They must have spent £100,000 on holidays alone this year. I just don’t get it.

Tirrrrred · 06/12/2022 21:00

"With a weekly food budget of £300. There is no room for luxuries!!"

Tirrrrred · 06/12/2022 21:01

"We could have had just 2 kids and the flash cars" like everyone with 2 kids can even afford a car?

Tirrrrred · 06/12/2022 21:02

I'm watching 20 kids and counting. Millie was pushing an Asda trolley with just her baby in a car seat in it. Wonder what the point was 😂😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/12/2022 21:59

@Tirrrrred tbh £300 feeding 15/20 people is a bargain

When we read mn threads a fanjo of 4 can spend £150/200

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 06/12/2022 21:59

Or even family

Bloody fanjo 😂😂

Even from their programme they've got a hot tub, a garden bar, expensive dogs, several cars and a motor home. A few of the kids have Nintendo switch, noel got a treadmill, sue got a fancy diamond ring and even from the very first programme years ago, she got a new pram for every baby- all those could be considered luxuries, surely....? Before taking into account holidays, mini breaks, weekends away etc...?

bottleofbeer · 06/12/2022 22:42

They truly don't understand that it's crass.

Oh look Norrrl, how cewl! Isn't it Norrrl? Oh I love that Norrrl! Nice in't it Norrrl?

LidlCinnamonBun · 07/12/2022 04:37

They are stupid to blow £100K on crap rather than setting their children up for the future by putting back some savings for them.
I guess that wouldn’t make good tv so that’s why they aren’t advised to do that.

ScreamInBlue · 07/12/2022 14:18

Really stupid. How many holidays in one year? All the while their DD is living in her boyfriend's mother's house with a newborn baby. You think they'd at least pay for a deposit on a flat for her.

Because staying at home actually helping their kids doesn't pay well on YouTube. They use the hoildays to get more views and views = money.

JustKeepSlimming · 08/12/2022 12:25

I suspect they've got themselves into a bit of a bind now - they earn their money from YouTube etc, but they don't really do anything interesting enough to film; however, if they show themselves buying loads of stuff, people will tune in just to be disgusted by it, which leads to more views and more income.

So they're sort of stuck in this trap where they have to spend obscene amounts of money in order to get views, even though it's making people like them less, and ultimately it'll turn people off.

PenelopeTitsDrop3121 · 09/12/2022 10:47

Such a disgusting way to live. Imagine having to sell your children's souls for money. I hope they have put money in savings accounts. Those children have more than earnt that. They are going to be so screwed up.

woodhill · 09/12/2022 10:51

I don't think they are very good at saving somehow

Got to have more tat

ScreamInBlue · 09/12/2022 23:49

Nope, spend spend spend. There will be nothing left soon.
As the kids get older and leave home who will watch them then? Then they will have to survive on his pie shop money, which seeing as they take 3 weeks deliver one pie probably won't be very much.

LisaJool · 10/12/2022 09:30

I don't begrudge them any benefits they're entitled to but I just wish they'd stop lying and saying they're "paying for it all by themselves". The £30k they used to say their pie shop made stretche veeeerrrrry far. I love it when Sue gets asked how they save for a long haul holiday and she seriously answers that they book flights in advance. That's clearly why I can't afford the Maldives 🙄

Agree. Taking 26 people on holiday in peak holiday season, is never going to be a "cheap" holiday even if you go to a caravan in Bognor. Going to Disney in school holidays is never by any stretch going to be a cheap holiday for any number of people!! A work colleague is looking at next August (so booking ahead....like Sue...) and he says flights + accommodation is £5k for 3 people and that's without park tickets.

The pie shop 30k wouldn't have even covered 1 Disney holiday. Imo it doesn't add up that the 30k pie shop would ever have been enough to pay their basics like mortgage/bills/food/clothes/shoes/iphones/pet food/vet bills/Christmas presents/birthday presents/new pram per year even before they got a TV contract and YouTube .

IIRC they admitted to being on tax credits when they were first on tv, which before the benefit cap, and with approx 12 kids to claim for must have been a huge amount of money. Considering they were very frugal then, I guess they have lots of money saved up?

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/12/2022 17:59

If they said ch5 paid for their flights etx then what's the issue

As in why don't they ?

Coz that pie shop can't make that much money

The school uniform shop in an earlier series annoyed me.

PamelaShipman80 · 10/12/2022 18:40

Ooh is there a new Christmas episode?? Or is this last years?

Nah as soon as they were first on TV and ever since - their main income has been their media career - tv, website/blog and social media/YouTube.

Benefits cap timing probably wasn’t all that impactful for them as they’d now started the media personality gravy train.

rainbowzebra05 · 10/12/2022 18:52

They wouldn't have been impacted by the benefit cap because they'll have been receiving in work benefits, the cap was for out of work ones.

If you watch the earlier episodes vs most recent it's blatantly obvious that they're on a vastly different income now. There's no way a pie shop making 30K a year is even covering their day to day living standards, never mind the holidays and cars.

I agree that they’re definitely earning more now, so probably no more tax credits, when first in the media they definitely were claiming them. Then went through a period where they were earning more, but got lots of things “gifted”, which I don’t think would affect their claim. More recently, they’re most likely earning too much through YouTube etc. It sounds like they could be spending their money more wisely though!

TheDuchessOfMN · 11/12/2022 11:37

And now they’re in Disney Paris.

I remember when they used to be somewhat relatable.. I have no idea who on earth they appeal to now. The fans (???) are bound to get bored of them soon.
