The weather is quite autumnal here today (ie rainy )

Fizzy I'm so proud of her -her school were not that great during Covid, (they would claim otherwise) and year 10 especially she was really let down with how much time she ended up being off, and the lack of catch ups- but she worked really hard in the last year . I feel quite protective of her friend too- they met on their first day of secondary, and won't be going to the same college- I'm just really glad she's done well.

Dreading back to school for DD2, and still trying to pretend it's not happening. I can't even bring myself to label anything.

Thank goodness for that about Djok- although there should have been any discussion of whether he could or couldn't play anyway. So long as we don't have to listen to the commentators still complaining about it.

I have been checking the results from Winston-Salem, because I was distracted last night. The lovely Maxime Cressy beat Sonego and Jack Draper beat Theim. It's a shame about Domi- ever since winning the US Open, he's had nothing but bad luck.

He's another very young one, Rinky. Sometimes that can be dangerous, when players haven't met before.

Raducanu has drawn Alize Cornet in the first round. That could be a tricky one. It was Alize beat Iga at Wimbledon.

I can't believe the US Open starts tomorrow. Rafa not due to play until Wednesday, I think- the night match, so i'm unlikely to see it.

Only a week left here til DD2 starts year 7 , dd1 has an enrolment at 6th form this week and my kitchen is being ripped out.

I'm not really looking forward to the next couple of weeks (And the tennis is on at the wrong time to distract me!).

Yes it looks as if Rafa’s not playing until about midnight tomorrow night our time (I think - I still get confused by the time difference!) - hopefully he’ll get past Rinky and we’ll get to see him at some point

Will hopefully watch a bit of tennis later - Andy Murray’s playing and a few others but I can’t remember who

I see that Serena and Meghan Markle have done a podcast together - think I’ll give that one a miss

I think Daniil's match is on Ashe, an hour later than Murray's. For once, I'm glad to be back to Prime- at least there will be a choice of matches.

The Meghan/Serena podcast is definitely one to miss, I think.

Serena's match is the 'big' night match- although I'm sure really the schedulers know that the Dick/Kokk match after it will attract more attention.

I turned on the RBA/Wolf match. Dh wanted to know why the ball kids are wearing the South African flag. At first glance, it does look like that

RBA is getting stressed about towels.

I don’t think I can watch the tennis while I’m still on holiday . If I go onto Prime there’s a US open thing but if I click on that it doesn’t bring up any matches to watch. How annoying! I’ll have to rely on you lot to keep me updated. I’m home Thursday evening so will still have chance to watch plenty - just hope my favourites aren’t all out by then!

I probably wouldn’t have been able to watch much anyway given the time difference (I’m two hours ahead of the UK).
