Kate Middleton Grin

Of course the main topic of conversation at the US Open will be Djok! Mac is like a dog with a bone about certain things Hmm

If he’s not there we don’t need to hear about him!

Raahh · 23/08/2022 15:59

Jane I would say that's a shame, but - no, it was not a great hair do. Grin

Fizzy true. Last year, the entire tournament was all about Djok getting to 21 slams. It was so brilliant when he didn't - so much egg on so many faces. <settle on meanie bench>.

Wolf is still very 80's looking somehow even without the mullet.

Raahh · 23/08/2022 16:08

Jane it's funny how some players have a 'look' about them. I always think Taylor Fritz looks like he could have partnered Fred Perry in doubles. Grin

Can I join you all on the meanie bench?! I was delighted when Djok got deported.

That is hilarious about 700 drinks woman. I hope it gets to court and Dick has to defend himself.

Raahh · 23/08/2022 18:46

Plenty of room on the meanie bench, Chessie- I'm hoping the deportation order stays in place in Australia- I will be so disappointed if it doesn't Grin
With a bit of luck, Kyrgios will soon be snowed under with court cases.

He might even withdraw from the US Open- he's 'fatigued' apparently- that's why he's going home and not in the Laver Cup team (nothing to do with not being asked/not actually ranked high enough Grin).

I've just seen the scores in the Thiem match and sadly he lost the fist set 6-0, so maybe he's not quite going to have a big comeback yet.

OP posts:
Raahh · 24/08/2022 00:43

Of course, he could turn it round- topsy turvy scorelines are a big thing lately!

Just put it on to see Grigor retire Confused

JaneJeffer · 24/08/2022 01:09

Hope he's ok. He looks shocking.

JaneJeffer · 24/08/2022 01:16

Our Fabio also had the doctor out but I don't know what for.

Raahh · 24/08/2022 01:22

I can't sleep- and saw that the scores had turned around. I hope Grigor is OK Sad

Missed the news about Petra but saw Angie's. Congrats to both!

Fizzywinegum · 24/08/2022 20:46

Yes congratulations to both - lovely news!

Who knew there was more than one female tennis player who had a baby!

Raahh · 25/08/2022 07:24

Very nervous here this morning ( and I live in a permanent stressed state so not great), dd1's GCSE results are today. She could check them online, but wants to go into school. She's still in bed. I have been up hours.

I've promised not to check online myself before she does ( personally, I would much rather not be opening envelopes in front of people, but it's what her and and her friends want to do).

Been a couple of wobbles and talk of last minute A Level changes, which I was expecting. I just wish the news had shut up away grades being low Hmm.

In tennis news, the Ukraine exhibition sounds like it raised a lot of awareness/ funds- Azarenka didn't play in the end.

Good luck for your DD Raahh - hope it all works out (and get her up! Grin)

They showed a clip of the Ukraine exhibition match on Breakfast TV - Rafa and Iga v Mac and Gauff - looked like a lot of fun (Rafa did a tweener - I don’t usually like them but I’ll let Rafa off Grin)

ChessieFL · 25/08/2022 11:43

Hope your DD got the results she wanted Raahh.

Great news about Angie and Petra although it’s a shame that it means we won’t get to see Angie play again for a while (if ever).

Raahh · 25/08/2022 13:54

Thanks everyone- dd1 did brilliantly, and is very happy. She's more pleased for her friend- who passed everything, and doesn't have to retake maths ( which was a huge worry!).
Grin

That's brilliant Raahh well done DD and friend!
