Absolutely. Love a nice solid cut of fish (although if you'd asked me I would have said brill was a small fish. Show how good my fish knowledge is...)

There seems to be an awful lot of white sauce - big old lump of fish - caviar plus fizz in the fish dishes this year. (not a bad thing, I'd wolf it down - but all a bit samey).

When they are not doing fish fingers and custard, of course.

I feel really bad for all those who don't go through last week as they would have in any other region so far.

Yes, last week was way better than any other week so far. Shame about Robbie, I thought he was closer to the brief than anyone else, but you've got to be able to execute the dish...

Last year there was a really exciting female chef who didn't win the SE heat despite scoring higher than most of the people who went through to finals week. I was hoping she'd get another chance this year. She was better than any of the ones tonight.

I recognise Angelo from Saturday Kitchen (yes, I tuned in for Dave Grohl) and I think Robbie was on Masterchef: the Professionals.

A lot of the dishes lacked a visual connection to the brief and some of the links were too tenuous. The Chelsea Flower Show is more of an event that's televised than a television event, and that interpretation of Sherlock Holmes felt more connected to literature than any of the television adaptations. I think my hopes have been raised by previous chefs building their own blast furnaces. It's what I expect now.

May I join in please? I think I've watched GBM every year and love it. Definitely my favourite foody tv show. I follow the Mumsnet thread each year too.

Wales was bloody amazing but this lot are very poor by comparison. So tired of fish fingers and custard (though love Dr Who).

I'm just catching up on last night's fish course with a nice glass of Rioja. Looking forward to tonight's performance.
