Anyone just see it? Good for her. What a horrible tag line. They're clueless.

Clearly a publicity stunt

Clearly a publicity stunt
You clearly don’t understand the meaning of the term.
pabloescobarselasticband · 17/03/2021 10:34

@Alsohuman please explain?

MirandaWestsNewBFF · 17/03/2021 10:37

Well done Patsy!

Roussette · 17/03/2021 10:38

Why on earth is it a publicity stunt?

She was there to talk about fitness, hair business, live over there.

The strapline talked of her being an addict after she left that behind a long long time ago. She politely told them that and left.

Precisely. How could it be a publicity stunt when she didn’t know she was going to be branded an addict by GMB? Publicity stunts involve meticulous planning, they’re not serendipitous.

Because the ratings at GMB have gone through the floor since Piers went. So either they have done it knowing the reaction she would give or she was complicit in it all along! Now its all over the papers and social media, so lots of free publicity for both GMB and Patsy.
HeartsAndClubs · 17/03/2021 10:43

Publicity stunt.

I suspect that walking off set is going to become the new way to earn publicity since Piers Morgan did it. His clip went viral, I have little doubt that her’s will too and she’ll have people talking about her, looking out for whatever product it is she’s selling/endorsing, and buying her book.

This way she has far more than the GMB viewers talking about her.

Plenty of people who don’t watch GMB will now have watched it, and plenty on here are saying how fabulous she is.

Roussette · 17/03/2021 10:46

Now that is the best news I've heard all morning!

I also don't know how on earth they would predict she would stop the interview... that's a bit of a reach...

She was complicit in this? She arranged it with GMB?! 😂🤣😂

That's exactly how these things work!! They may not have known exactly how she would react but if she has a reputation in the business as being temperamental or outspoken it wouldn't have been to hard to predict!
NonWinery · 17/03/2021 10:49

I doubt that was a publicity stunt.

Thewiseoneincognito · 17/03/2021 10:50

Serious question- why do you all start your day off watching that hideously negative programme? I can’t imagine anything worse than absorbing all of that negativity and judgment of others in the early part of the day.

Alsohuman · 17/03/2021 10:52

That's exactly how these things work!!

It really isn’t, which is why I said you don’t know the meaning of it.

pabloescobarselasticband · 17/03/2021 10:54

@Alsohuman so as i asked before, please explain?

Roussette · 17/03/2021 10:55

Thewise I haven't watched GMB for years and years.

I did however watch the clip.

That's exactly how these things work!! They may not have known exactly how she would react but if she has a reputation in the business as being temperamental or outspoken it wouldn't have been to hard to predict!

If that's the case (and I really don't think so), GMB are in more trouble than I first thought.
You intimated that Patsy and GMB decided it in advance between them!

Yes, I agree they could well have been deliberately provocative, they are the DailyMail of the breakfast shows after all

Alsohuman · 17/03/2021 10:58
@Alsohuman so as i asked before, please explain?
I have.

CtrlU · 17/03/2021 11:00

Good on her!

Cheeseandlobster · 17/03/2021 11:02

Initially I thought that it was ok as it was a quote from her own book but if the said book was 14 years ago and she wasnt there to talk about the book then I get it.

Re the bad mood. I am guessing it was the middle of the night there and she was probably waiting to go to bed / back to bed

ComDummings · 17/03/2021 11:06

Good on her, it was rude and irrelevant for them to reference her past addiction problems.

MintyMabel · 17/03/2021 11:13

I think Patsy could have handled it more elegantly. All she needed to say was “can you take down the strap line please, I don’t define myself as an addict anymore.”

Yes, yes, women should be far more elegant and quiet and reserved when people are offensive towards them. No need to show any actual emotion, nobody wants to see that.

VanillaIce · 17/03/2021 11:33

Oh fgs, don’t make it a gender issue. I’d have said exactly the same were it a male guest.

NonWinery · 17/03/2021 11:35

She doesn't need to be elegant about it. She came across really well as it was. She saw the angle they were taking, didn't want to be part of it, and she left. Which is fine.

DumplingsAndStew · 17/03/2021 11:38

@VanillaIce

I think Patsy could have handled it more elegantly. All she needed to say was “can you take down the strap line please, I don’t define myself as an addict anymore.” They’d have got the message and she could have flogged whatever she was on to flog. If the information is in the public domain (she hawked her story around for years until something better came along) and she has previously defined herself as an addict then it’s unreasonable to expect it never to be mentioned again.

GMB is sensationalist tv though - she knows that, she all know it. No need for a flounce.

How often do you watch a man do an interview and think "He could have been more elegant"?
pabloescobarselasticband · 17/03/2021 11:40

@Alsohuman where have you explained?

sandragreen · 17/03/2021 11:45

I have met PP and in RL she is absolutely lovely.

I think she has a touch of resting bitch face but she was entitled not to continue with the interview if she didn't want to.

Why on earth would she be interested in answering questions about ex members of the Royal Family or whatever they are now?
