Anyone watching this new comedy crime thriller? I have high expectations, purely because I fail to believe that they would have secured Christopher Walken if it had been completely terrible..

I just loved it! So funny, so clever, so well acted. Can anyone tell me if the very last song played is Kings of Leon? and what is the song?

the80sweregreat · 15/06/2022 18:22

Love love love this show !
Just wanted to put that out there

IpanemaBelle · 15/06/2022 18:51

Best thing I’ve watched in ages. Just loved it.

Ladymartin · 15/06/2022 18:53

Claes bang may have stole my heart but Jessica Gunning stole the show ! She is absolutely brilliant!

the80sweregreat · 15/06/2022 18:56

Stephen merchant is funny, but the young actors are fabulous, ones to watch out for in the future.
I think there are shades of 'Breaking bad ' here too at times, but the Bristol version !!

LouisCatorze · 15/06/2022 19:23

I loved all the characters including the one who was the dealer who ended up in prison. Difficult to choose between them really. They were all authentic in their own ways despite appearing to be stereotypical!

CaveMum · 16/06/2022 10:19

@LouisCatorze The second episode of the Outlaws podcast on BBC sounds has an interview with Charles Babalola who played Christian/Malachi. He's a very articulate young man and definitely one to look out for.

They talked a lot about giving the characters layers - Christian being a fan of Blue Planet and an advocate for recycling as well as a drug dealer for example. Stephen Merchant said that the guy he wrote the series with, Elgin James, used to be in a gang and he used to hide the fact he loved reading from the other gang members, so they wanted to make sure that the characters were not one dimensional and just "bad" or "good".

the80sweregreat · 16/06/2022 11:19

I'm sure that Stephen Merchant had a lot of help with the more criminal aspects of this drama ! It's scary how easy it is to con people :(
He retweeted one of my tweets saying a nice thing about the show , bit star struck now lol
(Although how Twitter works is still a bit of a mystery to me at times !)

Crackercrazy · 16/06/2022 21:31

I watched the second series and then went back and watched it all over again, from the very beginning! I liked that in each episode there was was kind of jeopardy (got the heart racing!) that got resolved but it still kept you hanging for more.

Loved Stephen Merchant but have to agree Jessica Gunning was superb, she really made me laugh.

Crackercrazy · 16/06/2022 21:32

Christopher Walken was sooo cool too.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 18/06/2022 07:29

so enjoyed that
a good ending
i didnt want it to end and was nervous about watching the final episode

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 18/06/2022 19:58

I really enjoyed the show. Clever and entertaining.

Kendrickspenguin · 21/06/2022 16:12

Why is Ben still doing community payback? Christian is in prison for not doing his payback, so the authorities know that Ben should not be there.

Saucery · 21/06/2022 17:37

Wasn’t it because he’d been caught doing Christian’s community service that he then had to do his own? Bit far fetched but then a lot of it was Grin

the80sweregreat · 21/06/2022 18:17

The ending was very far fetched indeed and I'm a huge fan , you had to take it all with a large pinch of salt ! Loved it though. The acting was very good especially the younger ones.

Balloonsaresqueaky · 22/06/2022 16:22

Saw the man who plays Dean naked on stage

VanGoghsDog · 22/06/2022 22:53

I absolutely love the actress who played the PCSO, she has amazing comic timing in everything I've seen her in.

But I loved both these series. I'm going to start them again next week I think.

lazymum99 · 24/06/2022 08:56

I loved this. Just finished series 2. Definitely an element of Breaking Bad there with Rani. So glad she didn’t go to run the beachside food shack.
she was getting such a buzz out of it all.

felineweird · 24/06/2022 17:27

Rani is Walter White! The end was far fetched but my god the show was soooo clever and nuanced. Merchant is an absolute genius. For example the but where he pulls Myrna up for moaning that Claire is Scottish and not from Bristol 🤣

Diane was absolutely incredible 👏 really liked Lady Gabby too

BackInBlackAgain · 30/06/2022 14:35

Stopping Greg from eating the acid brownie,

“I get it, a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips”

”no, a moment on the lips, a week off your tits”

Fluffybedsocks1 · 02/07/2022 09:52

Looking forward to the last episode , also to the poster who saw Dean naked on the stage did he look good ? ( sorry I’m curious 🤪)

lugeforlife · 03/07/2022 15:05

Finished s2 last night - am Bristol based so loved all the locations (the m32 looked positively glamorous at one stage!)

The guy who played Christian was amazing - much more of a spark with Rani than Ben had.....

Gaby and Greg were so sweet together and I loved the date with Diane.

Yes it was Kings of Leon - Knocked up

Huntswomanonthemove · 03/07/2022 19:12

Brilliant, thanks for that.

CTPT · 10/07/2022 23:07

Really enjoyed the second series, it did get a bit far fetched but was pleased to see more of Claes Bang towards the end.

I kind of hope they leave it as just two series, rather than risk it going completely downhill with a third.
