You know what I mean. Woman gets an inn (left in a will/wins/buys). Goes to a quaint town. Meets attractive but annoying man blah blah.
Very cheesy but I like them! Is it too early to start watching them? I want to see them all! Anyone with me?

Oh my gosh where have you all been all my life?!!! I don’t tell anyone in real life that I watch these. My husband just gifted me a Hallmark Christmas Movies book that has info about the films and Christmas recipes in it and I am over the moon 😂😂😂 He records all the ones he thinks I will like off Christmas 24 and Great Christmas

KangarooKenny · 06/11/2022 22:12

There’s one called Christmas Snow Globe - or something like that - and it was recommended on here last year. Still haven’t watched it.

I love "The Christmas Train" starring the very handsome Dermit Mulroney

I’ve watched that more than once! Where it gets stranded over Xmas and she meets her old love.

JennyAdlington · 06/11/2022 22:17

Me too @Rummikub

Rummikub · 06/11/2022 22:22

Today’s Xmas offering I wasn’t really invested in. It was all olde worlde. But it still got me when orphan Roy spoke!

Teenagekicksmyass · 06/11/2022 22:24

I recorded this one and watch it every year, I love it!

ping78 · 06/11/2022 22:29

Aww I love that! He is definitely a keeper.

Jayneisagirlsname · 06/11/2022 22:59

The Christmas Train is fantastic. It's become a tradition for DH and I to watch it with a Snowball and a mince pie.

There's one I enjoyed where a country star (Addy?) got stranded in a small town and stayed at handsome stranger's Christmas tree farm. She helped him save the farm and they wrote a song together. If anyone can remember the name I'd be so grateful!

The Christmas Clock is lovely and the actor is beautiful. I don't like beards but he is just gorgeous. Hits his head wakes up in the future, you know the rest.

the80sweregreat · 07/11/2022 06:34

Holiday in handcuffs was funny
The idea of kidnapping a gorgeous man so as not to lose face with the family was great
So fluffy
It Reminded me of the proposal with Sandra bullock and Ryan Reynolds ! Although that isn't a Christmas movie.

Thanks..I love a time slip film!

There was another film that involved snow globes (sort of) where a woman, who is a professional life organiser or something helps a bloke and his daughter- bakes cookie Grin (he's a widow- of course). I think he might work for a toy company or something. Can't remember the title. Usual story of he designs great toy/saves his business/ they fall in love- but the bit of the story that stands out is she tidies up some snow globes that belonged to the wife. That is a big no! Grin

And since starting this post I have managed to find it- Christmas in the Air. Very cheesy film, and apparently not all that old (2017)

ordinarilyordinary · 07/11/2022 08:19

Love "Midnight at Magnolia" on Netflix

HashtagShitShop · 07/11/2022 08:24

There's one where two sisters (who loves Christmas and one who hates it) become trapped in their own Christmas movie and have to get out of it. It's so bad it's amazing 😂

One of the couples in it is married in real life and her they have no chemistry in this film. Amazing 😂

RedRobyn2021 · 07/11/2022 08:26

Thanks for recommendation of the Christmas train, will definitely be watching this

RoseBucket · 07/11/2022 08:27

A very Yorkshire Christmas film is ready for download if you’ve not already seen it,

Isn't that with the actress who plays Helen in All Creatures Great & Small?

BigFatLiar · 07/11/2022 08:51

A good one is 'A Christmas Visitor' available on prime, used to be on sky. Its about a family that doesn't do Christmas since their son died in the gulf and then they get a visitor.
There was another where the two daughters didn't get on and thought their dad was going nuts. He disappears off to his old home and they go to get him only for the spirit of their mum to be there. Being a Christmas film she pulls the family back together. Can't remember the name.
I have 'The Bishops Wife' downloaded to watch (the version with Cary Grant).

Not a Christmas film but if you get a chance to watch To Dance With The White Dog take it, it's a lovely film.

Love a crap cheesy Christmas film.

My fave is "A Christmas Kiss." It's hilarious. I swear in one scene they use a manaquin for some long shots of the lead actress 🤣🤣 then there's a news paper article at the end that if you pause the film is quite a funny read. They then went on to make "another Christmas Kiss" which was also badly good.

Instant message / Christmas in Boston (goes by 2 names) is also another fave

Raahh · 07/11/2022 09:30

Oh- another goodie( mainly because the title is an excellent pun, imo)- is The Christmas Shepherd. A widowed book writer loses her dog- German Shepherd( hence title). Her last connection to her late husband. Found by girl who coincidentally loves her books....

Won't give back dog.

I get very frustrated by it. Even though I know how it ends. Grin.

beachcitygirl · 07/11/2022 09:31

I have one!!! I felt it was too early to start the cheesy xmas movies but my dd & i wanted one of these movies !

I give you "holidays" on the Netflix. Quirky girl sworn off men meets hot guy who has had too many weird women - they decide to be each other's plus one at all
Major holidays/weddings etc

Just the right amount of shmaltz. Perfect not quite xmas movie season yet flick

Raahh · 07/11/2022 10:00

I love how formulaic they are- and dd2 and I like to spot the '20 minutes before the end' twist. It happens in every one. Like clock work. All going swimmingly- Inn sale going well/factory being saved/woman from NY is falling for country boy- then BAM! ex turns up from the city and declares undying love, the will turns up that shows the Inn belongs to Auntie Mabel in Maine etc etc/ ex girlfriend decides to stir up trouble. Cue lots of misunderstandings.

Fear not, its all sorted within the next 5 minutes, and there's snow before the credits.

crumpet · 07/11/2022 10:15

I am just impressed at how you all remember the names - they just wash over me in a haze of snow and bells.
watched the first one if the season yesterday- they met via a Christian dating site, with the twist that she wasn’t religious (just desperate)

Raahh · 07/11/2022 10:27

crumpet I only rememer one or two- a lot of them have titles that are very similar, or make no sense, and have no real connection to the plot (so I forget thoseGrin)

I do have a list of 'proper' Christmas films that I watch (Elf , It's A Wonderful Life. Arthur ChristmasGrin etc)- but I try to save those to nearer Christmas, for things like putting up the tree and wrapping presents.
