I'm now of the belief that Ryan's gun went off on him since there is so much buildup to it being from the workshop and they are known to be dodgy. Kate possibly reacts to it instinctively as well hence the second shot.

I do feel sorry for Jo despite luring Kate to her death and hope she comes good. She really hasn't shown much skills as a police officer or detective in the way that Denton did though, another officer who was more wronged against that wrong. However, I really was willing Denton to thrive and I can't really much extend that much sympathy to do Jo as she is just now. That might come though to give her story arc a much needed boost of empathy.

True they did make a bid thing about the guns at robbery I think and how they Misswork so prob misfired

I can’t remember who referred to it as “Chekov’s tooled gun” earlier but it did make me chuckle and there’s got to be a decent chance they are right.

Argos will sell you a basic SIM free Nokia for 17.99, although paying for it in cash would be a problem at the moment.
I assume a bulk purchase from various iffy wholesalers would be rather cheaper.

We got one for our 10 year old! He’s not in an OCH but we do need to get hold of him sometimes... they’re cheap as chips and use PAYG sims. So you could have a phone and sim for less than a tenner easily... bargain!
Oh? And they still have ‘snake’ ...

Tell you what though, these OCGs have NO respect for the environment they way they get though single use phones...

Nokia TA-1010 or the 105 series are basic, cheap and sold most places now. PAYG, no questions asked, perfect for your lowly dealer or OCG tsars! I see far too many through my work!

Now picturing Ryan and beardy guy playing Snake in their downtime. Maybe that is why he sulked about handing over his phone.

I also love the fact that anyone felt the need to reassure us that their 10 year old isn't an OCG member.

Another thing I want programme makers to STOP RIGHT NOW, is showing crucial info via text message where we see their screen for barely a second.
There was some series a year or 2 back - maybe Bodyguard? - where text messages were a big thing and we were still watching on 32 inch screen and hadn't a clue what they said.
We now have a big kick ass TV and still had to rewind to catch what Kate and Steve were texting...
They could at least give contents of message via subtitlesm

I think her DS is fine; he's with his dad (there's no suggestion he's not capable of caring for him). Whether she's fine that she doesn't see him much is something else (I don't think she is, but hides it).

Loving all the theories, I reckon Buckells is supposed to be a sort of contrast with Steve. Showing what could have happened if he'd done as Osborne told him at the beginning of series 1. It wouldn't have stopped at one lie/cover up, it would have continued, it might have been good for his career but he'd never escape. Buckells isn't bad, he's following orders and taking the easy option.

Also the Burnside name on the photo, if you check out DCI Burnside from the bill he was widely believed to be bent and was arrested for corruption but was actually deep under cover investigating bent coppers! That's a cool Easter egg!

For those moved by the Stephen Lawrence case, (and who wouldn't be, as Chloe says) the BBC is rerunning its excellent 3 part documentary on BBC4 tonight.

Thursday is Stephen Lawrence Day so LoD's timing was apt.

(But no spoilers on it please - I only managed to watch half the series before it disappeared last time, so I will be rewatching once LOD is finished!)

I just wanted to mention that you can be homozygous by chance. For example A 2 is a very common antigen in the Caucasian population. So if your dad was A2, A11 and your mum A2, A24 but you inherited the A2 from both - you’d be homozygous at A.
Just in case anyone has dna results and is anxious (i know they are popular for people looking into ancestry).
