It's very good.

It's loosely based on actual murders that happened in the writer's home area to my knowledge.
It was the father of the bride who killed her, in the real life version. They never found out why.
Some family members of the people who were involved in the tragic real events are unhappy about the series. Understandably so.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/06/2022 08:25

Agree did look very dead

I don’t get why if following a true story they add /change things

why say her dad is dead and fil to give away and kill her

if was really her dad

Somebody on the thread said they didn't see that coming . .

I did but not sure how I thought he might slap her, at the very least, but the use of a cutting board was unusual .
I am enjoying it and so many well known faces in it .

Trinity65 · 15/06/2022 11:38

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/06/2022 23:49

Omg. Finished as behind 50m due to work

i thought literally seconds before he did it he was going to hit her with the spade

ahe needs to lock her back door !

will she be dead. How will he explain that to his son

If I was Him I would claim I had not been in the House and also, she seems to have enemies due to her Political Stance . I would take advantage of that fact too.
Not that I am a Killer . lol Just seen lots of True Crime shows .

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/06/2022 12:42

Cutting board. I thought he walloped her with the spade

LadyEloise1 · 15/06/2022 13:53

I thought it was the spade too @Blondeshavemorefun

Trinity65 · 15/06/2022 13:54

Perhaps it was the spade

SpinMeARiver · 15/06/2022 14:15

It was incredibly quick. Really shocking.

Howeverdoyouneedme · 15/06/2022 14:45

I missed a bit, the dad (who killed her), did he live there?

FuzzyPuffling · 15/06/2022 15:14

He lives next door. Part of his frustration with her was that there used to be a hate between the two gardens, but her new fence stopped that.

Howeverdoyouneedme · 15/06/2022 16:23

I see, thanks!

LadyEloise1 · 15/06/2022 16:33

He had promised his wife ( who we learnt from the Joanne Frogget character had committed suicide ) that he would always remain close to their son.
It was the embarrassment re the pornography playing over Bluetooth and JF stating his wife died of suicide and the stress of the arrow directed at his train / him that drove him over the edge and lash out at JF.

@Blondeshavemorefun I think the story was inspired by certain aspects of the real murders and the underlying tensions in the area rather than a recreation of the actual events.
They never did find out in the real life story why the dad killed his just married daughter as he killed himself by going on hunger strike before his trial.

the80sweregreat · 15/06/2022 16:47

The second murder details have been changed I read online.
That actor normally plays nice characters too!
The nasty doctor from EE is also in this too!

butterpuffed · 15/06/2022 19:01

They writer said it was loosely based on what happened, guess it was so as not to upset the families and friends but from what a poster said upthread, some already are.

It made me jump when Neel's father killed his wife ! I guess it was annoyance about her talking about the suicide and stress at what happened when he was driving the train and only half explaining it to his son.

diddl · 15/06/2022 20:04

Love how they have Robert Glenister's son playing the younger him!

2Rebecca · 15/06/2022 20:42

Im on ep 1 and confused by the 2 kids. I presumed the black teenager was babysitting the younger boy but they seem related in some way. No parents seem around at the moment I presume different fathers but very confusing trying to work out who is related to who

They've mentioned a few times the parents of the kids were on a cruise and are trying to get a flight back.it’s only supposed to have been about 48 hours since the (first) murder took place.

Oh yes. So they did

It's all a bit confusing, but very watchable and well-acted. I agree there are far too many familiar faces though.

burnoutbabe · 15/06/2022 22:41

I was assuming that London detective had got the lady in flashback pregnant )and not known) and she had a child who married the daughter of the men who died.

But she said she had no kids do that's killer that theory dead!

Who for the undercover cop.
We have 3 men of right age- sparrow/brother in law plus chap from episode 1 not seen tonight. (Maybe train driver)

But also could be mrs sparrow (one assumes not the 2 sisters as that would be 2 undercover cops) or mrs train driver maybe

Hunderland · 16/06/2022 00:38

My vote is Daphne Sparrow for spy cop.

Seems to be quietly running things (although definitely gone over to the bad side...) 🙃

LadyEloise1 · 16/06/2022 08:48

@Hunderland
You could well be right !
It's the way the camera lingers on her - watching her reactions.

Rosehugger · 16/06/2022 09:00

I'm voting Moseley for spy cop. It's just the sort of thing for Kevin Doyle. Great cast, great story, great ending of Ep 2.

R00tat00tt00t · 16/06/2022 09:35

I'm loving this, best thing we've watched in ages. Amazing cast. I properly jumped at the end of last episode. Is it bad that I actually deserved a whallop?! (Not to be killed obvs. She was so mean to him and he's clearly struggling. My heart broke for him when he was trying to tell his son about the arrow attack on the train and the son just wasn't listening. Son seems a bit dim and hen-pecked. My vote for spy cop is either brother in law/Moseley or a character we've not met yet. Stephen Tompkinson is listed in the cast on IMDb and obviously another big player. (Apologies if that counts as a spoiler?) Mrs Sparrow also good shout. Did anyone else notice Philip Glenister ask St Claire how his brother was and St Claire said something like, "Let's just it shall we?"? Think there must be more to that too...
