Also didn't the council say, last series or possibly the end of the one before, that the building was due for demolition?
I know they put the rent up which they found extra cash for but what about the demolition?

I reckon Nonnatus house will go up in flames with paraffin Fred bought cheap and Fred will get trapped and die. Violet will go to bits, sell the newsagents and leave Cyril and Lucille homeless.

And if the hero doctor could also die while trying to rescue someone, that would be great.

@RocketPanda I reckon you're right. It's been teased that some momentous change is coming on CTM (this series) that's going to impact everyone, and a fire or explosion would fit the brief.

You don't hear of people spontaneously combusting anymore. Used to be as terrifying as quicksand. When did they both become less of a worry? Also white dog poo... that's a rarity these days , too. I think Matthew should definitely spontaneously combust, just for old times sake 😁

I wonder if the Abortion Act 1967 is going to be mentioned soon? If it is I expect everyone will be happy that abortion is now legal including the nuns as everyone seems to have a 2020 attitude rather than a 1960’s one!

Didn't they already? Though your're right, Patrick And the missus having a real disagreement about it could be quite an interesting plotline. There are a lot of poeple now falling out with close loved ones about politics so people could really relate I think.

Does anybody else think that the shoe horned in comment about the legalisation of homosexuality a couple of weeks ago means that Tim is going to be gay?

Maybe he's going to become a far right activist and majorly homophobic and pro-life. This will bring great shame to his all-accepting parents but all he's worried about is if it's now law that all men legally must be gay and all pregnant women legally must have an abortion* then what will happen to his career as an obstetrian.

That or its come out in the papers about the Turners' sex dungeon and he's worried about his reputation by association.

My favourite part was how St Patrick of Poplar disagnosise with a head tilt that it was a rodent ulcer as if he hadn't already been told that before he'd even got there.

Also I wonder why the midwives were so concerned about the woman Clover giving birth in a house with no water and electricity. At the beginning of the programme they were delivering babies in squalid flats with rats and stuff in, so it's not like they haven't seen it before. And none of those houses had a bathroom.

I think both characters had a local, as in Poplar, accent.

Frances Tomelty is from Belfast, so it wasn’t her own accent.
