Mine is The Big Bang Theory. We never watched it when it was first on, then we saw the odd episode on telly and enjoyed it so we got the box set and watched all 12 series in a couple of months!

It’s so funny, lots of favourite episodes. One of my favourite parts is when Bernadette is talking about being short and she says ‘and that’s why my feet don’t touch the ground when I’m sitting on a chair’. I’m 4ft 11 and very much have this problem Grin

Gavin and Stacey - never watched it when it was first shown but started watching when they did the Christmas special and loved it.

American Office.

Never watches it before, currently on S4. It’s brilliant!

QuizzicalEyebrows · 26/01/2022 22:58

Just discovered TrueBlood on NOW TV which I'm loving very much. Much better than I was expecting.

MadisonAvenue · 26/01/2022 23:45

Cheer on Netflix, not my usual sort of thing but I’m in awe of the talent and dedication of the kids on the show.

Yes agree 100%. It is absolutely brilliant. You can watch it 10 times and you will find something new to laugh at. The talent is amazing. The first few episodes copies the uk version and is a bit stilted, but the it just flies. Just watch it.

The Repair Shop. I just love watching skilful people do their job well.

I also like crying. Grin

Just discovered elementary and loving it.

TangledUp789 · 27/01/2022 05:41

Friday Night Dinner for me too. I only decided to give it a watch after reading about Paul Ritter’s death and I instantly fell in love.

I’m a huge sitcom fan and this one is just my cup of tea, so I don’t know what the hell I was doing for all the years it was airing on TV Confused

Bells3032 · 27/01/2022 05:42

Oh and dress to impress on itv. Such a weird concept but love it

marpelier · 27/01/2022 05:57

I was super late to Will and Grace as I thought it would be a terrible US sitcom, but it is fabulous. Binge watched it over a few weeks.

HellooooJackie · 27/01/2022 06:21

As already mentioned, Friday Night Dinner, Schitt's Creek and Motherland are all fabulous.

I have also loved Workin' Moms, House of Cards, Designated Survivor, The Crown, Virgin River, and The Fall.

I'm currently mid-way through Orange is the New Black and it is great.

SuPerDoPer · 27/01/2022 06:26

Started watching Death in Paradise last year and absolutely love it. Its gentle escapism at its best. See also The Good Karma Hospital for more gentle escapism. Just went through the last 3 series and am ready for series 4 now.

Just discovered elementary and loving it.
I watched all 7 series of this one recently- really enjoyed it.
Dulra · 27/01/2022 09:35

After Life. Never watched previous two series and when I saw series 3 was out I decided to give it a go. I think it is brilliantly done I have had a couple of unexpected bereavements recently and I can relate so much. I really like all the flawed characters and their idiosyncrasies and just the slow pace of the show. I am just about to start on series 3 looking forward to it.

ancientgran · 27/01/2022 09:37

Grey's Anatomy. Started watching it in December and enjoyingit. Some bits make me laugh and some bits make me cry so pretty perfect really.

BoodleBug51 · 27/01/2022 09:40

I've just discovered Chicago Fire. It's very watchable, doesn't tax your brain and I'm on season 7 out of 10.

I also loved Motherland and Friday Night Dinner....... how on earth I missed those at the time, I'll never know.

Virgin River is very easy to watch too, loved that.

We also found a US series called Alone where people are dumped in the wilds of Alaska/remote US with limited equipment and no food. That's really good, DH was obsessed with it.

Me too.

'I don't watch anything black and white. It's like a dog's made a film.' 😂

And the walk... the walk is just perfect.

I've discovered Motherland recently (I know...) and I binged all three series in about a week. Loved it.

And I'm partway through The Fall. I can't watch too many at once because it's just so chilling but it's excellent. The sheer ordinariness of him in his day-to-day life is terrifying, and you find yourself wondering -- which one is the mask, really? The family man or the murdering rapist?

catlovingdoctor · 27/01/2022 09:42

Man Down. I haven't laughed so hard in ages

BlueSkyeThinker · 27/01/2022 09:44

Back, with David Mitchell and Robert Webb on Britbox. It's written by Simon Blackwell who co-wrote The Thick of It, so it's very sweary and quite dark but very funny. I don't know how we missed it first time round. So glad there'll be a third series.

Also, Bake-Off: The Professionals, in which professional pastry chefs and bakers drive themselves to the verge of actual madness with two-metre sugar sculpted dragons and chocolate stagecoaches and tiny models of the Eiffel Tower made from choux pastry.

WellTidy · 27/01/2022 09:44

Motherland
This Is Us
Workin’ Moms
The Sinner
Queer Eye

(Some of these aren’t newly discovered but massively recommended!)

WellTidy · 27/01/2022 09:45

And, how could I forget, This Way Up

NightmareSlashDelightful · 27/01/2022 09:46

Oh -- and New Tricks. I avoided it when it was first on because I thought it would be a bit too cosy, and I don't like Dennis Waterman.

Well, I still don't like Dennis Waterman. But he's one of four main cast so it's bearable. And the rest of it is very entertaining. Amanda Redman is bloody brilliant.

Soubriquet · 27/01/2022 09:47

Siren on Amazon Prime.

Binged that in a couple of days. Anxiously waiting to see if season 4 will be released or if it will be cancelled

TheGriffle · 27/01/2022 09:48

My mad fat diary, never seen it before and binged all 3 series on Netflix.
