The place is stunning but the rooms are so disappointingly cheap hotel looking.

They're horrible, aren't they! Surprised.

Black might be good for a hangover. But totally doesn't fit country house hotel.

Refurbished in 2003 'after a period of relative neglect', apparently, then opened as a hotel and conference centre

Such a shame. I imagine most of the character's been destroyed.

Can't imagine either would go down well with wedding parties.

Does anyone remember in previous series I'm sure with the hotel room challenge they said the furnishings had to be flame retardant? I was just surprised they're allowed to make paper maché light shades, surely they wouldn't meet safety standards for a hotel?

I think the black could possibly end up looking good depending on all the accessories and furnishings.

The green is just bad.

Assume it's because the hotel gardens are designed to look Italian so they think putting that in the rooms somehow fulfills the brief.

The finish is just awful in all of the rooms. I don't think any of them are good enough to be left like that.
