Experts is a strong term

It is like saying Hamble from play school is a world leading astrophysicist and Humpty has won Olympic Gold in gymnastics.

.... Haha, I should've read the updated thread; it's been mentioned already.

Just caught up, what is Whitney’s deal?! Agree that she shouldn’t have passed the assessments to join the show, she’s damaging herself and her partner.

Other than J&C I don’t think any of these couples will last, maybe not even to the end of the series! Can’t wait for the wife swapping to begin!

Nice to see captain curtains giving it back to Tommy boy on the first look, their last row abroad was all Tommy shouting but looks like CC has found his voice now. Agree Lara has the ick, same as me, i initially thought George was fit but his toddler tantrums on honeymoon put a sharp stop to that!

DahliaBlue · 10/09/2022 10:18

Whitney's attitude was awful from the get go although I did feel at one point either during or shortly after the ceremony she softened a bit. When someone is that horrible to you, you are bound to dislike them so I reckon Duka dislikes Whitney but is just playing calm and cool to stay on the show. Whitney expected him to fall at her feet and work harder to win her around but he ha decided to just be polite and cool. So between them both the vibe is a cold and harsh nothing. Duka might argue back a bit off camera but who wouldn't. So in a sense he is being fake by wanting to stay when there is such coldness between them and he must know there is no realistic chance of it working. He wouldn't want it to work anyway - she is too cold and I don't think he is attracted to her at all.. I find it very uncomfortable to watch and wish they would both go.

PoseyFlump · 10/09/2022 11:12

reminded me of Kenny Everett's Cupid Stunt. Showing my age though

Showing mine too Grin it's all done in the best possible taste! <crosses legs>

HappyPeach · 10/09/2022 11:41

I missed the first show because I cba with the stag/hen parties but I went back and watched it last night. It gave me a new perspective on Witney & her vulnerability & her dm dying so suddenly in a car crash. That said, if she's truly so wobbled by the show, she should leave. Sounds like she needs some decent grieving therapy before she's ready for a relationship. Right on show one she said she bolts before she gets close to anyone.

hugefanofcheese · 10/09/2022 21:37

So April only gave the other lass a quick peck on the lips as a joke, maybe hamming it up a bit? Did he see it, I'm confused? Christ, if that's true then George is pretty histrionic and volatile. If not then she has a lot of growing up to do. Probably the truth is somewhere in the middle?

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 11/09/2022 00:14

Am I the only one who believes Whitney when she says Duka is incredibly fake? He’s boring and has no opinions and just comes across as Generic Nice Man. You can see whatever it is about him is breaking her. I’d find someone that indifferent and spineless annoying too

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 11/09/2022 00:16

I think Captain Curtains was spot on. Thomas stirring the pot when it’s not needed, all he was trying to say is there’s 2 sides to every story and ALW went ballistic.

I don’t get why everyone is acting like Pjay isn’t good enough for Jess. He’s drop dead gorgeous, amazing body, seems kind, agreeable and like a good laugh. Jess is a solid 3 in both looks and personality. The head tilting thing is seriously getting on my wick too

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 11/09/2022 00:21

Jess’s pouting bumhole mouth is really upsetting me.

Me too, and her fake eyelashes are waaaaay to thick and long and really badly placed on her lids, it’s like she got them in a set from Claire’s Accessories.

Also the Vicky Pollard hair-do’s - are they back in style? She clearly has lovely long thick hair, why scrape it into a Croydon facelift?

The thing is she is clearly very pretty naturally but has ruined her face. The lips are ridiculous, and she can’t speak properly because of it. I do wish these women would just leave their lovely faces alone!

I know I'm probably the only one here who likes Richie but there's a basic honesty about him a lot of the others don't have. He doesn't seem to have any bitchy drama in him and to be fair, he said the first he'd heard of his wife's upset was on the sofa. She admitted she couldn't tell him. Do I think they'll go the distance? No, only as friends but I'd rather have Richie than Duka or George.

I agree and he didn’t throw a tantrum or do a George style sulk. He was self reflective and promised to do better. I loved what he said about people shouldn’t stick to “I’m not changing for anyone” and that he will change for Lara. The fact Thomas sat down straight after and said “I’m not changing!!” Gave a very stark contrast to the two couples.

It went from a full on snog, to a kiss, to a peck. April changes what it was at every retale of the event. On Monday we will hear how the two women weren't even in the hot tub together and it was an air kiss from across the room.

No your not ! He said something odd at the stag that chimes with what Whitney says. Something like 'I'm so good looking I won't have any issues with my bride/getting women' I was Hmm at the time. That saying Whitney is really not in the right place to deal with it all. What they probably thought would be an entertaining personality clash is exemplified in a negative manner by her grief. It's not right that she is staying.

I agree that there could be some truth is what she's saying about Duka. I think he is concerned about how he will come across & being careful about what he says and how he says it etc But to a certainextent, isn't that quite normal? And with English being his second language, he will be more conscientious about how he words things etc. But the problem is that she is the complete opposite and couldn't care less. And she already clearly had an issue with the entire process before she even heard him speak (her reaction to the entire wedding, even before she walked up the aisle) so I think she has jumped onto this 'fake' thing as a reason to justify her overall behaviour. And Duka, who is concerned about how he comes across, and wants this process to be a success for him in at least some ways is continuing to be 'fake' or one could just say 'positive' or 'diligent' to try turn his experiencd into a positive one.

I agree too! We've seen no personality or opinions from him- as you said he's playing 'generic nice man' rather than being himself

RainbowSlaw · 11/09/2022 08:29

I can't move past the way Whitney mocked Duka's name and scoffed at his accent - that told me enough about her.

But there is a difference between being a bit wet /agreeing too much with others opinions and actually being fake.

My other half mostly isn't fussed about things (he likes all foods) so doesn't express opinions about that. Doesn't mean he is fake which is much more of a nasty accusation. If she just means a bit wet, then say that.

But in fairness George first described it that “April has been intimate with someone else” which was a tad over dramatic

Absolutely! It sounds like she was extremely close to her mum and it’s probably a stark reminder that when she could just do with a moan and someone to understand where she’s coming from, the one person who could provide that isn’t even there Sad

Prinnny · 11/09/2022 08:59

I’m unsure about Duka, feel like I don’t know much about him but I found his ‘I’m fucking fighting for you’ speech strange, like why would you fucking fight for someone who can’t stand you? And tbh he doesn’t seem that into her, but how can he be when they barely engage? So that gives me fake vibes from him.

It’s not just that he’s wet. When he gave that gushing speech about love and friendship she looked well pissed off - it made me wonder if he’d been slagging the other participants off at some point or something, and he just wants to be popular.

I can just see it with him that’s all.

DiamondsandSapphire · 11/09/2022 09:15

I do think Duka would annoy me. He seems to lack personality.

Velvian · 11/09/2022 09:16

Both George and April have behaved absolutely absurdly. From his 'She has been intimate with someone else' - when obviously he left her in swimwear with a group of people and came back a few minutes later to the same situation.

Then April's tantrum at the dinner party, when she looked exactly like DD's best friend having a tantrum when she was about 7.

Neither of them seems to be able to take in any information and seem totally unable to reflect on things. They both seem strangely childlike.

StringerBabyBell · 11/09/2022 10:04

Is it just me or is Jenna the spit of Laura Kuensberg?

On the Duka fakeness, Whitney is pretty up there fake wise with her faux posh accent. That said I can't believe they are letting her stay when she appears to be in such an unhappy place MH wise. I think Duka is just dull more than anything.

They're all pretty fake let's be honest. Perhaps bar Zoe, Jenna and this year's smug marrieds (Chanita and can't think of his name).

He has been given no space to show any personality. We can't see him laughing and joking because she shut him down right at the start.

No idea why he didn't say leave though.
