Anybody know when it starts? All I've found is this Radio Times article saying it will start before the end of March this year. www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/line-of-duty-season-six-release-date/ Kelly Macdonald is due to guest star.

Can't wait!

(Apologies if there's another thread, I couldn't find one.)

I love it, I never watched it but I’m on series 3 now and I love it.

Kate’s so brave.

CheekyWeeShite · 21/03/2021 15:57

Perhaps he was actually bashing his nails together repeatedly and they’ll reveal the culprit is a new character called ACC Hammer.

(I joke, but only just. Regardless it’s all good fun - I just so hope this isn’t another Lost).

AuntieStella · 21/03/2021 16:06

I assumed that his nickname was "Dot" because his surname was Cotton

Yes, I'm sure that was said

I'm not persuaded that, if it is four, that Gill should count as one of them because she's a lawyer not a copper

Dailyhandtowelwash · 21/03/2021 16:10

Yes, his nickname was Dot because of Cottan, but was he then using that fact to suggest that there were actually four ‘Dots’ eg play on words - four dots in morse code and four ‘Dots’ eg bent coppers?

Hilton is so far the only one who you could count in that four with an ‘H’ name.

Northernexile · 21/03/2021 16:15

But what about Hargreaves? Wasn't he also bent? Is he one of the four H's? I really should have watched S5 again before tonight.

CheekyWeeShite · 21/03/2021 16:19

Was about to say the same about Hargreaves and Gill but am rewatching S5 as I don’t remember specifics

Rollergirl11 · 21/03/2021 16:27

I thought it was that there is now 4 H’s. Hilton was one, Hargreaves another. How was Hastings disproved from being H? I can’t remember!

There are also a couple of names that appeared on both Danny Waldron’s list and on the list of high-ranking police officers with names beginning with H (AC-12 created this list to get to the bottom of who had promoted Dot because that as who they thought was the man pulling the strings on the inside). I was really hoping those names would be explored Series 5 but it never came to anything. Perhaps it will be explored in this series!

Buggerthebotox · 21/03/2021 16:31

Trouble is, so many cops are bent: we've got Prasad, Gates, Baines, Cole, Denton, Dryden, Hilton, Huntley, Hargreaves and possibly Ted, all of whom are bent in some way. But are any of them H? I think it's probably a random codename.

Buggerthebotox · 21/03/2021 16:33

Yes, the other names on the list haven't been mentioned since s3. It would be good to have some closure on those.

CrystalE · 21/03/2021 16:35

Do you think there is any chance that Lindsey Denton might come back - I loved her

Maybe even in a video message from beyond the grave ..

Rollergirl11 · 21/03/2021 16:39

Yep. There was also the Scottish police officer who was protecting Tommy Hunter. What was her name?

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/03/2021 16:43

Noble Ted is not corrupt.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeep

I refer you to Item 1 AAA in your folders.

Item I AAA is a print out of Ted's bank records for the last umpteen years. It reveals that he has lived in a scuzzy hotel room for ages and ages and has spent nothing on himself other than socks and underwear (multi packs, bought in sales). What is the point in being corrupt if you don't benefit from it?

Item 2 BBB in your packs.

Item 2 BBB is video of Gill Biggeloe's interrogation at the end of S5. She sent the "Urgent Exit" request but there was no response. BUT someone still gave surly redhead cop the order to Kill Gill. This demonstrates that H is still extant but could not be Ted because he was under observation by cameras the whole time.

Beeeeeeeeeep

Rollergirl11 · 21/03/2021 16:44

It doesn’t help that the recording of Dot’s dying declaration has changed since the first time we saw it so it’s difficult to remember what was said the first time. The first time we saw Kate taking a voice recording at the scene but in later series it morphed in to a video recording!

LagganBubble · 21/03/2021 16:52

I just hope Ted's toilet has been fixed

Dailyhandtowelwash · 21/03/2021 17:10

No, there are not four Hs. There are four bent coppers (or insiders, if Gill was meant to be one of them). Hargreaves was NOT one of the four as he turned bad after Dot died, so couldn’t have been included (this was revealed in passing dialogue in series 5 so easy to miss).

The list is now irrelevant as the Big Baddie is no longer ‘H’ but a fourth police officer as yet unknown but of any initial. (Or one called Forth, which would be hilarious.)

This is of course until the next version of Dot’s Dying Declaration reveals he was spelling out names with his legs for a different body cam.

I don’t think it was clear whether Gill’s Urgent Exit Required went unanswered because Steve and Kate had preemptively cleared out the AC12 office, or because they didn’t want to rescue her. Obviously they did then try to kill her when she was stuck there.

But the rescue thing has never made sense anyway. Given how terrifying and ruthless the baddies are, surely Dot, and Gill, would just have ended up silenced as the risk would be too much to let them live?

And how did Gill get immunity given that she appears to have told them nothing remotely useful?

Dailyhandtowelwash · 21/03/2021 17:17

No one is H.

The inference (and it’s all inference and always has been!) is that there are people at senior level organising police activity in the pocket of the gang. So of those we know about already, only those whose bentness is related to the gang AND who were organising rather than doing what someone else told them would count in the four that Dot supposedly tries to explain while dying. At the end of series 5 the conclusion appeared to be that the three now known are Dot (even though he wasn’t particularly senior), Hilton and Gill. Everyone else is a distraction.

Rollergirl11 · 21/03/2021 17:21

@Dailyhandtowelwash hah hah!

So Dot blinking while Kate went through the alphabet and him stopping at H is now irrelevant? Where does the 4 come from again? Dot tapping out morse code at the same time as he was blinking?

Dailyhandtowelwash · 21/03/2021 17:23

Yes, apparently Dot blinked on H because morse code for H is four dots. Obviously. And Steve realised this from a still of his hand which, when watched on video, was tapping out four dots.

Name99 · 21/03/2021 17:28

Does anyone know if its going to be week by week or all dropped on iplayer for binge watching?

BurtonHouse · 21/03/2021 17:29

I do hope the Kelly Macdonald character isn't bent, or I'll start to think that Jed has a problem with female police officers....

BurtonHouse · 21/03/2021 17:33

It's week by week, which will be painful having just binge watched all 5 series over 2 weeks. But I expect I'll watch them all again back to back when it's available.
Feeling as excited about tonight as I would be if I was off to meet a lover ☺. Which I definAtely wouldnt be.

SophieB100 · 21/03/2021 17:36

Well, hopefully like Grandma's nightgown the new series will cover everything.
Good work fellas.
We're here for one thing, and one thing only.

Here's an interesting statement from those wee fellas at the Guardian:

What utter shite. That’s so tenuous. Lucky Steve managed to spot it on the video that didn’t exist at the time of Dot’s death, isn’t it? Who recorded it?

So how was Ted cleared again? How did he explain why he got rid of his laptop and spelt ‘definitely’ wrong?
