Her Mum, sister and friends have done her proud ❤️

Rollergirl11 · 17/03/2021 22:13

Yes that’s her. That’s exactly what I thought, they were almost identical.

So very very sad. Poor woman Sad

Imnotdoingthis · 17/03/2021 22:16

Just so very sad. How would her character be described, was she just a person who felt too much or Is that a type of mental illness?
The press vilified her, poor poor girl

ooherrmissus14 · 17/03/2021 22:16

It was so tragic to watch. She clearly had a history of mental health issues and it was so brave of those interviewed to acknowledge how difficult to manage they found that sometimes. Supporting someone with mental health issues can be so hard and exhausting and they clearly carry a lot of guilt about those feelings now. So sad for Caroline and everyone close to her x

hamstersarse · 17/03/2021 22:17

I didn’t know she had such a long history of self harm and depression.
Painfully sad.

The last few months of her life seemed unbearable

userxx · 17/03/2021 22:19

Heartbreaking for her friends and family, the guilt they are carrying is painful to see. She wore her mask well, I'll give her that 😞

purrswhileheeats · 17/03/2021 22:24

So much sympathy for her mum and sister, I don't think they'll ever get to the bottom of it.

I always wonder if Caroline meant to do it or if she wanted to be found and saved. I tried once in my late teens and have thought about it many times in recent years but always bottled out.

CarolNoE · 17/03/2021 22:26

I read the documentary team/film makers had met with Caroline with a view to working with her, shortly before her death. With that "groundwork" in place they swapped tack to make this programme...very poignant. Especially after last night's BBC1 programme with Roman Kemp regarding male mental health/suicides (not seen a thread on that). Both very honest and thought provoking.

Roman's documentary was incredibly brave too, both so emotional to watch. It's heartbreaking for those left behind, questioning themselves and feeling guiltily for not being able to stop it from happening.

I’m sorry, but imo Lewis Burton acted like a spineless t*%t, the press was disgraceful and the police too. She was in fact a very vulnerable person because of her MH issues, but because she was a public figure, she was considered to be “fair game” by all these parties. That’s just my (humble and not intended to be malicious) opinion-in a free country.

GabsAlot · 17/03/2021 22:38

im sorry for her family but why is it still ok to forget what she did to her boyfriend and alledegy other boyfriends

MadeForThis · 17/03/2021 22:41

So so sad.

Wantocrawlintoadarkcave · 17/03/2021 22:47

I hesitate to comment because Caroline Flack has had enough people commenting on her life.

Her family came across as absolutely lovely, and thoughtful and kind. And I think CF should be remembered as they spoke about her , as they were the people who knew her best. They said she was not fragile, and frankly no one, fragile or not, should have to put up with all of that vile comment on-line and in the media.

From a wider perspective, I think Caroline Flack's life is so true of many people who suffer internally with their mh. What her mother said is right , there is still a stigma out there even though everyone is encouraged nowadays to talk about their mh. There isn't sufficient help available either when they do talk. Many people who suffer from mental health issues are stilll deeply ashamed about it. And they shouldn't be, because it takes ten times the strength to achieve things and live your life with a mental illness, than it does without. I know this from direct experience of someone in my close family who was a wonderful person, with huge strength, humour, joie de vivre and kindness who died in a mental hospital far too young. But like CF, her illness was only a small part of who she was.

RIP Caroline Flowers

Flowers very brave documentary. Thinking of her family. Such a waste of life of a beautiful women.

No one is forgetting it.

The documentary didnt paint her as some angel. She was a damaged person, with faults and flaws. And the media exploited that.

GabsAlot · 17/03/2021 23:13

maybe the media should come under fire as they overstep all the time but having had a relative suffer from DA i just have less smpathy

yes she had mh problems i do too but i dont go round whacking people over the head

Given the domestic violence and allegations from her ex about abuse, I do wonder this too. Clearly she had many good qualities, was very loved by her family, and any abusive behaviour likely stemmed from her own insecurities and trauma - but you know what, that is the same for most abusers. I don't think we'd be making documentaries this way and #bekind-ing for a bloke who hit his girlfriend with a lamp and whose ex went on Insta to say that it was history repeating, no matter whether the girlfriend wanted to press charges or how big his underlying emotional challenges were.

This whole story is really sad, but also makes me very uncomfortable.

GabsAlot · 17/03/2021 23:21

thankyou rubiscon

exactly when its man abusing a woman mh doesnt even count yet she alledgedly abused several boyfriends but because she had mh its excused and she was a nice girl and we cant say anything

Badadabing · 18/03/2021 00:32

“When Lewis was with Caroline she gave him about £25,000 to pay off his debts. Plus she paid for absolutely everything in their lives – rent, clothes, food, going out, holidays"

let's not forget this ^ ^

He take her money and messages other females....but she still said she loved him.

Lost everything, it's all incredibly sad.

Lavanderrose · 18/03/2021 00:34

The tabloids went way to far with the level of detail they published, photos, stories, headlines , it was cruel even...She isn’t the only celebrity to have committed a crime, and she certainly won’t be the last. Suicide is devastating for the family and friends left behind so it’s really sad. It makes me think of Meghan markle (who hasn’t committed a crime) and all the hate/death threats she receives. It’s awful and never justified.

RoseRedRoseBlue · 18/03/2021 00:47

@OverTheRubicon I agree. There is a whole different side to this story, and the whole thing is a sad and sorry tale.

Me too. Both her and And Peters laughing. Shocking.. I couldn't believe it.

I feel very sad for her and those close to her.

But I've heard more than one story about her being abusive to boyfriends; the police were right in their actions.

MH issues are an explanation but not an excuse.
