I've rewatched and the feet are Jo's / Kate's as Ryan gets out of the near side of the vehicle and they're on the offside.

JaneJeffer · 19/04/2021 21:40

@HaudYerWheestFella

Why was there no blood or clear gun shot wounds when the AFOs shot the two OCG members in the warehouse (the one who dropped the phone off for Jo). Or have I missed something?
That scene was weird. I fully expected them to get up and shoot Steve. Why would they do CPR on people they shot?

@GlassBoxSpectacular I’m serving you with a reg15 - where’s this outlandish theory that related to Andrew Laverty and the clue/spoiler from the previous week please? I’ve read this thread but did you reveal all on another LOD thread? Unless it is still something that might be spoilery now of course. I’ve seen other threads but haven’t read every post like I have with this one. Thanks :)

AwkwardArnottDentonFumble · 19/04/2021 21:41

Unless I’ve been a muppet and missed something in which case I’ll cancel my request to do the inspector’s exam boss, sorry boss

No spoilers @Thebirdstbeseathebirds

Thebirdstbeseathebirds · 19/04/2021 21:48

This whole thread is spoilers and speculation!

JaneJeffer · 19/04/2021 21:49

No it's speculation only Angry

GreenTeaPingPong · 19/04/2021 21:49

Sorry but I think this series has become a repetitive parody of itself now. Kate and Pilkington pulling guns on each other and both shouting drop it was like bad Tarantino. Every single series seems to have Ted being called in by the top cops and given a bollocking, and the top cops are always seemingly dodgy. And I'm not comfortable with Jed Mercurio mixing in real life cases like Saville and Stephen Lawrence when this is just Sunday night entertainment - in poor taste. It's a shame as I enjoyed watching seasons 1-5 last spring and was looking forward to this. Lindsay Denton was a brilliant character, so well done by Keeley Hawes, a complex mix of bad and good. I don't find Jo Davidson anything like as compelling.

ceeveebeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep · 19/04/2021 21:49

@Thebirdstbeseathebirds most people on this thread have been doing their best to avoid the trailer as clearly it’s very spoilery...

ValancyRedfern · 19/04/2021 21:56

I don't tend to watch live TV so haven't seen any trailers. This thread is normally spoiler free. Please don't post spoilers while complaining about spoilers!!!!!

Thebirdstbeseathebirds · 19/04/2021 21:58

So, sit indoors, stay offline, don’t turn BBC on til Sunday then??

JaneJeffer · 19/04/2021 21:59

Please don't post spoilers while complaining about spoilers!!!!!
Exactly @ValancyRedfern

PomLikeTheBattle · 19/04/2021 22:00

I’m still perplexed why Kate went to the meeting. It’s so odd!

JaneJeffer · 19/04/2021 22:00

@Thebirdstbeseathebirds there's a spoiler thread you can post on

GlassBoxSpectacular · 19/04/2021 22:03

@NoWordForFluffy

Indeed. The lack of blood and the CPR had me baffled. Confused

I think there’s quite a lot of planting by the BBC wrt to what information they put out about each episode. Keeps you second guessing.

My theory turned out to be utter rubbish!

I was convinced that the DNA match was going to be AL, and that he was Scottish and knew Tommy Hunter, and therefore got involved in (and subsequently got Jackie involved in) the OCG. There seems to be a lot of cycling back to series 1 (Ryan, Terry, Jackie’s freezer), so it seemed plausible.

The ‘spoiler-y’ bit was connected to the photo leak on JM’s maestro course that showed Steve looking at a pic of a famous actor who had not yet appeared in the show. The tabloids gave a list of Idris Elba, David Tennant, Richard Madden, Riz Ahmed, and Robert Carlyle, but refused to confirm which actor it was. My ‘great epiphany’ (Hmm) was that it would be Robert Carlyle, based on the fact that he already has an authentic Scottish accent, plays ‘dodgy’ characters well, and the HUGE CLUE of this pic, which seemed like JM hiding it in plain sight.

Yeah, so it turned out to be Jimmy Fucking Nesbitt. HmmHmmHmm

Rest assured I’ll not be bothering to (over)think any more amazing theories from here onwards! Grin

AwkwardArnottDentonFumble · 19/04/2021 22:19

Ah, thank you for explaining! I like the theory even if it was wrong :o I’d seen the pic and read something about the list, but hadn’t put the two together at all.

QuestionableDanceMoves · 19/04/2021 22:22

@PomLikeTheBattle she went because she thought Jo was under surveillance so therefore she’d be safe. She was about to leave when Steve told her the surveillance had been pulled but Jo arrived before she could start her car.

Why she then got out of her car instead of driving off I don’t know

GlassBoxSpectacular · 19/04/2021 22:22

Phew - no urgent exit required, then! Grin
PomLikeTheBattle · 19/04/2021 22:27

@QuestionableDanceMoves ah that makes sense but yes the dawdling to leave doesn’t !

KittyOSullivanKrauss · 19/04/2021 22:32

@NoWordForFluffy

Banks didn't say that he was told there was an undercover cop amongst them. He was told there was a rat '...and that was your man John Corbett' (or words to that effect). That doesn't equate to being told there's a UCO in within them.
Yes, thanks I've just been and checked with subtitles and he said Ted told him there was a rat "who turned out to be an undercover officer", so not quite what I thought I'd heard yesterday. Too many details to think through!

Still thinking someone must have been feeding info to Gail about who to pursue for interview. Unless she'd taken information from public trials, but this wouldn't lead her to those in witness protection.

YouKnobhead · 19/04/2021 22:35

There was another thread created a couple of these threads ago, so if it's still going, that was the place for discussion including possible spoilers such as the programme notes for forthcoming episodes, cast lists and even trailer content.

There are a fair few of us doing nothing but watch the TV when it's on and somehow avoiding trailers etc (only partially intentionally!) so please can we keep this just to that, as we've been doing for so many weeks now!

HarrietHardy · 19/04/2021 22:37

Indeed. The lack of blood and the CPR had me baffled.

It did look a bit staged.
