Has the sleeping woman been identified?

It's all over the internet but she's not been named

vera99 · 05/06/2022 20:20

These 'Red Boxes' - she reads them all apparently but cannot have an opinion and then signs them. Not really a job or actually necessary. As Yossa says in Boys from the Balcksuff - I can do that gissa job ...

dizzygirl1 · 05/06/2022 20:25

I missed the sleeping woman... not sure how....
Where was she? I'm confused as to how anyone could sleep through that!

User280905 · 05/06/2022 20:27

They all looked so serious today, even the wee boy. Like they knew how much it meant. God bless her.

Badger1970 · 05/06/2022 20:35

Someone could have poked the sleeping lady. That was so disrespectful to fall asleep right behind Prince Charles.......... she must be really embarrassed.

GreenCard · 05/06/2022 20:37

I missed the sleeping woman? Was it someone in the royal box?
it felt so lovely and sad seeing what seems like her last appearance in celebration.
why did Ed Sheeran put his guitar on the floor to walk off for someone else to come on and get it? Surely easier just to walk off with it and hand it to someone at the side??

GreenCard · 05/06/2022 20:38

Or was it as it was attached for the mic? I’ve appeared to have answered my own question!

The Queens smile seems to have changed

Yes, I noticed that too. Like her bottom jaw was too far forward.

Yes , I wonder why ? Maybe she's got jaw pain .

Roundlampshade · 05/06/2022 21:26

I think it’s an age thing. My mother does this.

AnguaResurgam · 05/06/2022 21:33

I've just been watching the highlights programme on BBC2

Commentator said that the estimated international telly audience was 1 billion

that's 1 in every 8 people on the planet

I was similarly staggered when Baroness Scotland said that almost 1/3 of the global population live in Commonwealth countries

WimbyAce · 05/06/2022 22:44

Just whizzed through the pageant footage, v poignant balcony scene. Have to feel sorry for Prince Charles tbh, has been an awful couple of years but I think they have very much set the narrative of how they want the Royals to be viewed going forwards. Sad for the Queen, it really feels like her days are numbered.

druto · 05/06/2022 22:52

we noticed that!

WeAreTheHeroes · 06/06/2022 08:22

The Commonwealth is probably the Queen's biggest achievement - maintaining ties with now independent countries.

At 96 anyone's days would be numbered. At least the Queen is realising her limitations and not trying to carry on as she would have done in the past.

I don't believe it was anything other than planned that Ed Sheeran didn't take his guitar off with him. He probably went straight to a reception to meet and chat with people.

Somewhat belated addition to three but - Clare Balding apology explained. Nothing to do with the Drag Race float, Gay Pride or 'great world leaders':
