Wednesday BBC1 at 9pm for anyone interested. I really enjoyed the last series.

Those bedrooms next week look shocking. Can't wait Grin

Aniita · 09/03/2022 22:00

Richard's room was rubbish. Sad Paul didn't go though.

Having said that, I didn't particularly like Amy's. That print looked quite amateurish to me and cactus print was everywhere about 5 years ago, just before llamas. She wasn't bad enough to be on the sofa though

Popfan · 09/03/2022 22:01

Let's be honest all the apartments were pretty shite and none of us would actually want to live in any of them

TheSpottedZebra · 09/03/2022 22:01

@Howeverdoyouneedme

Loads of green and peach again next week.
And more use of the word 'botanical*'. And possibly some more palm print wallpaper, probably on pink.

At least much better than overuse of 'painterly', especially when teamed with 'florals'.

Agree.

I think what I like about this show is seeing all these creative types who think they’re really original realise we’re all on Instagram.

PriamFarrl · 09/03/2022 22:05

Richard was the right choice to go based on design.
Those curtain were shocking and there was nothing in the room.

DH joined me for the last 10 minutes and had a word or two to say about Paul.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 09/03/2022 22:08

I'd forgotten about painterly florals 😂

They all think they are so original though, then they get their nose put out because they are just regurgitating the same old tat.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 09/03/2022 22:20

I saw lots of Instagram trailers for this - I must be their target market.

AnnaMagnani · 09/03/2022 22:22

So I'm 15 minutes in to watching this. Paul is an actual psychopath isn't he?

MrsMoastyToasty · 09/03/2022 22:30

A quick Google reveals that Banjo's real name is Brendan.
I'm not sure why they filmed his opening scene at a cafe (the large conservatory) on Mull rather than his own house. We have family connections on Mull and know that location well .

Perhaps his own place was a bit too small, or did he do the design?
Maireas · 10/03/2022 06:05

I rather liked Banjo! A happy soul.
Poor Amy, she looked very depressed. Her partner (Paul) was not only difficult to work with, but not particularly creative either.
Not much originality thus far, apart from that woman's art work on the work space wall. We'll see what next week brings.

BonnesVacances · 10/03/2022 07:43

I did like Fran. She seemed the overall package with how she interpreted and met the brief. Banjo too. I will remember his scheme behind the bed if I ever have a bed in an alcove.

LadyEloise1 · 10/03/2022 08:53

I thought it was Banjo's home and was really impressed Smile

Yes but Amy really should have spoken up. She was far too passive but she's learned that now.

The guy who went was awful! That bedroom looked like student digs filled with random items from Oxfam. I couldn't see any design in it at all. I'm surprised the judges didn't laugh when they went in.

SoupDragon · 10/03/2022 11:27

Paul of the Porn Star Moustache was dreadful. He should be next to go.

I agree that Amy looked thoroughly depressed throughout - hopefully she will be better on her own or with a different partner.

Loved the ex-punk with the thick rimmed black glasses.

The right person definitely went.

I have no real opinions on the others as I can't remember all their names!

SoupDragon · 10/03/2022 11:28

Banjo was good. I remember his name - how could I forget?

CotswoldWoolly · 10/03/2022 11:29

@BonnesVacances I liked Fran too. Great attitude to collaboration as well as the design.

Cattenberg · 10/03/2022 11:42

The judges: “Paul, why did you insist on that particular wallpaper for the office? It doesn’t tie in with the rest of the flat.”

Paul: “I am a strong character.”

The judges: “OK. And now, Next Pair, tell me about…”

Did I miss something? I was wrapping presents while watching.

Tidypidy · 10/03/2022 14:04

I liked the way they picked Paul up on the lack of collaboration. He came across as quite arrogant to us. I'm not surprised Amy struggled to work with him!

SoupDragon · 10/03/2022 14:42

Amy didn't stand a chance of collaborating with him.

nokidshere · 10/03/2022 17:44

I loved the green bedroom but not much of the rest. It's all a bit generic although for a rental I suppose it's limited.

I'm in awe of all of you guys though - I cant remember any of their names yet 😮

He strikes me as a hard person to speak up against. I can’t imagine he much likes people not listening to him. He really does think he’s wonderful.

I think they kept him on because they had to get rid of the first guy, but also because he is a personality.

LadyEloise1 · 10/03/2022 18:01

I too am in awe of those who remember the names.

Was that a plywood breakfast bar in one of the "high end" rentals ?
I wasn't sure.

None of the rooms impressed me hugely tbh.
I hated the green canopy strung over the bed.

Maireas · 10/03/2022 18:34

I hated that chipboard breakfast table.
