You know what I mean. Woman gets an inn (left in a will/wins/buys). Goes to a quaint town. Meets attractive but annoying man blah blah.
Very cheesy but I like them! Is it too early to start watching them? I want to see them all! Anyone with me?

Oh I love these movies.

I also like the Octobery not scary autumnal movies

I was poorly recently and basically spent a week making the most of the free trail hallmark channel on Amazon prime

ShakeYourFeathers · 06/11/2022 15:01

My favourite hallmark girl is Lacey Chaubert and my favourite hallmark guy is Colin Egglesfield

katseyes7 · 06/11/2022 15:47

Yes! I'm not a fan of Christmas at all, l lost both my parents close to Christmas and l'm on my own.
But yes, they're a guilty pleasure. I particularly like the Evergreen ones. I've still got two recorded from last year, and l'm hoping they show the other one soon so l can keep that too!

Whatadisgrace · 06/11/2022 15:52

Some of you are very late to the party, I've been watching Christmas movies on Great Movies Christmas since September 🤣🎄🧑‍🎄
I love them.

ShesThunderstorms · 06/11/2022 15:58

Oh yes! I started watching them on channel 5 last week and instantly felt cosy!

onwardandupwards · 06/11/2022 16:03

I love Christmas land and the Christmas ornament, no one else in my house likes them but I love these kind of movies!

unwillingantisocial · 06/11/2022 16:21

Watching Castle Hart as we speak

KangarooKenny · 06/11/2022 16:40

There’s one where the woman comes home for Xmas and the guy has this most gorgeous log cabin that he lives in.
I actually want to stay there for Christmas !

MrsMitford3 · 06/11/2022 17:15

I'm watching Castle for Christmas atm. The cliche game is strong.

Watched A Knight for Christmas and I did laugh at the preposterously named Sir Cole. Seriously do the American writers at Netflix not have access to British peerage name information? 😂Any classic name that would not sound like a 2000's American trendy name would be fine. if it was a popular name in 1300's Norfolk I apologise

ShakeYourFeathers · 06/11/2022 17:21

I'm afraid I can't name my favourite one because they all merge into one big corny movie

But one which springs to mind is where a journalist and her male colleague who can't stand each other. And their plane gets diverted to a Christmas village. And they have to save the inn

On Netflix I like operation Christmas drop and the Holiday Safari with Rob Lowe and Charlotte from Sex and the City. Although I wish they would say they're in Zambia a great country very close to my heart than generic Africa.

DeadBod · 06/11/2022 17:32

I love the afternoon Christmas films. One that sticks out is the one where a Nutcracker Soldier comes to life.

TheHappiestChristmasTree · 06/11/2022 17:36

'A Christmas Visitor' is my fave m.imdb.com/title/tt0343531/

Thewayshetalks · 06/11/2022 18:13

I’m sure movies 24 has switched to Christmas 24 already and they have back to back cheese romance movies, I’ll see you all in January!

BatshitCrazyWoman · 06/11/2022 18:14

Currently watching Christmas Wedding Planner on Netflix, love corny Christmas films!

OliviaFlaversham · 06/11/2022 18:20

Yes! I watched a channel 5 one last weekend that had Dolly Parton in (for about 5 mins) and I LOVED it.

Rummikub · 06/11/2022 18:23

Is that the one about the authors book being chosen to be given out as gifts to the children?

Raahh · 06/11/2022 18:26

Oh yes- I've been watching them for weeks already Grin

They do pretty much follow the same formula- and I have favourites (though can never remember the titlesGrin) that are on all the time. Candace Cameron Bure has become the queen of the genre- closely followed by Lacey Chabert who is a lot of them- and Melissa Joan Hart Grin

I love the CCB one where she is transported through time because of a comet/snow storm. 'Journey Back to Christmas '- the time scale is totally improbable and it's all bonkers but I love it.

Time slip/changing time/ 'pseudo' Christmas Carol' type plots are very popular (waking up to find they are married to someone else/have kids/no kids/moved to a different town/then love their new life etc).

I love them all.

Watching Castle Hart as we speak

I was too.
Really enjoyed it. Quite unusual with its Irish setting
Saw one with the obligatory owner of a Christmas tree farm in it earlier. Daft but good - woman forgot about two years of her life after a bump on the head.

WhatWouldHopperDo · 06/11/2022 18:27

You have to keep an eye out for Christmas in the Smokies and Christmas on Holly Lane. Both so cheesy but amazing!

I also love the Christmas Prince films.

Allthestarsabovemyhead · 06/11/2022 18:27

I always watch them on channel 5 every year.

MrsSchadenfreude · 06/11/2022 18:29

I have found my tribe!

Raahh · 06/11/2022 18:30

And everyone on all of them seem to be able to whip up a batch of perfect Christmas cookies in minutes. Perfectly iced.
Unless it's crucial to the plot that they are crap at baking, of course.

greenstrawberries · 06/11/2022 18:31

I randomly dropped on Mrs Miracle on Channel 5 and loved it!

MissMarplesGoddaughter · 06/11/2022 18:34

I love them all too.

When the opening shots show an American town with perfect snow, with swept sidewalks, a Christmas tree full of lights, a blue sky, sunshine and smiley people with perfect teeth, I sit back with my crochet and escape for an hour or so.

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 06/11/2022 18:35

I quite enjoyed Christmas in the Highlands yesterday on channel 5, so cheesy but so good! 😂🤣😂
