I know I keep harping on about dna - but they couldn’t know TH was father and uncle without mums dna. So either more to this or just artistic license ( plus poor medical advisor!).

That’s an interesting point. I found it quite uncomfortable in s3 that at first when Steve was interviewing the other sandsview victim I felt like he wasn’t kind enough - not that he was unkind but that his only concern was getting the information. If I remember right that did change during the series though.

In the recent episode I felt like maybe his anger was for the victims, the indignation at Fairbank being able to forget, and I was pleased he had that reaction. But equally it could be (and Chloe could perceive it to be) more about the frustration of not getting the info he wanted.

I also didn’t like that because there are other possible routes to the same results, and I don’t believe any proper analyst would dismiss them. However it is just a quick note on a Post-it probably from a non-specialist police officer who’d been told the full story with all the caveats and ignored everything except the single most likely scenario.

My bet is that H is Carmichael and all this stemmed from being dropped as Jackie Laverty's maid of honour

I've been waiting all series for Ryan to be subjected to one of the infamous AC-12 interviews, so I too will be disappointed if the wee gobshite is dead Me too! For plot reasons, I don't think he is dead. He's got too much info to give and he's been too prominently featured.

Conversely, I don't think we've had as many Ted-isms this series. And they're Ted-isms, BECAUSE Ted says them. To expect him not to is rather odd, IMO!

I also don't agree that Jed is taking the piss. It's a drama. You're meant to suspend your disbelief! The problem is, I think some people are so intent on pulling it apart and analysing it (trying to make every new character related to other characters, for instance) that they forget how to just enjoy it.

I know Jed invited a little analysis, but over-analysing can ruin it, to my mind.

I hope it carries on. Those who don't like it don't have to watch it!

Assuming Ryan’s dodgy gun does take his hand off (LOD does love its hand injuries) and Kate and Jo resists the understandable urge to walk over and shoot him in the face, he could still get an interview.

I did wonder at the shoot out when someone called out clear and steve went in and beardy on the floor having cpr
