Would Jo need to disclose of an uncle that was possibly an OCG though, particularly if she was never in contact with him? She might not be aware of her true parentage. Saying that they both obviously grew up in Scotland and ended up in the same part of the Midlands

Marcusthurwellsyacht · 19/04/2021 13:43

Not spoiler related but it did make me laugh. I received this on the family group chat today from one of my children at school. Hat’s off to the science teachers for joining in Grin I expect there was a whole lesson on Homozygosity today

@Idontlikeshouting - Thurlwell isn't on the list. I've already checked.

WingingItSince1973 · 19/04/2021 13:53

Not sure why this didn't post hours ago. I've started at the beginning ha ha. Its been good to see characters that I didn't realise where right back in episode 1. Dot, Ryan, the senior police chap they now investigating. He was the once who told Steve right at the beginning to lie on the report about the operation that killed an innocent man in episode 1 which led to Steve joining ac12. This has probably all been covered. Ryan was a horrible little kid. Tormenting and old man and grassing on people leading to them being killed.

sorryboss · 19/04/2021 13:57

I'm currently rewatching s3, Dot shooting Denton has striking resemblance to last nights scene with Ryan. Denton tells him he'll be covered in evidence, Dot shaking etc

eekbumbler · 19/04/2021 13:58

Is James Nesbitt Belfast or NI at least... When Ted looked at the photo of the early days is it possible they worked together? Aargh...!!!

Yep, we spotted that. It was a good call back. Obviously Dot is able to stop all that happening by wiping things down with his handkerchief while holding them in his hand IIRC.
Cocacola12 · 19/04/2021 14:03

I’m Scottish and struggle with the spelling of the word definitely (ok with spelling in general!) so I definAtely can understand it could point to a Scottish connection.

Someone posted the photo upthread, and I'm fairly sure he isn't on it
GreenSlide · 19/04/2021 14:25

Someone has posted a clue from bloodlands. Possibly reaching slightly!

peachgreen · 19/04/2021 14:28

James Nesbitt is from the North Coast of NI so I would assume he'll be using his native accent though whether that will tie to Ted or not, who knows...

Netaporter · 19/04/2021 14:28

I posted the photo upthread. He isn’t in it. No names on that photo make for any further clues.

Buggerthebotox · 19/04/2021 14:34

Is that the "Samson Crane as H" theory again? Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 19/04/2021 14:35

Banks didn't say that he was told there was an undercover cop amongst them. He was told there was a rat '...and that was your man John Corbett' (or words to that effect). That doesn't equate to being told there's a UCO in within them.

AgentCooper · 19/04/2021 14:48

Has anyone paused the pic of Ted and colleagues in NI yet to see if Thurlwell is there? I know I could do it but too lazy...

I’ll be disappointed if Ryan dies. He’s a wee shite but a great character. Not that I want Kate to die!

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 19/04/2021 14:48

@BoreOfWhabylon

I'd just like to preen a bit that it was moi, way back on the last thread who first said it would all link back to the Boys' Home.

I now think it was Ryan who was killed, possibly shot by Jo. Jo will survive to explain about being brought up thinking that Mr Davidson, who her mother married after she was born, was her father. Until she discovered he wasn't, around the time she joined the police and that was when the OCG got her in its clutches.

Ted is not H and is not corrupt. As has been pointed out many times, he would have a much more comfortable lifestyle to show for it if he was. Sindwani has charged him to sort things before his time's up and, like an ageing knight, he has buckled on his armour once more and sallied forth into battle.

He will succeed in exposing Osborne and others and AC12 will survive under a reinstated Sindwani, to go after Nesbitt. He'll retire in S7, having handed over to... someone.

I'd love Ted to interrogate Nesbitt in the Aquarium. Imagine the dialogue!

Hello Jed Wink I think you might be on to something there, but I'd love the "old knight" to keep going for a good while longer. Definately.
PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 19/04/2021 14:51

@NoWordForFluffy

Maybe he was just embarrassed at being called out on his shit spelling?!
I get that a lot. Grin
Thebirdstbeseathebirds · 19/04/2021 14:54

Ryan doesn't have to die, maybe the wee bollix just gets shot in the, well, bollocks... I'd pay good money to see the smile wiped clean off that wee feckers face, the dose.

ContinuousMonotoneBeep · 19/04/2021 14:54

Okay so I'm piecing together last night's episode so apologies for being slow on the up take.

Was Buckles on of the offices that mocked Lawrence (sp?) Christopher? Didn't they all retire though? So what's the connection?

Idontlikeshouting · 19/04/2021 14:55

Thanks @MotherOfGodWeeFella I knew someone would have the list handy!

Netaporter · 19/04/2021 15:00

@AgentCooper yes I did. No he isn’t

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 19/04/2021 15:02

I've just re-watched the ending of last night's episode and think the two shots were fired as Kate was speaking. I have my fingers crossed I'm right.

OliveHenry · 19/04/2021 15:03

If anyone wants to watch the clip from Graham Norton mentioned upthread, it's here, from about 06:40

www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000sty6/the-graham-norton-show-series-28-episode-20

It's very spoilery though, so avoid if you really don't want to know!

We know that Ted was angry about his ex-wife being attacked by John so it makes sense that his visit to Banks was to get revenge without getting his hands dirty and the £50k to Steph was guilt money.

We need to see him being interrogated. It will be a massive shame if he's dead.
