I noticed that the last thread was full, so I hope no-one minds that I've started a new one!

Go Trixie. Let him have it both barrels.

The turners flirting in front of Tim, EnvyConfusedEnvyConfused

Maireas · 30/05/2021 20:38

Poor Tim. Creamed courgettes, Liebfraumilch and saucy parental banter.....

"we'll get married during the Christmas special because by then the social distancing may have gone and we can stand in close proximity"

I had a chuckle that he didn't drink "Blue nun" because of the nuns at Nonatus House, but they drank Liebfrauenmilch. Exactly the same thing...
Tim still doesn't look too happy about going to Uni, could be under the wrong impression, though.

Sweet scene with the dad of the Downs baby. Very touching.

I’m on the bus.

Is the young curate fella Nancy’s baby daddy? Or is it DrT (who is running short of worthy storylines to be sure)?

Has sister Monica Placenta put sister julienne over her knee for being a soor ploom yet?

Has Trixie copped a feel of the lawman’s case notes?

Is little Jonty about 8 now?

Or should I just watch and be behind everyone when I get home? 😭

Maireas · 30/05/2021 20:52

@SheldonesqueTheBstard... Are you psychic or really Heidi Thomas? 😂😂😂

I think I’ll pass on being Heidi.

For reasons it shouldn’t be necessary to explain.

I don’t want someone looking pityingly at my Lulu thanking you.

Maireas · 30/05/2021 21:00

Sheldon it's like you've read the script...

I smell sarcasm.

And an egg sandwich.

On a bus.

I’ve a good mind to take off my boots and give them 16hour feet…

Elderflower14 · 30/05/2021 21:06

Oh this episode is one of my favourite ever... The lovely storyline of Reggie and baby Robert....
Ds2 who is profoundly deaf and autistic is a trustee of a Down Syndrome Charity near where he lives and he is very close to two families who have sons with Down Syndrome. He calls them his little brothers. Ive had the pleasure of meeting several families and its been a complete privilege...

Maireas · 30/05/2021 21:09

That's so sweet, @Elderflower14 Smile

@Maireas

Dr Turner once again being very advanced with attitude to disabilities.
At that time there was a place in my town, formerly a work house, where young adults with Downs were cared for. It was considered to be very modern as it was no longer a place where they could be dumped out of sight as in the past. There were educational and social activities and some of the residents got jobs in factories locally. My best friend's dad was the Head of a Special school and very forward thinking. It was definitely a time when attitudes were changing, of course not everyone was so enlightened but Dr Turner wouldn't have been so unusual.
IsolaPribby · 30/05/2021 21:15

That was such a fantastic episode! From the heartbreaking yet hopeful story of beautiful little Robert, to the humour of the bed bugs, to the shock of the identity of the landlord. An absolute stonker!

Maireas · 30/05/2021 21:16

I hope Dr Turner wouldn't have been unusual, but it just seems he's at the forefront of modern thinking every week. I remember clearly in the 60s and 70s what many attitudes were like. I'm glad things were not always so negative.

Is anyone watching the special?

GeorgeandHarold66 · 30/05/2021 21:18

Are the turners going to volunteer to foster Collette now too do you think?
They can have triplets!

Maireas · 30/05/2021 21:19

Nice to see some old faces.

EastWestWhosBest · 30/05/2021 21:23

I’m watching the special.

It’s a bit too much of a clip show for my liking. I’d like to hear more from the cast.

I wonder when they interview everyone.

Jourdain11 · 30/05/2021 21:23

Who was the landlord?!
