I know Whitney said Duka's different off camera but given that she implies she's her authentic fabulous (mostly) unadulterated self 100% of the time, I wouldn't be surprised if he stood up for himself a bit more after a few run ins and picked her up on it off camera rather than embarass her on camera. She said previously that he claims the camera/audience will "love" him and "hate her". That could be a red flag but in this instance I wonder if he just firmly pointed out to her that her attitude won't help her come over well on national television and she's twisting it back.

Happy to reverse my opinion if more come out later and I do have sympathy for her evidently still raw grief but I think this is just how she is tbh and she's coming across as an unpleasant bully. She's constantly digging and you can actually see her trying to work out which buttons to push and measure his reactions. I briefly sort of dated a male Whitney- it's systematic with them, they HAVE to win. We'd have a normal, dramaless meet up and then he'd send a message rounding on me and picking a fight. He'd go away, think about it and decide his angle of attack. Edit jobs happen but those being edited do supppy the raw materials.

And yes, Ritchie is Roy Cropper with a Mod-meets-brit-pop hair cut. I don't think swapping April to him and Lara to George would work either though. I understandably can't see April being attracted- she's a lot more ambitious if nothing else, and younger, and George is so clingy. If Ritchie is Kevin the teenager (who never did become a sooper-star top dee-jay) then George is more of a demon velcro baby. They might bond over both having kids - but as friends only.

I don’t normally watch telly live these days so I got a bit of a shock when I came back in the room and saw that very strange programme. I’m probably never going to get it as I don’t even wear much make up but why do people want to look, in her words, as fake and plastic as possible?

My read on the Whitney and Duka situation is that Whitney has had a lot of bad experiences dating assholes, and pretty much expects all men to reveal themselves as assholes sooner or later, meanwhile Duka is trying super hard to placate her, which she's interpreting as him being fake and having an agenda. She can't trust that a guy is actually nice.

She said he's different on/off camera but then contradicted herself when she was talking to Kasia at the dp, saying he's always nice and never says a bad thing to her. She's probably always been very guarded but even more so following her grief, in short I think she's just latching on to this "fake" thing to justify pushing him away. She really shouldn't have been put on the show.

I think you are giving her way too much credit. Although I agree with you on the having dated arseholes only part. They are definitely her type. But Whit hated Duka from the get go, so it's not even like they got on at first and then she turned on him. Her entire walk down the isle was just one massive eyeroll- he hadn't even said hello at that point yet!

I felt sorry for Whitney and Duka. She’s all in her head and is being v defensive and wary. Agree with yellowsmileyface. Poor Duos being kind but not getting a response and he looked so sad.
It was interesting to see Whitney be herself more when she was talking to the other women.

Pmsl at George before the dinner "some things will be kept private" and then blabbing it to at least 5 people before they'd even had their starter. There was no way April didn't know that was going on. And why did April have to take Whitney off for a private chat when Kasia had already done so? Because she wants to be in the middle of the action/on camera all the time, that's why.

PJ and Duka both come across really well and I feel for them cos they've very much been short changed by the icksperts.
