BBC 2 8pm tonight (feb 1st) Tom Kerridge is one of the new judges.

Can't wait to see some soil and steam and shoehorned themes.

lettingthedaysgoby · 22/02/2022 20:08

Once again I struggle to see how the canapes connect with the brief...

jay55 · 22/02/2022 20:10

I suppose they could say any dish is a tribute to masterchef/come dine with me/kitchen nightmares/Saturday kitchen 😂😂😂

Have beardy beards now been replaced by topiary haircuts?

lettingthedaysgoby · 22/02/2022 20:13

I'll be very disappointing if the Grange Hill dish does not have a sausage on a fork as part of it...

Anyone else disappointed that the dish inspired by The Office isn’t a stapler in jelly??

Yes!
jay55 · 22/02/2022 20:14

Agree on sausage and stapler.

I don't recall ever seeing ducks on Grange Hill.

They’re just making links up. I think they’ve assumed it is ‘the name of the dish has been inspired by’ and then just cook what they want. Hmmmm

fourquenelles · 22/02/2022 20:19

Very pretty flower arranging but like many of these dishes how is this complicated presentation going to work at a banquet?

lettingthedaysgoby · 22/02/2022 20:21

I can't help feeling that the Chelsea Flower Show and (particularly) Derren Brown don't scream "BBC" - more "I've got this dish I'm really proud of so I'll shoehorn a tenuous connection to the brief in"

littlbrowndog · 22/02/2022 20:22

How are you all watching this

littlbrowndog · 22/02/2022 20:22

Omg

Stillcrikey · 22/02/2022 20:23

Well personally, I’m watching it with a glass of wine and some Pringles 🤣

littlbrowndog · 22/02/2022 20:23

I know bbc Scotland sent me mad

lettingthedaysgoby · 22/02/2022 20:24

Blimey, that's a whole meal not a starter!

jay55 · 22/02/2022 20:25

If anyone on Grange Hill took that in in their lunch box, they'd have been wearing it.

littlbrowndog · 22/02/2022 20:27

Dull dish this

littlbrowndog · 22/02/2022 20:28

Cauliflower expressing its self. 🤣🤣🤣🤣👏

fourquenelles · 22/02/2022 20:28

Are you happy with the way the cauliflower is expressing itself throughout the dish? Calling Pseud's Corner

fourquenelles · 22/02/2022 20:29

snap littlbrowndog

jay55 · 22/02/2022 20:30

I'm not impressed with any of these really. The flower looked amazing but sounded wet.
