I've been obsessed with this case since listening to The Fake Heiress on BBC sounds. Is anyone else watching?! I love the casting of Anna.

The Neff character is awful. How could she have been loyal to such a user?

The real Neff was a consultant on the series. No doubt that’s why she gets a decent write up.

Fake Heiress was genuinely gripping. This is proper hard work.

Watched it all despite her horrendous voice.

It's not far at all off Anna's actual voice though, she's done a great job on that front IMO!

Nice to see Vada all grown up. Not sure about the rest of it though, Anna is insufferable and nobody can pronounce Ibiza properly.

What made Vivian so utterly obsessed?

Because the plot requires A Sympathetic Protagonist With Everything To Lose.

As if there isn't enough plot already.

It really irritated me that such a supposedly intelligent and driven character could be so sucked in.

Honestly, the more going on holiday was awful. His poor wife. And kids.

Yep. Completely agree. I didn't get the parents back in Germany. Really difficult to get an accurate sense of it all.

I thought that bit was interesting because it showed her to be a really pretty shitty journalist. She seemed to have no rapport building skills and approached interviews in ways that would never get her anywhere.

She was just obsessed and far too involved.

There will have been a back story there. It’s just that it’s not likely to be one that casts any sympathetic light on Anna.

Just one of these situations where you find yourself thinking; these people are all awful.

Actually no. I thought the other residents of scriberia were great. Frankly, there’d have been no story at all without them.

Scriberia was awesome. They were about the only decent humans in it all. You're right, maybe it highlights how awful and superficial people in certain circles are.

Why did they all clap as Vivien left the office? It was absolutely bizarre. The ramming down your throat ‘I’m pregnant’ was beyond annoying.

I wish they’d cut Vivien’s back story. It added nothing. In fact, it detracted from it.

The journalist's husband was also a winner. He had the patience of a Saint. Exactly how did he balance sole care of a baby for a week with his own job??

Probably the same way millions of single mothers do.

Why was he sitting in Vivien’s office watching her work just because she was due to go into Labour? Do phones not work? It was so annoying. If a man wanted to continue working up until the day his child was born, and had to go away for work a couple of months later, not one eye would be bat.

My god I have just watched the Fyre Festival one. Had never fancied it before. I am agog! When people tell you about it you can’t quite picture exactly what they did. Truly unbelievable but partly hilarious too.

The rich people talking about being in debt for hundreds of thousands of dollars didn’t affect me but knowing there were less fortunate people who didn’t get paid is awful. They don’t have rich family and friends to keep them in the lifestyle they’re accustomed to.

I thought the point about Ibiza is that most Americans pronounce it with a z sound but those in the know use a th sound. I've never been, so I have no idea.

If I was about to go into labor and my husband refused to come home from work then disappeared on a business trip just after our first baby was born, I would be very unhappy indeed.

In South American Spanish, there is no th sound for z - that’s only in Castilian Spanish.

Obviously in America. The South American influence will be stronger. Nobody is wrong.

My husband speaks Castilian Spanish and I have to say it does sound so wrong to my ears also

Can I just say the journalist is so annoying. ... she just stomps around looking all aggressive and I have to say she reminds me of myself to a point that is uncomfortable to watch 😂

However I just want to say how amazing it is to see a proper mid forties craggy face on screen - wrinkles the lot. It gives her so much character. Go vada!
