managed to invite 100s of famous people she has only met a once or twice if at all and it was hardly a small wedding that is quite telling.

It's quite sad that anyone would think that classes as a good amount of family members.

Only her mother was invited. Not her uncle, niece or aunt

purpledalmation · 15/12/2022 17:32

IAmWomanHearMeRoar1 · 15/12/2022 17:15

Sigh. Google it yourself. People often have two weddings in many cultures.

People can of course say they are married when they are not, but this is not what MM said.

That is exactly what she said. They EXCHANGED VOWS. To many people, exchanging vows is the point. Not the paperwork.

I have googled it and you have had several people from the african american and australian communities saying this is total nonsense.

Really stop making things up, you are beginning to look ridiculous, and I am tired of fact checking your nonsense.

OldPosterNewUsername · 15/12/2022 17:33

It shouldn't be a race to the bottom or whatever the phrase is but honestly there is serious shit happening in our country right now like the attempted removal yesterday of our ECHR rights and yet this normal sibling behaviour is being given more attention by our ridiculous media than Jesus would get if he made an appearance right now.

RumblePhish · 15/12/2022 17:34

What a weird trapped goldfish bowl of a life. I can’t tell whether it’s reasonable to have yelled at anyone in that situation because I can’t fathom how they can live like that. On one level William has loads of control but on another he has none. And Harry’s life was the same but as number 2 (then number 5). It must be a very strange place mentally to be told you have such status but you don’t have any control of that because you didn’t earn it in the first place. And your status changes through factors outside your control. Whole thing is completely mad. We tolerate this nonsense just because there are drawbacks with every constitutional set up but so what, can’t be worse than this shambles.

purpledalmation · 15/12/2022 17:35

IAmWomanHearMeRoar1 · 15/12/2022 17:16

Yes he was, I know one of them was, it had been reported enough.

I think telling people who speak about their culture and calling it 'nonsense' simply because you weren't aware of it, is deeply insulting.

OK. What was his name then? I'll happily admit I was wrong, but all my fact checking has only turned up Doria. I'll accept a google link

Here, on this thread, an American backed me up. Read it and stop spouting your insulting and ignorant nonsense!

I agree with you on the vows thing. But I dare not mention it because it riles the haters up big time.

I think they’re ridiculous moaning about living in a beautiful cottage. Millions (myself included) would absolutely love to live in a cottage like that, with a garden, in London, on private grounds to keep them perfectly safe. They’re unbelievably out of touch. Plus, as a newly married couple surely the intimacy and privacy of a smaller home would be a big thing in its favour. Hence W&K living there, as well as Eugenie and her husband.
