William "screamed and shouted" at Harry.

Ep5.
So that's the big accusation we've been waiting for.

Then a denial that he, Harry, denied William had bullied him and MM.

Denying that you denied it so implying it was true that William was bullying them?

Never liked William anyway. Hope he's never King.

Oh it's not its the ginger man's fault for marrying someone who doesn't believe in having family ties to her own family or any other ;)

Too bad then her mother and her niece appeared in the show, disproving your lie about her not believing in having family ties. 😂

CornishGem1975 · 15/12/2022 15:23

Meghan doesn't label herself as black. She's always said she is biracial.

Seemingly, Markle always tried to exist as if she were colorless. In an essay published in Elle magazine in 2015, she said she dreaded the inevitable question she was always asked, “What are you?”

“My dad is Caucasian and my mom is African American. I’m half Black and half white,” she would answer.

She knew they wanted her to be more specific, but she could never bring herself to declare a race, which in her mind, would be like choosing between her parents. She liked being “ethnically ambiguous.” She enjoyed living in a “gray area.”

Thread is moving really quickly, but I had a go at some fact checks on the claims about people within the family trying to help and getting the cold shoulder.

The 'Camilla tried to advise Meghan' comes from Angela Levin's bio of Camilla. She is a journalist and royal biographer - and a noted critic of H&M. Apparently C noticed M struggling/looking bored and wanted to help, M having none of it. I'd take it with a pinch of salt, but I don't think anyone's ever come out and said 'that never happend, here's a libel lawsuit'.

The one about Sophie Wessex apparently came from the Queen and was reported in Gyles Brandreth's QEII biography. Apparently the Queen felt SW would be a good mentor for Meghan (with the implication that she's a woman who's been through it) but she was rebuffed, Meg preferring to rely on Harry.

Again, usual 'don't trust everything you read' applies, but I think they've got some credibility, they're not just random Reddit posts.

We know Camilla has a racist blackamoor statue in her house. Maybe there are good reasons Meghan rebuffed her?

Only watched the first 3, very subjective when you only hear one side of the story. They feel wronged, want to express their feelings which they have done. I just hope Harry & Meg remain as in love as they appear to be. As Harry has burnt his bridges by speaking out. Of course, his loyalties lie with his wife, that is understandable. But I just wonder how much of this anger, upset and dare I say it jealousy has been caused by living in William and Kate’s shadow, Meg was never going to be the star. I might well be wrong who knows.

She couldn’t even be the star of Hallmark style tv movies so why she thought she had the ability to become a Diana-like superstar is anyone’s guess.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 15/12/2022 15:24

Oh for god sake they need to get over it and do something useful with their lives. They're like children.

Fleurdaisy · 15/12/2022 15:24

I’m really, really trying to be interested in Harry, Meg, William and the rest but much as I try I really don’t give a flying fuck about any of them.

antelopevalley · 15/12/2022 15:03

I honestly find comments like this disturbing. It is not normal for adults to scream and shout at each other. If this is happening in your family then please relook at how you are behaving. Because it is not right.

I’ve had screaming matches with my sister when we were in our twenties/thirties but we’re perfectly fine. In fact the older we get the closer we get in a way we never could then.

Reading this I'm wondering how many of the 83 troll accounts are sock puppeting on this thread

I understand why they want to put their side forward, and the impact of the hate and death threats on them as real people seems totally genuine to me

But like has been previously said, there doesn't seem to be a lot of ability here to take a wholistic view of all the coverage, rather just a desire to believe all the toxic press coverage and click bait headlines

All they do is put others down. They created this before the Queen died and had the audacity to mock the traditions.Shock and horror that you would have to bow for example if you married into the royal family. With everything going on I the world people have little tolerance to those two winging about this stuff.Try living in the real world.

But that’s the thing @Same1977 , theirs is NOT the real world.

I haven't watched netflix but have read some of what they have said and don't really get the outrage. There's obviously a lot of exaggeration but everyone knows it is only one side of the argument. It’s hard to know whether there was any racism involved in her treatment but I can't help but think she would say that wouldn't she?

I can't see them as victims though when they're making so much money out of this. She certainly was unpopular with the people that work in the royal household and the fact she didn't invite any of her family to her wedding but invited loads of famous people she barely knew doesn't say much for her either.

Maybe. I didn't know about the statue, only about the brooch incident (which wasn't Camilla).

I think the question was not so much 'was Meg reasonable to refuse advice from step-MIL' and more 'did the advice offer ever happen'.

Funny though the majority of Meghans family are estranged from her, now Harry's are too. Almost like there's one common element.

So you think black and mixed race people lie about racism? Trust me; we NEVER make that accusation unless it actually happens. It's not something we ever lie about.

She had a few family members at her wedding, that lie has been debunked.

Blimey... Lied !? Obviously the statement was an assumption based on information I have.Just like you base what you think on things you know.
Calm down.

Only some of her father's side are, not the 'majority'.

Clearly you also need to read Stately Homes threads and AIBU to see how many people often need to go NC with their entire family, not just a few, as is the case with Meghan. Lucky you that you've never experienced what Meghan, and what many on Mumsnet, have. Do keep up the victim-blaming.

It’s important enough for people including you to be talking about. 😅

I think wanted to tell what happened and make some cash. Why not?

I'm not sure that a few folk discussing it on MN makes it important.

And these assumptions are nothing but nastiness and hate. Why do you think you are better than Meghan? Do you (not just you but haters of Meghan in general) ever stop to take a look at yourself? How do you even presume she is worse than you?

lamaze1 · 15/12/2022 15:37

Harry's claim to feel terrified at being shouted/screamed (whatever) at is strange as you'd have thought he experienced far more terrifying times when in the army. With that said, I know people have said he was allegedly flanked by security forces in the army though (I'm not interested enough to google whether true) so perhaps he was indeed terrified. Either way I agree with @shreddies it's all pretty pathetic.

Fleabigg · 15/12/2022 15:37

They have each other, two beautiful children and millions of pounds. My heart fucking bleeds. So life isn’t a fairytale? Well it isn’t for anyone else either so grow up. I do genuinely hope they can be happy because that feels like our only chance of being spared from more of this incessant complaining.

That's right, she has her mum and niece. Wow that's a whole load of people. I've read those threads, I also realise some people are narcissistic bullies and that's how M comes across. I'm not blinded with love for her simply because she's mixed race.

I’d go as far as two common elements because I think they fuel each other rather than one being responsible for this and the other a victim.
