The fact the train crashed at the exact bridge where they lived, program set. The train drivers wife is an expectant mother who is under the care of that doctor

TitsInAbsentia · 16/02/2022 20:53

How exciting (if a little Corrie tram crash). I usually watch a few days later but I'm going to be settling in for Sunday night with some wine and chocolate I think!

We must surely be losing someone (known cast, not just extras) but who knows. I could lose Vi, but not Fred or Reggie. The Turner's I could lose (all of them) but Heidi isn't going to kill off Dr T is she now. Lucille and Squirrel are just dull now the courtship is over and they're 'old married'. Maybe Nurse Corrigan is in for an early chop? She's served her purpose as the unmarried mother/child in care situation. I think we can say for sure the mentions of parrafin (was that the one just gone or the one before) weren't just in there for nothing, so it's not just the people on the train/next to the train that are in the firing line for me.

Although my most likely guess is Sister M-J having run herself silly tending the walking wounded, will collapse in a rocking chair...with a face full of cake....what a way to go!

Either that or she'll get run over by an ambulance whilst running away from a raven cawing "told you so! told you so!"

MinglingFlamingo · 16/02/2022 22:18

It's on the app already but I think this weeks Relative Values article in the Sunday times magazine this week is Dr Tuner and Heidi

TrashyPanda · 16/02/2022 22:42

I could cope with losing St Matt of the Perma-Tan quite cheerfully.
But he is safe, cos they are desperate to marry Trixie off, so desperate they ignore the lack of chemistry between them
Dr T is safe too, cos of his wife.

MyBeloved · 16/02/2022 23:46

I think Cyril will perish, and Lucille will discover she is pregnant again after his passing.

ditalini · 17/02/2022 00:05

Maybe Cyril could be quite badly injured and then when the bandages come off he looks like a literally different person.

Because I like the character and I don't want poor Lucille to be sad but oh my god he's a terrible actor.

That would be an idea. Or Timothy has to transplant his head (I'll think of a reason) with one he has in his bag of skin. Just before Timothy perishes in a paraffin fireball that Perma Tan puts out.
Taswama · 17/02/2022 08:32

Agree about clothing and home decor. It should be a mix of current (1960s) and past fashions.
Im not sure what 2022 home design looks like, but ours is a mix of furniture and soft furnishings purchased from 2000 onwards.Ditto my wardrobe, although mostly last 10 years.

heelforheelandtoefortoe · 17/02/2022 08:36

are there any spoilers yet for Sunday?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/02/2022 09:53

If there are please put them on another clearly titled thread. I love speculation but I don't want to see any spoilers.

LosingTheWill2022 · 17/02/2022 10:01

I will be mightily pissed off if there's a secondary catastrophe like an explosion because of paraffin being stored!

I'm not happy with the train crash and being forced to tolerate a second generation saviour Dr Turner saving the day single handed (I've seen the pic of Tim in his white coat too). As well as wait for the outcome for Sister J and first generation Dr T. But another explosion will be too much for me Angry

GrasssInPocket · 17/02/2022 12:18

Just wondering why Timmy would even stop to put on a white coat to help in an emergency like this, even if it's to mark himself out as a doctor in waiting? Most off-duty medical professionals would probably just grab their bag of tricks and be out of the door like a shot!

TrashyPanda · 17/02/2022 13:12

Timothy has just 1 year of med school under his belt.
And a lot of that is going to have been anatomy/dissection.
I’m not sure how much he would be able to assess correctly, far less treat. Learning about bones is quite different to seeing mangled bones on a living person.

Plus it takes a certain amount of maturity to be able to cope with emergency situations. In reality, he might be more of a hindrance than an asset.

(I am, of course, ignoring the fact that Tim is the progeny of Perfect St Pat of Poplar and that by osmosis will therefore be bloody amazing)

I did find it a bit off that Tim was allowed to observe births during his summer holidays. It seemed more than a bit obtrusive, and the women may not have felt comfortable saying “no” to their family doctor. Quite different to being in a teaching hospital, where you expect this and the students will be on their obs and gynae rotation, having had lectures beforehand etc. very awkward thing to be asked by your family doctor when you are at your most vulnerable.

He won’t need a white coat, he will glow, in a luminous and otherworldly aura as he floats above the carnage bringing comfort and healing to all who touch his tartan trousers.

I think saints have to go through an initiation period before they become proper saints. Behold, The Venerable Timothy.

Realistic, though.

Pope Francis introduced a new pathway to Catholic sainthood, recognizing those who sacrifice their lives for others

That’s deffo gonna be it.
Arise, St Pat.

As Tim hasn’t quite achieved the level of wonder, he might be the Blessed Timothy.

LavenderAskew · 17/02/2022 16:51

How about all the paraffin now scattered about Poplar causes a huge inferno All perish and Poplar is no more.

Screen goes blank.

Credits roll.

End credits begin and we emerging from the flames St Timmy the Pheonix who then sets of on foot to Birmingham where he mets Mother Superior.

Cue a new series that's a mash up of Call the Midwife and Peaky Blinders. Thus, filling the void for viewers who miss both these series.

LavenderAskew · 17/02/2022 16:56

Actually, does the Church of England do saints? I know the Catholic Church does.

Though "Nonnatus House" does suggest there's some sort of cross over doesn't there? Unless he's just known as Raymond Nonnatus I suppose.

I'm going to check.

Emmelina · 17/02/2022 17:53

I’m sure I’ve heard sr. Monica Joan refer to it as the Order of Saint Raymond Nonnatus before, so sainting seems to be a thing at least in their world!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 17/02/2022 18:19

St Raymond Nonnatus is a real Saint, of child birth etc. (And was Catholic).

The real order is named after John the Devine.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/02/2022 18:19

Even the (Presbyterian) Church of Scotland has saints! Have there been any new saints in the Protestant churches since the Reformation?

Some of the predictions here are far better than what we're likely to have inflicted on us on Sunday. Grin

Yes they do. Think of St Paul's cathedral, it's Anglican.

That genuinely made me LOL.

Hope so or all those churches called All Saints will be a bit miffed.

I'm still puzzling over baby Dean looking about 4 or 5 months old and his mum being at least 6 months judging by the brief glimpse of the prosthetic baby.

Whatever happens on Sunday couldn't be more ridiculous than last but I like pp suggestion of Sister MJ conking with a mouthful of cake.
