Mine is The Big Bang Theory. We never watched it when it was first on, then we saw the odd episode on telly and enjoyed it so we got the box set and watched all 12 series in a couple of months!

It’s so funny, lots of favourite episodes. One of my favourite parts is when Bernadette is talking about being short and she says ‘and that’s why my feet don’t touch the ground when I’m sitting on a chair’. I’m 4ft 11 and very much have this problem Grin

Ted Lasso
I heard so much about how wonderful it was and thought, nah really not for me. But started first series when I had a short time to kill so wanted something short and light hearted and to my surprise am loving it

Lullabies2Paralyze · 10/08/2022 05:26

Series I watched that had finished their arc by the time I decided to give them a go:

Breaking Bad (is refused to watch it coz it was so hyped but when I finally did I loved it!)

schitts Creek

the good place

Dexter (the new one off season was ok but not as good as original series)

parks and recreation (LOVE IT!! if you like Big Bang and not watched parks and Rec you might enjoy it)

the office (American version, I’d refused to watch it as usually I find American versions of English shows to be a bit crap but once you get past the first few episodes it is realy good and hilarious- watch it all the time if I see it’s on telly and always watching clips on YouTube)

I just discovered Midsummer Murders! My dd wanted to watch a detective series with me and randomly I picked that one. It’s quite good!

I think I’m a few decades late on that one.

Black books I think it came out about 2005
Black Books is a British sitcom created by Dylan Moran and Graham Linehan

UkuleleRose · 10/08/2022 07:01

Corner Garage. It’s a goofy sitcom set in rural Saskatchewan with screwball characters - love it!

LethargeMarg · 10/08/2022 07:08

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt!

MummyGummy · 10/08/2022 22:46

TBBT was great, recently finished it & now started Young Sheldon.

Its so good when you discover something with lots of seasons to binge - Schitts Creek, Peaky Blinders, Money Heist, Grace & Frankie, Parks & Rec, Brooklyn 99

TheCatsBlanket · 10/08/2022 23:46

Not sure whether it’s on anywhere at all now, but The Golden Girls has to be in my top 5 of all time favourites

Natsku · 11/08/2022 05:21

The golden girls is on Disney+, currently watching it with dd and loving it

Whitewolf2 · 11/08/2022 12:52

We’ve got a free trial for Apple TV and really getting into All for Mankind, it was a slow burn to start but hooked now and there are 3 series to get through.
Also really enjoyed The Morning Show and Severance if anyone else has Apple TV!

A Place To Call Home.

Ozzie drama set in a small town in the 1950s. Bit bonkers but great comfort viewing.

User639921 · 11/08/2022 20:07

Oh yes, A Place to Call Home, I think that is one of my favourite series along with This Is Us

WinterfellsStarbucksConcession · 18/08/2022 15:59

Started watching Stranger Things a couple of days ago and I'm already on season 2 - don't know why I held out so long.
I'll also be revisiting Green Wing & Seinfeld. And giving Friday Night Dinner a whirl after MN recommendations.
Love The American Office and would recommend Upright, Back To Life & Frayed for anyone looking for great comedy drama.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 18/08/2022 18:06

IcedPurple · 30/08/2022 11:07

Rome.

I was so sad when it finished, especially when it had to race through the events of series two after the producers were told that the 3rd series had been cancelled. All those hot men, all that history, all that intrigue... Still, what we did get was brilliant so there's that.

IcedPurple · 30/08/2022 11:45

Sorry wrong thread. This should have been in the series you were sorry got cancelled thread!

Soubriquet · 30/08/2022 12:01
