FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 03/01/2008 22:07

Oh it's very funny. You'll see why when you catch up. Will be watching tonight's in a min.

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/01/2008 08:50

Superb!!! am so glad I logged on to MN today as I was oblivious of this fact (although this morning I was wondering when MC was gonna start again )

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/01/2008 14:12

am sooo excited !

Everyone watch it then?
I still managed to forget and miss the first 5 mins (had a 'toothpaste incident' when getting dd ready for bed).
Was very disappointed for Rhys.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/01/2008 09:27

yes, they really should have taken a chance on him - the whole point surely is to recognise raw talent and see how it develops through the competition. Same voice over woman again, annoying, but I suppose it's all part of the charm that is Masterchef.

Gah!! Missed it ... well, didn't miss it - but dh and I decided to record them and then watch them the following evening at 7pm-ish.

However we had to get a man in today to sort out our new TV and he changed the Virgin boxes over - thus losing all the recorded programs... including last nights MasterChef !

Anyone know if it is available for veiwing on BBC website? ... am going to look myself now anyway..

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/01/2008 10:57

Sorry, no idea about that...hope you get to record it ok for tonight !

Rhys was gutted wasn't he. The other guy was v good though and also looked delighted to get through. Loved it when he phoned his dad at the end. Thought his fish looked scrummy

Tinker · 08/01/2008 13:30

I fancy John as well

TheMaskedPoster · 08/01/2008 14:49

aha! By joves I think I found it on bbc/iplayer ... will have to have a closer look later on

lol @ fancying John ... he sometimes seems quite fanciable and then he eats something and all such thoughts instantly leave my mind!

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/01/2008 14:50

we love Gregg best in our house

northender · 08/01/2008 21:40

One of dh's work colleagues is in this series and has put us off John and Greg for life! She won't tell dh when her programme is going to be on though. She got through to the final 3 in her heat but didn't win.

Tinker · 08/01/2008 23:39

Why, what did they do to her?????

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/01/2008 09:57

yes, do tell !
Think yesterday's result was good btw

OP posts:
FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 09/01/2008 13:38

Yes, but think they put the wrong one through out of the 2 they couldn't decide between after the first bit.

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/01/2008 13:40

what, the bricklayer with his mashed potato ?

OP posts:
LIZS · 09/01/2008 13:42

Thoguht Rachel would go through last night. Am confused if quarter final is on Thursday there will only be 3 contestants left. Is there no show in Friday or something?

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 09/01/2008 13:43

Yes - I think he could have actually built houses with that! I thought they were going to put the other one through (pretty plate, 2 sauces etc).

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 09/01/2008 13:43

There's not normally one on Fridays iirc.

northender · 09/01/2008 14:18

Dh's colleague said it was a really horrible experience. Greg and John prowl round the studio with their massive egos (John more so than Greg I think), being generally fairly unpleasant. The quotes that you see from the contestants are very manipulated. She was there for ages answering questions until she said what they wanted her to say (and in tears at one stage). She says she's proud of getting through the first test but wouldn't ever do anything like it again. Think the restaurant bit was what she enjoyed most.

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/01/2008 14:22

I can't think why anyone would want to enter ! far too scary - it amazes me that people want to be chefs - I'd only consider it if I could be a patissier !

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/01/2008 22:13

silly woman wasting that lobster !

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 09/01/2008 22:38

Yes, I'd have quite fancied it if it had been cooked.

Does the programme pay for all the ingredients for them?
