You know what I mean. Woman gets an inn (left in a will/wins/buys). Goes to a quaint town. Meets attractive but annoying man blah blah.
Very cheesy but I like them! Is it too early to start watching them? I want to see them all! Anyone with me?

I have one!!! I felt it was too early to start the cheesy xmas movies but my dd & i wanted one of these movies !

I give you "holidays" on the Netflix. Quirky girl sworn off men meets hot guy who has had too many weird women - they decide to be each other's plus one at all
Major holidays/weddings etc

Just the right amount of shmaltz. Perfect not quite xmas movie season yet flick

Oh I love Holidate and because it's set throughout the year you can watch it in June. If you want a mid year Christmas fix

Raahh · 07/11/2022 10:29

she wasn’t religious (just desperate)
Grin

AlternativelyWired · 07/11/2022 10:41

I think I might have to watch one today 🎄

Tempting isn't it?🎅

AlternativelyWired · 07/11/2022 11:10

I can't find any! I've got BT and Netflix and prime.

Ineedwinenow · 07/11/2022 11:16

Another closet watcher here!

My fav is “ spirit of Christmas” a good looking ghost comes back to the inn his family own every Xmas eve, he got murdered there on Xmas eve and he comes back for 12 days every year and a city girls stays over Xmas to sell the inn as his last live family member died and fall in love 😍

RoseBucket · 07/11/2022 11:19

One which will make you sob is The Christmas Shoes. I try and watch this every year m.youtube.com/watch?v=YFviZZv1MX8

AlternativelyWired · 07/11/2022 11:20

Found them! 🎄🥰

Raahh · 07/11/2022 11:26

Alternatively enjoy.
'Deck the Halls' is still on Netflix- which makes me happy. It's daft- but i love it. Danny De Vito and Matthew Broderick arguing over Christmas decorations.
Also Nativity!- may absolute, so bad it's brilliant, Christmas guilty pleasure film (number 2 isn't on there, sadly- 3 and 4 are not worth watching!)Grin

Have a look on prime for the bishops wife or a Christmas Visitor (one version is for rent thebotherbis included). Just search Christmas and you'll find them.

Does anyone recognise one where a man or woman gets knocked off a bike and ends up in hospital/loses their memory. I think there’s a dog in it too, possibly a golden retriever ?

Teenagekicksmyass · 07/11/2022 12:52

My personal favourites are Christmas Getaway, Christmas Joy, Christmas Bells are Ringing and Christmas Around the Corner. I have them recorded but they might come up on the Christmas film channels or You Tube

SynchOrSwim · 07/11/2022 13:19

I'm reading a book at the moment called As Seen on TV, about a 20-something in NY who loves Hallmark movies and is trying to get her big break into journalism. She finds a reason to write an article about a small town and stays there for a couple of weeks. She's expecting charmingly quirky locals who are enthralled by her and handsome, intelligent single men dressed like lumberjacks but it doesn't quite live up to her expectations! Just thought sone of you might enjoy it. Bit sexier than Hallmark movies too!

diddl · 07/11/2022 13:34

I do like Miracle on 34th Street

I watched one very recently where the woman pretended to be his wife whilst he was in a coma.

A love to remember, no dogs though.

It's on prime.

This is one of my favourite 'traditional watch near Christmas' films. But it has to be the 1947 Natalie Wood version and not one of the re-makes.

Raahh · 07/11/2022 14:34

Teenage I watched 'Christmas Around the Corner' this morningGrin It's one of the ones that I start watching, and don't always realise i have seen it before until about 5 minutes in Grin

diddl · 07/11/2022 14:45

Just having a browse on Imdb & there's one called Crown for Christmas with Rupert Penry-Jones & Danica McKellar.

Looks like one of the "European Royalty" ones.

She is only 5yrs younger than him!

Ah yes-Edmund Gwenn as Kris Kringle.

the80sweregreat · 07/11/2022 14:56

It is incredibly cheesy, but I liked ' last Christmas' as it had a very good soundtrack by George Michael ( mostly )and Emilia Clark was funny.

BigFatLiar · 07/11/2022 14:59

A Christmas Carol- the version with Patrick Stewart

It rang a bell but had to Google - A Gift to Remember? She works in a bookshop.

Think it's called a Gift for Christmas

chineapplepunks · 07/11/2022 15:09

We have the hallmark tv subscription on firestick! They are my absolute favourite movies. The more predictable the better! My favourites at the minute are;
A Journey Back To Christmas
A Christmas To Remember
Christmas in Evergreen
Christmas Getaway

BeautifulWar · 07/11/2022 15:22

Love these! As soon as Halloween is over, is fine by me!

The Christmas movie channel is on Freeview now with a rotation of those films. I enjoyed A Castle for Christmas in Netflix last year. Absolute shite but brings me joy 😂
