They don't seem short of cash that's for sure.
They've had the new windows, roof re-slated, getting new carpets upstairs and redecorated. The furniture in the dining room looks recent and the kitchen is new. Plus the new cars as mentioned.

They've lost their USP (if they ever had it) of how a large family manages to have a decent life while having normal jobs/business.

macaronirabbit · 09/03/2021 10:21

I've never understood the new pram for every baby thing (which was mentioned on the first programme in 2012, so before they had their youtube and instagram channels)
After the first few babies which were a few years apart, surely she would need doubles, tandem or even triple prams when most of the kids are a year apart? Where do they store them all??Confused

And yes agree with PP about why Millie wouldnt have been present to choose/test a pram. I was confused why all the little ones had to be there - they looked a bit of a PITA to be honest playing on the prams and cots, and I couldnt understand why Sue and Noel didnt need to wear masks in the shop?

SquirtleSquad · 09/03/2021 10:26

@macaronirabbit their mask wearing has been random throughout the show, half on and off in the uniform shop, not on at all at the pram shop, on at the hospital.. who knows!

The pram thing is ridiculous, they tag EggStrollerUK in all of the Instagram pics of the prams and accessories for it but very very rarely declare anything as an #ad #gifted or #partnership, I imagine the ASA would have a field day if they looked closely at their online deceptions.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/03/2021 13:38

Poor tillie. I’ve watched this fir a few years. Think was 15 kids when started

Same4Walls · 09/03/2021 13:50

I thought sue and Noel met in care

To the best of my knowledge although I'm happy to be corrected they were both adopted as very small babies and met because Noel was Sue's brother's mate.

SquirtleSquad · 09/03/2021 13:52

Yeah I think that's her adopted mother

miserablecat · 09/03/2021 14:14

I'm sure they were both adopted but knew each other from a young age.

CovidCrow · 09/03/2021 14:28

Excuse me, excuse me can we get the baby's name correct please? It's not Heidi it's Heidie or maybe Hiedie WinkGrin

And yes they were adopted as babies. (The 'in care' thing comes up time and again as an excuse for the, ahem, age difference).

Warrickdaviesasplates · 09/03/2021 14:29

@Blondeshavemorefun both of Sues parents have been in previous shows. They used to have to watch the children while Sue was in hospital adding to the collection.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/03/2021 14:33

I feel like they’re quite flippant and wasteful when it comes to money. We’re buying our 19 year old a £1500 pram. I personally don’t think they come across well nor particularly honest. The no hand me downs, the £1500 pram, the 5k hot tub. It’s all a bit uncomfortable. I think most of us know that raising that many kids wouldn’t be so wonderful and jolly. Nor is it as easy as they make it out to be.

Same4Walls · 09/03/2021 14:57

I agree. That's why I'm always amazed when somoene says they only rely on the money from the pie shop. If they were seriously only relying on one income they would be so careful with their spending.

I also worry for the younger children who have never known anything other than £300 quid birthday present piles and constantly being gifted toys and clothes. I think they will really struggle when the money from tv, social media and their vlogging begins to dry up and they are not constantly getting new things.

miserablecat · 09/03/2021 15:11

I imagine even someone with a well paid job would struggle to support more than 20 people comfortably on one salary (without bonuses, benefits, or other "extras")
Food, birthdays and xmas would come to 30k alone, (assuming few hundred for birthdays and xmas) without any other living expenses!
Then you've got bills, clothes, fuel, car insurance and mortgage and basic expenses
And then stuff like home and garden improvements, prams, treadmills (I know it was old but was probably between 500-1k which is not an every day expense!)

RevolvingPivot · 09/03/2021 15:56

@Blondeshavemorefun
What did you mean about 3 generations? I've tried to look back on here. I haven't watched this week.

I saw a post where sue was pictured with Heidi and Ophelia saying 3 generations and I thought did she mean 2 I know One is a niece and the other an aunt but the same generation no?

Sue posed for a 4 generation photo with Millie, heidieeieieieieie, her adoptive mother and herself.
Noel pointed out they are 3 generations, not 4 because Heidieieie and Millie are the same generation even though Millie is about to have a child of her own the same age on the show.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/03/2021 16:05

Sorry picking up from school

Yes sue said it was 4 generations. Mum. Her. Millie. Heidi

Noel said it was 3

Sue looked puzzled abs Noel had to tell her Heidie and Millie same generation

Tech could be four with Millie bump 😂

I was surprised to see so many branded groceries, like the cereals would be £3 a box alone but probably £1 in aldi. I remember when Noel used to be really strict with money and working out money per person for main meals wasn't ever more than about 50p

Lorddenning1 · 09/03/2021 16:14

Did anyone else notice when Sue was taking her daughter to the hospital to have her baby, there was a shot of them walking in the car park towards the hospital and the daughter who is in labour is smoking a cigarette!!
I know it's everyone choice to do this even when pregnant but why would they include this on TV, I know I sound very judgemental but I was just surprised.

CovidCrow · 09/03/2021 16:29

😱
No I didn't notice but it doesn't surprise me they're not the brightest are they?

Wonder if Sue and Noel smoke then?

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/03/2021 17:05

@Lorddenning1 yes

Not that clear pic but she def got a cig in right hand

It made me feel a bit sad that Tillie was left alone to do her exercises- surely it would be better to not only have company for that but someone there making sure she was doing them correctly or at least vouching for her at the next appointment with her consultant? Not to mention if the poor girl has mobility issues being left alone in the hot tub can’t be safe?!

The £1500 pram made me feel a bit... icky. They (N, S and the narrator) must have mentioned how much it cost about 4 times. It’s up to them how much they want to spend (I think that much money on a pram is mental personally but I’ve never been in a position to spend that much) but it felt like the most important thing to remember was how much it cost and that they basically shit money now. Speaking of prams, as they get a new one with every baby and some of the age gaps are under a year, what do they do with all the old ones they no longer use? Sell them on? Donate them? Skip them? Some must be barely used.

GladysTheGroovyMule · 09/03/2021 17:32

Oh and the cost of the hot tub. £5k. I can’t decide if channel 5 are setting them up to be scrutinised by viewers sat at home watching and wondering how the magic pie shop pays for all this really expensive stuff.

Lorddenning1 · 09/03/2021 17:43

@Blondeshavemorefun yeah it was definitely a cig and she held it to her mouth and then looked like she threw it on the floor but she went passed a big sign before we saw the smoke come out of her mouth, not that I was Stalking her or anything Grin
