I’m three episodes in, and I’m like “meh”
Not very funny and depressing…
Hate all the “box ticking “ it’s overtaking the show
Charlottes daughter can’t just be a tom boy ( which in itself would be funny ) she has to be -whatever they were saying? Transgender?
3 min “comedy sketch” about being Bi….?
Charlotte and Stanford don’t like each other?
Big wanking ..( eew)
Steve just going “eh? What?”
Carrie totally ignoring Charlottes warning about Miranda’s drinking?
Miranda’s Prof saying she was a White Saviour when trying to point out to the guard he was being unreasonable?
Everyone mentioning their age every scene?
Why would Carrie be putting herself through the embarrassment of a vulgar podcast when she’s clearly retired writing and married to a millionaire?

I’m debating whether to just imagine them, all running home from the desert where my imagination left left after SATC2 …

I think the Big kill off preceded the Chris Noth scandal. The only way to give Carrie a new chapter, new romances etc, was to get rid of him.

I'm not sure I want to see Steve again. I didn't like him in the original series (Miranda should have got together with the doctor), but he's so weird in AJLT and behaving like he's in his 90s rather than his 50s, I just can't stand it. I know they had to create a reason why Miranda went off him, but this was so extreme.

Pemba · 25/01/2023 14:21

Does anyone know when the new series will be coming to Sky /Now?

tribpot · 25/01/2023 14:24

What I hadn't realised is that David Eigenberg (Steve) has hearing loss in real life, so they wrote it in - and made him seem like some doddery old git for his trouble. I wouldn't want to come back if I were him. This right-on version of SATC not troubled by able-ism ...

Ridemeginger · 25/01/2023 14:32

Well all the more shame on the creators, then, for not making a positive or at least sympathetic story line out of the hearing loss. Steve and Eighenberg both sacrificed on the woke altar to allow Miranda to completely change character.

magicstar1 · 25/01/2023 17:48

I'd love for Steve to realise he's better off without Miranda, and find his zest for life again. He could find a new girlfriend and be happy again.

XanaduKira · 25/01/2023 18:03

Me too @magicstar1

Ridemeginger · 25/01/2023 18:22

The annoying thing is how Miranda could never accept Steve moved on from her and just let him be. e.g. Jessica, Debbie, getting the bar with Aiden. They reconciled after his affair in SATC 1, and seemed strong and mutually supportive in SATC 2, with Miranda moving on to a job that gave her a better work/life balance by the end. It just feels odd that they went spectacularly wrong after all that, and that she ended up back at a shitty firm where she was undervalued, leaving her dissatisfied. And then discards Steve for a foul tempered, foul mouthed, boundary trampling, pot headed "comedian" who the old Miranda would have laughed at, not laughed with, as being completely up her own arse, and an absurd cliche of woke tick-boxing.

XanaduKira · 25/01/2023 18:42

Totally agree @Ridemeginger

CleanBedding · 25/01/2023 19:27

Exactly @Ridemeginger 👏

Leftoverssandwich · 25/01/2023 19:39

I think Big was meant to be in the last series more, and was edited out from what were meant to be flashbacks. It meant some bits with Carrie didn't make much sense - eg the Paris ending.

I liked old Steve but new Steve was absolutely Old Steve and made for painful watching. He was a sexy shagging bartender when they met, and her bit of rough. And they turned him into an 80 year old. I think he should be in this series, and find himself a fab new woman.

EachandEveryone · 25/01/2023 21:22

I hope Brady has gone off to uni or somewhere.

vjg13 · 26/01/2023 09:09

I'm glad it's coming back despite having mixed feelings. I thought it may have been axed in the wake of the Chris Noth news.

tribpot · 28/04/2023 17:58

Resurrecting this thread to post the teaser trailer for AJLT Season 2 - same old same old

Oh god I’d forgotten the endless Brady shagging malarkey.

Che and Miranda are back too. Sigh

CosyCoffee · 28/04/2023 18:11

Can't help feeling excited by that even though I know it's going to be annoying.

BeginningToLookALotLike · 28/04/2023 18:16

"And just like that I realised some things are better left in the past."

Yes. Che.

Me too.

tribpot · 28/04/2023 18:27

I'd leave Charlotte's botox in the past as well - just have your normal face, Kristin Davis.

Larryyourwaiter · 28/04/2023 18:37

Looking forward to hate watching it.

Lottapianos · 28/04/2023 20:07

There were some very annoying and ridiculous things about the first series, but I just ADORE the clothes and shoes and handbags and how great SJP and Cynthia Nixon look, so I'm excited 😊

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/04/2023 20:30

When is s2 on

Lottapianos · 28/04/2023 20:45

scroogemcfuckaduck · 28/04/2023 22:25

Robin233 · 29/04/2023 04:05

Agree with everyone.
