It makes me feel anxious.

I would much rather it end on series one where they are happy and in love as opposed to there being more series where things will inevitably go wrong for them.

More series just means more opportunities for them to break up and I’m not sure I could emotionally cope with that 😢

I'd expect some expansion of the storyline for the next two series (e.g. Imogen doesn't appear in the source material) but you needn't worry about them breaking up.

There is a short book too called Nick and Charlie, which is set after the yet to be published 5th Heartstopper graphic novel. No spoilers but there is some drama in that one. I wonder if Netflix will include that story. They did put book 1&2 into the first series so perhaps they will need to for two more series worth.

so does the script still need to be written for season 2? Or are they ready to start filming? I expect filming won’t be until September realistically after the cast have been on holiday etc? Very exciting!

There's not been any announcement as to how much of the script has been written yet, let alone filming dates. I imagine the author has been thinking about it but it's whether she's chosen to put her efforts into the webcomic or a then-unconfirmed series 2 script.

I'm assuming they're going with the books so the storyline is obviously written.
I'd think it'll be late next year before we get it.

I feel like this after reading all the books - even though I know they're fictional characters I'm so invested although realistically a teenage romance won't last forever I can't bear the thought of it not lasting and university etc getting in the way !! Without giving spoilers I think the main message of the series is that even seemingly perfect people (which in the books they are pretty perfect -boy band style looks both really popular etc) can have problems and you can't rely on love alone to fix them you need to have a whole support network which is a very healthy and positive way of coping with some serious issues .

I’m Im a real fan of normalising nice lgbtq+ series and I know it’s helping a lot of people. (CMBYN is a great film but it didn’t make me happy!! I just felt especially sad about everything when it ended!)

Haha I watched that years ago. Those films are good in they’re own right, I just wasn’t expecting CMBYN to not be happy
