@CovidCrow

Yes that can't be nice, your mum stealing your thunder. Also the grandchild/grandparent dynamic is thwarted somehow.
Tbf with Sue having a baby every year or so the DC having their own kids must just assume that it’s a given she’ll be pregnant or having a baby at the same time as them. Most of the younger kids must have an aunt or uncle who is born in the same year as them Confused
CoffeeRunner · 25/02/2021 20:14

@PinkSpring

I have just watched this and the thing I don't get is how do they afford all what they have?!

I saw two expensive and what looked like fairly new cars, a french bulldog, a hot tub, £400 per week on just food shopping......

I just don't get how they can do it if they "don't claim benefits". They must get child benefit for some of those children, a pie shop cannot generate the level of income they seem to have - so how the hell do they do it?!

The official line is that the pie shop supports them all.

The truth is that their TV & online work will be their main source of income.

rawalpindithelabrador · 25/02/2021 20:16

They were teenage, unmarried parents (and she well under age) and 2 of their daughters have gone on to become the same. They've bred over 20 kids no thought for the cost to society or the environment. They're raking in huge amount in child benefit and possibly legacy benefits. And this is to be applauded how?

Wondermule · 25/02/2021 20:18

I agree about all the environmental stuff, but part of me is envious of how relaxed Sue is, it does seem she is suited to the chaos of a big family. I’m a worrier and wish I could be that laid back!

whatsthestory123 · 25/02/2021 21:50

omg that tattle is very funny

Springinmystep82 · 25/02/2021 22:03

@SquirtleSquad

They only claim child benefit in terms of benefits apparently which for their eligible children is about £190 a week so that's almost £10k a year. Things were different, I'd assume, before the benefits cap but who knows!
I'm sure she said in an interview they received tax credits as well. A view years ago now.
Springinmystep82 · 25/02/2021 22:10

The children all seem happy and they will never be lonely in life.

ScrumptiousBears · 25/02/2021 22:33

So is the house theirs or rented?

purpleme12 · 25/02/2021 22:33

They own it

creepingthyme · 25/02/2021 23:07

wondermule I get the feeling that Sue has some type of learning difficulties that don't enable her to have a grasp on reality. If you watched their vlogs their household is a serious accident waiting to happen. I don't think she is like that because she's laid back, more doesn't have appropriate responses to events.

Wondermule · 25/02/2021 23:16

creeping oh Sad what’s wrong with the house? I can’t say I’ve noticed any glaring learning difficulties when she is on camera.

I don't think they seem happy. It's a very chaotic household. Several of the children have made it clear they don't want any more siblings, because more babies means more disruption, more noise and sharing with yet another sibling as they move the rooms around. I think it must be hard having to constantly share your space with several others, and never having 1-1 time with your parents. I often wonder if they'd notice if one of the children was struggling, it must be so easy for problems to fly under the radar.
Blondeshavemorefun · 26/02/2021 07:07

Interesting they only showed the play side

Not the harsh home schooling March to June/July of last year think 7/8 children

Also Millie said she didn’t use protection, didn’t expect to get preg and didn’t worry about std as she knew him for years 🙄 and isn’t with him now , was together for 6mths

Silly girl / didn’t her mum having a baby practically every year teach her anything

And more so wouidnt uou as parents say use protection

Millie wasn’t with her baby’s father for 6 months. It was a drunken one night stand at a party. The boy already had a girlfriend, too.

I agree that it’s all a serious accident waiting to happen. The little ones are always crawling all over the kitchen island right near the hob, they go in Chloe’s bedroom, steal scissors and cut each other’s hair. They were on the top floor with a hairdryer burning the carpet with a hairdryer while Sue was wandering about downstairs away with the fairies.

There’s no structure or routine. It’s absolute chaos. God knows how the poor kids are managing to do their homeschooling.

Macaronirabbit · 26/02/2021 07:52

In one of the programmes years ago they went on holiday to a crowded beach and I felt stressed out watching it, thinking you'd never be able to relax trying to keep an eye on all the (younger) kids and make sure they werent wandering off/getting lost/going in the sea unsupervised. I think I'd be constantly doing a head count, and it wouldnt feel like a holiday at all!

Same4Walls · 26/02/2021 08:15

I agree with other posters many of the children don't seem happy at all. Several of them said years ago they didn't want any more siblings as they already knew this would mean they were ignored more and yet their parents continued having more children. Their priority should be the children already here but that won't keep bringing in the viewers, gifted items or keep them in the news.

There is also no way that if there was an issue at school or one of their children was struggling they would notice. It would be so easy for things like bullying, eating disorders or additional needs to fall under the radar as they don't have enough time to make sure any more than their very basic of needs are met.

I also strongly agree that the whole set up is an accident waiting to happen. It's down to sheer dumb luck that nothing terrible has already happened in my opinion.

louise5754 · 26/02/2021 09:28

I enjoy watching them and I don't want to be having a go but I did wonder if a child got sat on / pushed under in the hot tub would they notice. I also noticed the little boy stood on the wall when Noah went to register the baby. I'm not saying they are neglectful as accidents happen and there are so many to watch,

louise5754 · 26/02/2021 09:31

Just noticed I cross posted with the last few re accidents etc.

SquirtleSquad · 26/02/2021 09:31

@louise5754 I know what you mean, the adult to child ratio is way off to be able to know what they're all uptoZz

louise5754 · 26/02/2021 09:33

I wonder if she needs therapy. This can't be normal. I suffer with a few MH issues and I
know it's easy to just blame it on that. Obviously unless someone thinks they need help how can they ask for it.

I bet they don't know where their young teenagers are. I wonder how many others will be young mums / dads after all they think it's normal to have kids extremely young.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/02/2021 09:51

The ie thing isn’t true

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/02/2021 09:54

But then Alfie (rip) and Archie are ie boys
Doesn’t make sense

judgingcat · 26/02/2021 09:56

They moved from channel 4 because of the way they filmed the last episodes of Sue being all stressed out and arguing. They got so much back lash for it.
I like the radfords but I do think it's selfish to have so many children, you can tell the oldest children have to help/look after the younger children and the fact there's no baby gates on doors etc is worrying.

AaronPurr · 26/02/2021 09:57

The ie thing isn’t true

I thought it was that they wanted the girls names to end in e. Which is why Heidie has an e on the end?

So they added another letter and butchered the name to keep the theme.

BikeRunSki · 26/02/2021 10:03

It was “e” not “ie”, and only girls.
Tenuous at best, accidental/not deliberate I’d imagine. And Bonnie, Amiee, Tillie are pretty normal spellings.
