I feel KC's pain. I've got a meeting this morning about a project I really don't want to do, that I think is likely to be a classic fuck-up and a load of stress, and that once I've said I will do it I can't back out of. But there's very little work around, so what to do.

KC has got the extra pressure of not wanting the showrunners to destroy the legacy of Samantha, so I hope she got script approval. When I first saw the news I was dreading her having to see the error of her ways and learning to be deeply respectful of Che and Miranda's relationship and basically be Not Samantha. However, fortunately she is only in one cameo talking on the phone to Carrie, so how badly can they fuck it up for her?

On breakfast news they’ve said it’s a phone call with KC only. No acting in person and just one scene.

I got the impression from the Variety article that KC will appear on camera but talking on the phone? Possibly it is voice only, that would be a better compromise for KC certainly, but sad for us not to see Samantha in person one final time.

It’s a shrewd move for KC. A big payday, a cameo means no humiliating media coverage, no interaction with the others she’s publicly criticised, and in general she could be testing the waters before a full-time return in season 3.

They have written her character in and Carrie wants to make up. If Samantha doesn't it makes her character look bad?

No not really ,Samantha was a central character it would have been more odd not to mention her

I meant the way they have written her story! It could have been more 'good for Samantha she is having the time of her life travelling the world for her career etc ...' with positive texts sent now and again.

I think Carrie and Samantha actually have made up to some extent haven't they? I'm sure Samantha sent Carrie a friendly text about 'any time' towards the end of AJLT. (In fact is that what inspires Carrie to call Samantha and ask her if she'd like to meet in Paris?).

They could perfectly well reference them having become friends again without showing it, I just hope whatever they have planned for KC is worthy of both her and Samantha. Given the absolute state of AJLT I tend to doubt it.

My feelings are summed up best by a quote from the (much better) Harlem: 'God doesn't give us burdens that we can't handle' 'Well, she did give us the Sex and the City reboot'.
