Alot of these comments are really shortsighted. They used to go on holidays on the show that would of been part of their payment as content. They couldnt do it this time so theyl of had the garden done up as content as part of their payment.

The reason they will take primary aged kids out and leave toddlers and older ones at home is because they wont cause Chloe hassle or answer her back and run riot like early primary age do.

Noel will of been told to pick the kids up and tell them about Millies baby being on the way, irs part of the narritive of that show as well as the running machine in the livingroom and going pram shopping for Millie and the baby shower. Which they are allowed to have becasue they are recording for TV. If you look at the likes of made in Chelsea they are all partying together and hair and make ups allowed for programmes. The whole cake thing being bashed was likely also set up.

Theyl earn a fortune from sponsorships and gifts and ads they do for social media, youtube views, the tv deals and the pie shop etc they will be making a decent amount.

Scbsch I can't see most of the comments this morning but I think the Duggars set the bar high (not Josh tho) for their earliest programmes and I think the Radfords just can't compete as they don't have the basic structure or story. The Duggars were interesting because they had a different lifestyle which was very accessible for the cameras (homeschooling, building their own house, kids had chores and buddies to look after, they did actually go out and buy their own food at $800 a time) and they stayed true to their values for most of it although they did also take extravagant holidays as they got more rich, but I think that this too was when they got less relevant for viewers. But they had a faith-based reason for not trying to prevent pregnancies and they were clear what their motives were and that the show helped pay their bills so they could build their big-enough home. They were on a zero-debt lifestyle plan and were very open about using charity shops and handing down clothes and driving old cars or buses, and running multiple businesses to fund their huge family.

Then the Radfords with their new expensive pram for each baby and not handing down clothes, well for me I'm just not interested in watching that. It doesn't resonate at all with me and this is the type of show I normally love! I found it really disappointing TBH. Then we watched I Am Greta as a family and wow, that did resonate with us. So I'll shut up now as clearly I'm not feeling this programme Grin

woodhill · 13/03/2021 11:00

I don't think they are sending the right message at the moment in times of financial hardship for a lot of people

Yes, the Duggar family are much more on my wavelength

I certainly dont begrudge them earning money through other means - heck if I had cameras in my face, in the house all day long showing literally my dirty washing, I'd want some recompense for that.
I think the issue is that (even on the narration of the programme itself) the theory is all this is possible from 1 or 2 peoples salary at a small pie shop. There cant be many people, even with a decent salary, who could support maybe 15+ other people on their wage. And the radfords have made (or been approached or encouraged to) themselves the stars of vlogs and tv shows which has presumably helped them to house, feed, clothe their children. But somehow still perpetuate the story that the bakery is funding it all.

I think this sums it up very well. Even now, any critisism or negative comment is usually met with a backlash from fans / the family along the lines of They don't claim any benefits, they have a job, the bakery pays for it Now i'm sure the bakery is popular, even more so when it's advertised via the TV programs, but the insistence from the Radfords / their fans that it's how they manage to pay for their lifestyle just blatantly isn't true.

Sue is definitely wearing a Canada goose coat in the newest trailer, and in white/cream too. I'd be so worried wearing something that expensive around that many little kids with grabby and grubby fingers. I'm not saying their kids in particular aren't clean, but no toddler avoids having sticky or grubby little paws at some point during the day.

Could be an eBay. I doubt they would spend 800 on a coat or that Canada Goose would consider Sue Radford a suitable ambassador for their outdoor weather gear.
CherryTwin · 14/03/2021 20:38

I bet they get paid a fortune for their TV series. I bet the Canada Goose coat is real and was bought brand new!

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/03/2021 20:47

Of course they do, that's why they do them.
The magic pie shop doesn't pay for them all, and never did, even before they were on TV.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 14/03/2021 21:58

Noel was lamenting that they could have an expensive Italian sports car sitting in their (non-existent) driveway if they hadn't spent so much money on prams.

But they've got about £75,000 worth of SUVs parked in the road outside. The Range Rover Evoque, and the Peugeot 3008 add up to that easily!

Why haven't they turned some of that front garden into off-road parking? There's loads of room!

Wondermule · 14/03/2021 22:03

Good. About time they paid some tax back into the system rather than relying on the pie shop!
SquirtleSquad · 14/03/2021 23:04

@Wondermule i wouldn't assume it's all taxed in black and white.. they could fairly easily put it through their media business with lots of expenses like the outings, the cars...etc offset against tax and pay themselves a minimal wage. I think someone previously pointed out Noel pays himself just under the cap for the child benefit limit.

CauliflowerCheese30 · 15/03/2021 16:02

I've just looked on the website for the pie shop, there is nothing to order? Or is it me being blind? So how can they be making money from the online side of it, when you can't actually order anything?

SquirtleSquad · 15/03/2021 16:56

Nope there's nothing for sale at all at the moment, weird.

MyDcAreMarvel · 15/03/2021 16:58

It says they are “catching up with the orders”

The episode tonight is the party one, surely they know by putting out this, they are going to be ripped to shreds considering we have been in a pandemic for a year Confused.

SquirtleSquad · 15/03/2021 20:29

I though the same about lockdown, wondering where they took the little ones for the night and how they had so many people over. Her birthday was in July so was this filmed before the kids went back to school and before the baby shower.

Genuine question but if they had extra people over, I might be mistaken but Ibdidn't recognise all the people in the trailer as their children surely they could be liable for a fine?
WheeshtTheNoo · 15/03/2021 20:56

I've had a quick nosey at their IG, they were in Scotland in July with the little ones so I guess that is how the older ones managed a party. I'm surprised the neighbours didn't report them....noise from the little kids and parties from the older ones. I would hate to stay right next door.

whatsthestory123 · 15/03/2021 21:39

sue is wearing Tommy Hilfiger now
