can't wait...it doesn't get much tougher than this !

I was wondering that - I think they must do, in which case that'd go against her for wasting money !

Double bill tonight - heat and 1/4 !

foxinsocks · 10/01/2008 22:01

ok, friend has not been on yet. When was the semi final? Was it on tonight? I set it on series link but it only recorded one tonight was that right?

pointydog · 10/01/2008 22:06

I've missed all this. Only saw it for first time tonight. Don;t usually watch telly at that time.

I liked the bit where Greg was taking a gobful as something white (was it the custard?) dribbled slowly off his spoon/fork and the camera shot away instantly.

Oo no. We like the muck

foxinsocks · 10/01/2008 22:09

John has also been buttoning up his shirt. I'm annoyed in a way - I wish he'd just be himself and no sign of Gregg's beige fleece. John is still doing the lizard tongue thing though, isn't he.

They have been less positive about the food in this one. Or perhaps the cooks are just not as good and the food really is shite!

pointydog · 10/01/2008 22:10

lol @ lizard tongue

matches his eyes is why

foxinsocks · 10/01/2008 22:14

He has girl's eyelashes doesn't he. I just can't get over the tongue though. It's so chameleon like. You just expect him, at any point, to suddenly turn around and extend a 3 foot tongue and lick a bit of curry off a plate on another table.

pointydog · 10/01/2008 22:16

yes, while shagging a posh bird

lilolilmanchester · 10/01/2008 22:18

I love it, and used to like Gregg and John, but went off them after someone from work was on the last series and apparently/allegedly (whatever else I have to say to avoid being sued) they were really awful to the contestants, more so off camera than on.

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/01/2008 10:10

I liked the look of the Indian restaurant they cooked at...
and I love the way Gregg manhandles his spoon, like a shovel. Best cook got through last night imo.

Love this show! Love Greg & John. When Greg tastes a dish he really likes, he gets such a thrill, you'd swear he was describing sex John is more reserved ... but he's a tasty dish too.

MaryAnnSingleton · 13/01/2008 18:05

I just love seeing Gregg when faced with a lovely pudding, especially pears !

Showmeheaven · 15/01/2008 10:51

Did anyone see last night's episode (Mon) ?

I can't understand why anyone would serve up a rubarb fool as pudding/dessert if trying to impress? It looked like baby food, or worse, a bowl of vomit (sorry) .....

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/01/2008 11:08

I saw it - I guess it was her clumsy presentation ! Not a very noteworthy episode

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 15/01/2008 11:08

I did laugh at the smashed jammy dodger crumb thing !

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 15/01/2008 22:32

mmm, bit arrogant, the bloke who is through...

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/01/2008 22:14

Sheridan tonight was fab - I loved her -hope she does well !

OP posts:
Cremolafoam · 17/01/2008 22:16

yes another thomasina in the making.
sad about tarte tain boyo.he was good too(the pear one not the plum one)

merryberry · 18/01/2008 07:25

he wuz robbed! his food was so much more interesting than hers, we thought.

Piffle · 18/01/2008 09:36

Difference was Andy was superb but clinical, Sheridan was passionate. Normally I'd have put money on them picking the clinical one, and plus thought she coped better in the Prof kitchen.
I would have not been surprised had either gone through
But oh god how much did I want both of their puddings
can we get recipes do they do a book?

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/01/2008 10:05

I really liked Catherine too but she completely flunked the passion round - her margarita sorbet thing and salt seemed wonderful..but Sheridan just had something before she even started cooking,I think.

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 18/01/2008 10:06

salt biscuits I meant

I have only just figured out that the Thursday show is actually an hour long (duurrr!) so have been missing the quarter finals. Haven't seen the person we know on yet!

I felt a bit sorry for Andy - it was clear they liked Sheridan better from the start I thought and even though his food was perfect, they were always going to choose her.

I hope they make them cook for the critics again. That's when John and Gregg's favourites normally flounder .

merryberry · 18/01/2008 12:47

we were bemused by catherine's 'passion' statement last night, banging on about catering her wedding. do you think what she intended to get across is 'its the most important day of my life, and i thinki'm good enough to cook for it. therefore i really believe in myself' ??was that it do you think?

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/01/2008 13:37

I think she just lost it and forgot what she was trying to say, which is a shame . I love it when they cook for the critics - Kate Spicer is always very critical !
