The "captain curtains" argument I feel was pointless thomas was well within his rights for getting g involved and sticking up for duka no fucker else did! They are all kissing Whitney's arse...yes her mum died no excuse to be so vile i do think its an act or she's unhinged not sure why they even let her on the show, as if this is some sort of mental breakdown she's going to be destroyed when she sees what people have been saying death threats etc. the pairing is all wrong she needed an older man someone that ain't going to take her shit not a "lad".
Though I do wonder if she's telling the truth about off camera?

The rest of them meh I just don't get it apart from j and c I mean Jess is a joke same April george is pissing me off grow a fucking pair! At least thomas is honest and owns that shit.

In honour of Jess & Adrian's bold looks, please can "Captain Curtains and the mouth like a pouting bumhole" be the next thread name.

😂we'll def be needing new threads on here regularly, there's so much crap to dissect!

TitsInAbsentia · 09/09/2022 12:23

How is April suddenly an expert on whitney (of the changeable accent...I also noticed her vocal fry didn't fry as much when she was chatting with Kasia)? She's known her five minutes fgs.

PMSL at Captain Curtains....I'm trying to work out if Thomas lloyd Webber would sound half as hilarious if he didn't have a scouse accent.

tellyiscrap · 09/09/2022 12:35

@MelodyPondsMum sorry for your loss . It's been a stark reminder to us all of the preciousness of loved ones past and present
I'm no royalist at all but this woman has done her job wholeheartedly for 70 years through thick and thin , I had a lot of respect for her , not so much some of the others but what family does not have its share of troubles , pain and heartbreak. Sending hugs to anyone struggling for whatever reason today - including you Whitney ❤️

mrstea301 · 09/09/2022 13:24

Just catching up today, that was quite a commitment ceremony! Thomas is very dramatic, but I think it's interesting as Adrian is a singer I believe? So I wonder if the issue is really a contest between them to be the more showy one?

Whitney needs to leave I think, she probably shouldn't have been let on the show at all to be honest. Her and Duka aren't a match, and she's quite horrible to him, I can imagine it being quite wearying. It's just so frustrating when people come onto shows like this with such a rigid set of rules for who they want to be with and there's no leeway- if you're so set on a particular list of characteristics, then don't go on the show and put the work in yourself to find someone that matches them!

oxydant · 09/09/2022 13:24

So much drama! Did anyone else notice Whitney's accent changed completely when she was talking to Kesia?

No but mine does the same when I go back home

bloodyplanes · 09/09/2022 13:44

I think while everyone is busy focusing on Whitney's disgusting behaviour no one is noticing how fake and vile Jess and April are! Both obviously very shallow individuals who seem more focused on fame than a relationship, and no wonder Jess is such a pathetic princess looking at her awful mother's behaviour!

marmiteadict · 09/09/2022 14:07

I bet if they went back to the old formula you wouldn't see this lot for dust.

No dramatic dinner parties or commitment ceremonies. No hotel rooms in central London.

They never met the other couples, returned back from honeymoon to one of their grotty bedsits in suburbia. They went back to their day jobs and the highlight of the experiment was to go to some grotty office block and talk to a non celeb expert.

Little wonder it never worked out. Too much like real life

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 09/09/2022 14:11

Indeed marmite

The sham of the “wedding” too.

It is basically a meet and greet. They’d have more chance getting a match by dispensing with the clown ixperts and getting themselves down Spangles on a Saturday night at closing time.

Right I’ve caught up now and was looking forward to tonight before remembering it’s not on till next week.

Captain Curtains was probably the finest comedic moment yesterday.

Jess’s pouting bumhole mouth is really upsetting me.

April I think must be a clone of Miss Great Britain 2020 as I can’t actually find more than one dimension to her.

Dod is like one of those Dads that does barbecues at PTA events. You’d be bored shitless if you were on rolls and ketchup duty alongside him.

i like Kesia taking up
space that KwaME thinks he , by rights ,should have, both figuratively and literally. I think Kesia is KwaME’s worst nightmare but he can’t say because rude, as another PP said (sorry I can’t remember who but you made me laugh).
I think Kesia has stopped fancying him now and I am thankful as I do not want to see a wide~on for such an undeserving person. Maybe I’m being harsh and KwaME will reveal himself to be a KwaYou but I doubt it very much.

I’m here for Lara and her honesty. Normally I’d take a dim view of storing secrets up for the commitment ceremony but I think she had a full time job just trying to keep Ritchie’s (possibly long nailed guitarist) hands off her flower.

Ill give it to him though, he had a good recovery there and I grudgingly admired his seemingly genuine insight. However it remains to be seen as to whether he Can use that insight to stop being such a slobbery hound.

Favourite DD is just about home from school now so I’ll have to stop sadly but I could go
on.

Unmumsnetty hugs to those of us with feelings at the moment. My own DM died after a sudden and short illness last year and these sad days are very difficult for many of us.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 09/09/2022 15:18

We all know right, that Thomas Lloyd Webber was the kid in Love Actually?

HappyPeach · 09/09/2022 15:18

I know I'm probably the only one here who likes Richie but there's a basic honesty about him a lot of the others don't have. He doesn't seem to have any bitchy drama in him and to be fair, he said the first he'd heard of his wife's upset was on the sofa. She admitted she couldn't tell him. Do I think they'll go the distance? No, only as friends but I'd rather have Richie than Duka or George.

Sorry but your comment makes no sense. You eat plant based. Or do you call yourself a vegan on the days you just don't eat meat? Bit like someone claiming to be a Christian one day and a Muslim the next. It's way more complicated than that. Neither Jenna nor Zoe should compromise on their moral view points and should never have been matched. They have been shafted.

Genuinely unsure which bit of my post is unclear?
We have gone mostly plant based because we are worried about the future of the planet. I wouldn't call myself a complete vegan because I do eat meat 3 or 4 times a year - usually at Christmas and when we go to DH's cousin's farm (where we eat some delicious reindeer). I do cook fish for my son because he has a reasonably restrictive diet but the rest of us only have vegan meals. My husband likes cows milk in his tea and I'll have it if I go out for a coffee, maybe once a month.
I agree complete veganism is more complex hence why I didn't call myself a vegan.

I think either Jenna didn't say she wanted a vegan, or at least open to veganism wife or the producers ixperts just ignored her. Either way she needs to knock off the judgemental attitude.

PollyDarton1 · 09/09/2022 16:48

Wow, what a commitment ceremony.

I am so on the fence about Whitney. The girls seem to think she is genuine, and she certainly seems more relaxed around them. I haven't seen her really interact with any of the guys. There is every possibly Duka is a total dick off camera and that Whitney, albeit being a total shit about it, has a point. That said, she was hostile from the bat, so it's hard to really sympathise or understand her behaviour when it's been very clear from the get go that she's unhappy.

If Duka has made a comment about his ability to bed women afterwards (although I do wonder whether it was in response to her being hostile) I can see why Whitney may be doubting the whole process. But I get the impression Whitney would take offence and be hostile about near enough anything so it's hard to measure.

Thomas clearly likes inserting himself into every drama going. Adrian had a very good point in that nobody really gave Whitney a chance but then I also think Whitney didn't give herself a chance either and decided to be petulant instead. I think despite Thomas being the MH professional, it's probably Adrian who is more grounded and objective.

I bloody knew George OTT'd on the 'peck' April did. I think April is fake but I also think George is probably more hostile and aggressive than he lets on.

I actually felt for Lionel in his handling of Lara's comment. He seemed to take it well and actually understood what she was saying. I do still think she has the ick and I'm not sure she'll get past that.

A580Hojas · 09/09/2022 19:19

I watched the stay/leave episode this afternoon.

Of course the icksperts are invested in persuading everyone to stay because if people leave it makes less of a show, but in any other circumstances no one would be trying to persuade Jess and Kwame to flog their respective dead horses.

Thomas is so unpredictable and volatile it's hard to believe he actually works in mental health. He seems unable to handle any sort of comment on his behaviour if it is the slightest bit negative. But his behaviour is extreme, so people (Adrian) are going to comment. Him flying off the handle like that just makes a mockery of everything he said 10 minutes earlier.

I am a bit in love with Lara. She is so beautifully articulate and appears to be wise and clever (or maybe I just mean mature) and made her point about Ritchie without being unkind. Whitney should take note.

emilyjeff · 09/09/2022 19:20

Just caught up again
I agree Kwame isn't interested in Kasia at all but doesn't want to say so, as that would mean leaving the experiment and he wants maximum exposure
Whitney did herself no favours but I kind of get what she means about Duka, we've not got any real sense of his personality and he must be in it for the fame or he would surely have voted to leave!
A lot of attention seeking going on although possibly the producers encouraged the drama about the hot tub kiss. Only ones who have any chance of going the distance are Jordan and Chanita

PoseyFlump · 09/09/2022 20:30

Anyone think the Ixpert in white looked like she was wearing a Pantomime Dame's fake bosom?!

PoseyFlump · 09/09/2022 20:34

In theory, if everyone entered this experiment for genuine reasons then no matter how bad the marriage initially was they should all say 'stay' so they can benefit from the ixpert's wealth of wisdom. (Or for the fame and pussy obvs)

Yes! I’ve seen similar on Drag Race.

I had never heard of this programme until someone at work recommended it and now I am hooked.

What surprises me ( and not in a good way) are the so called “experts “. Are they qualified in any way? Their behaviour seems v unethical and the Australian woman reminds me of Kenny Everett’s All in the best possible taste character ( from the 70s).

Anyhoo am v glad to have found this thread which will add to my enjoyment immensely.

wordlewordle · 09/09/2022 22:04

Anyone know where I can get Lara's dress??

Nomad916 · 09/09/2022 22:53

Poor Lara has a bad case of "I feel too bad to say no"
