@GoodnightGrandma

I believe they breed the dogs and sell the puppies. Have we ever seen them walked ?
There usually barking and shitting on the plastic grass when I cycle past
wonderstuff · 24/12/2021 17:20

How old was she? I thought it was all quite sweet, heavily narrated and edited, but sweet. You can’t possibly have that many children and not rely on the older ones to help raise the younger ones, you can’t have enough time for each child, but they all seem to rub along fairly well.

She was 13 when pregnant, 14 when she gave birth. He was 18 Sad

@onedayoranother

After watching the US equivalent it is clear there's a lot that could be going on that is not touched upon.
That’s a bit unfair to accuse them of sexual abuse and covering it up because that’s what happened to the Duggar family Hmm. The only thing they have in common is being a big family.
IWasHotInTheNineties · 24/12/2021 17:35

*Well maybe not accuse but insinuate!

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/12/2021 18:23

Yes was a huge block of cheese

Wonder what that cost

My block was £4 and open 10th of the size 😂

Think it was all a bit staged. I don't buy that they leave the Christmas shopping to 3 weeks before the day. And surely you'd check passports before booking a break abroad (especially as the youngest hasn't even got one!).

Llkjdhwhgsyoqobf · 24/12/2021 18:52

That's awful! Where is this? Have the police been involved?

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/12/2021 19:17

Didn’t they have the same hassle before over a passport

Yes a lot is staged as is reality

I doubt the serving up for 26 is difficult given I’ve never seen anything apart from a dollop of protein and a dollop I’d carbs being served up at a meal time. There’s nothing resembling a vegetable or salad on the plates.
PolarBearYumYums · 24/12/2021 19:22

@PinkWaferBiscuit

I will simply never get over their ages when he got her pregnant. No amount of pretending they are a happy family and everything is great will ever make the situation right or acceptable in my opinion.
Spot on. It’s horrific.

Whoa. Hold your horses there.
MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 24/12/2021 20:35

Watching it now.

Was the turkey meant to be funny ?Confused

It's all very staged and fake,isn't it?

I don't think you can call it an 'equivalent'. It's not like one is a remake of another. Confused

What you watched was a programme that is also about a family with lots of children. The similarities pretty much end there. The Duggers are very religious and they home school as they don't like outside influences. They encourage their dc to marry early to people they barely know and to have lots of dc of their own.

Yes, very staged and fake.
Lifeisnteasy · 24/12/2021 21:22

Just started it! Placemarking so I don’t lose the thread…

Gartanbou · 24/12/2021 21:27

Started watching it and it honestly made me feel weird. Watching all that needless excess and waste. I'm not normally po faced about stuff that doesn't affect me, but it seems so out of touch.

I also have a 14 year old daughter and she's about to put Xmas jimjams on and play along with cheesy stocking shit. I cannot imagine her being pregnant from her 18 yo boyfriend.

It's really tainted my thoughts actually.

Howeverdoyouneedme · 24/12/2021 21:35

They’re a gross example of excess and waste. I don’t watch it anymore but it looked like a house full of semi feral kids longing for some peace and attention.

Lifeisnteasy · 24/12/2021 22:00

I have to say, the kids seem very well behaved and polite. Nice to see the older ones helping out at the homeless shelter.

Jobseeker19 · 24/12/2021 22:03

How many children did they have when the first show started?

NatashaBedwouldbenice · 24/12/2021 22:08

That tattle website is horrible!

I don't think the children are polite or well behaved at all from what I've seen. Unsurprisingly to be honest as they clearly just want attention.

Also anyone believing that any of the stuff in the shows is not completely scripted and faked is living in cloud cuckoo land. Do you honestly think they would go to lapland, a homeless shelter or do any of the other nonsense that is in the show if it wasn't being filmed?

The bottom line is they are being celebrated for a man impregnating a child and for starting to have children at 13. I
How anyone can watch and praise them is beyond me.

I was thinking that this afternoon. (Must have seen it advertised on TV so it was in my my mind)
MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 24/12/2021 23:16

Ds told me the jacket Sue was wearing cost over £1k!

I think it was 16 children
