Yes I think there were 3
Ryan shoots at Jo and misses
This causes Kate to pull her gun on him
Stand off
2 shots off camera

GlassBoxSpectacular · 18/04/2021 23:59

One thing that’s bothering me: we know that someone else headed up the Vella case for a month before Jo. Why have we heard nothing about who that was or why they left/were replaced? Why aren’t AC-12 more interested in that, seeing as whoever it was was potentially manoeuvred out by someone bent but higher up, in order to put Jo & Buckells in place, or left because they were frightened off? Confused

Fiddlersgreen · 19/04/2021 00:00

I didn’t think Ryan tried to shoot Jo but missed.
I thought it was that he fired a shot into the air as a warning. Maybe to show the gun was loaded and ready?

lolacola77 · 19/04/2021 00:03

Mother of god I'm floating up the Langham the wrong way but can I just check, the 3 'H' so far are Hunter, Hilton and Biggeloe? I'm watching tonight's episode again and am confused with my back pain medication...

Nodal · 19/04/2021 00:06

Was Lakewell Ros's lawyer husband or am I misremembering?

SaintReatham · 19/04/2021 00:06

It is so perfectly MN that so much of the LoD plot hinges on an incorrect spelling.

My bet is that H is Carmichael and all this stemmed from being dropped as Jackie Laverty's maid of honour

GlassBoxSpectacular · 19/04/2021 00:06

@Nodal

No, he was a friend of Ros’s husband, I think.

Steve, is that you?

ImpatiensI · 19/04/2021 00:08

@WitnessNotSuspect

did anyone notice how upset Jo seemed at the death of the OCG member in the lock up I thought she looked relieved and happy he was dead.
Very difficult to tell with KMs acting. She's supposed to be living in a turmoil of fear and guilt but mostly looks like someone with a dicky tummy. Disappointing since she's the main new character.

@peachgreen Thanks

Am I the only one worried about Kate's son ? Smile
Does she ever see him ?

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 19/04/2021 00:12

Nodal I'm trying to figure that out too

Tommy Hunter is the OCG boss in S1, goes into witness protection and (probably) gets killed in S2 AND he is in Danny Waldron's list of abusers at the Sands View boys home so I guess he is one link but there might be more.

Maybe the implication is that anyone involved in the abuse scandal is more likely to be OCG because they can be blackmailed over it.

TheSpottedZebra · 19/04/2021 00:12

I still think the 4 baddies/ H thing is a load of shite. There are way more baddies than that. All sorts of bad too -ocg involvements, child serial exploitation involvement, plain old corruption for money, etc etc. Also, there must be more than one ocg.

So maybe dot was just trying to say Hunter is alive? And it is all a double bluff? Hunter was in an ocg, got arrested and then he agreed to inform. Then he was in that car jacking/ fire thing where the police were helping (who?) bump him off. And we thought he survived but then was killed by police in hospital..

But maybe he didn't die, and is still helping flush out police ocg involvement? But AC12 don't know that. And in the meantime, there are a load more OCGs and a load more bent coppers.

@Nodal

He was a friend of Nick Huntley and acted as Nick’s lawyer during his questioning.

I’m 3/4 way through season 4, so can’t yet remember why Lakewell ended up in prison (no spoilers anyone, I’ll have caught up by tomorrow night!)

Furries · 19/04/2021 00:18

@hodgebit - I’m not going to requite your post, but I really hope you’re joking!

I’m going to report it, just in case! If you were joking then apologies. If not, then PLEASE don’t reference possible incoming characters before post has aired.

As you were.

peachgreen · 19/04/2021 00:19

Yes one of the things I like about LoD is that it plays up to the audience's expectations in that way, and that it's sometimes written to be a caricature of itself!

Totally agree. I'm rewatching from S1 at the mo and the early episodes take themselves much more seriously and aren't quite as fun for it, somehow. I'm loving the S2 rewatch because all the catchphrases and tropes are starting to appear but my housemates (who are watching for the first time) can't understand why I'm so gleeful about it all as they're finding it very dark and tense! Whereas I'm internally cheering every time Lindsay Denton comes on screen!

CoolCatTaco · 19/04/2021 00:20

Langham? Mother of God!! LAGAN as in the river that runs through Belfast.
Jesus, Mary & Joseph.

Weddings the root of all evil & never cross a scorned bridesmaid! Grin

But oooh ya bleeder the last time my heart was in my mouth was when I saw car crash! (Luckily the occupants were ok) & I feel like I've just been on all the scary rides at Alton Towers 5 times each in the last hour.

I'm so pleased that decided to do DC's school uniform ironing earlier rather than when watching LoD as I think I would have accidentally ironed myself & burnt through the school shirts.

I wish we could have the final 2 episodes back to back next week.

Garliccoriander · 19/04/2021 00:50

Did anyone else notice in the police photo that one was called Rotherham?

BruceAndNosh · 19/04/2021 01:04

When James Nesbitt's eyebrows appeared, DH and I both yelled "you're in the wrong series!" (having ploughed through all of Bloodlands)

I'm really regretting only binge watching LOD from series 3 onwards.
I haven't a clue about Tommy Hunter.

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/04/2021 01:09

@Netaporter

I took a screenshot of Ted’s photos in case we need the names. I am waaaaay too invested in this 😂
Oh, they will be needed all right. Mercurio wouldn't have done that by accident. I'm already wondering if Burnside in the back row is connected to Burnside who was a bent copper in The Bill Grin

Also, I think Jo tried to save Kate at the last minute and got herself killed. In the Line of Duty. (because she loved Kate)

Nodal · 19/04/2021 02:21

So. I reckon the boy and girl walking along the quay towards Marcus dodgy cops boat (James Nesbitt) was Chloe and her brother, Christopher Lawrence, the boy killed in police custody. Killed because both were caught up in the child sexual abuse ring somehow and that's why he was killed and she is out for revenge. (if not her, maybe Lisa?)

GillBiggeloesHair · 19/04/2021 05:28

On Teds old photo there is an officer called McCandles. I'm sure we've heard that name before.

LutherRalph1 · 19/04/2021 06:03

The photo of James Nesbitt was taken long after Christopher would have died as he did a bunk to Spain no?

LutherRalph1 · 19/04/2021 06:05

Did you hear that when Ted ran out
Of Ac-12 at the end to go to Kate, he said "that's one of my officers out there"
Kate still being undercover, or just because she used to be Ac12v?
