Anybody know when it starts? All I've found is this Radio Times article saying it will start before the end of March this year. www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/line-of-duty-season-six-release-date/ Kelly Macdonald is due to guest star.

Can't wait!

(Apologies if there's another thread, I couldn't find one.)

@MoonCatcher

Who is KM?
Kelly McDonald, the actress playing Jo.

Thanks Diddl.

Some more thoughts (sorry if already mentioned).

  1. Perhaps the locks on Jo's door are to keep someone in, not out?
  2. Why is Kate wearing a big floooofy jumper? She's a DI, and was always sharply turned out in S5. Is she hiding H under that jumper? She's also engaging with Jo in a rather familiar way - a rather nod-nod, wink- wink kinda way even on a couple of occasions. Jo was miffed at not being called Ma'am by the CHIS sergeant but I haven't heard Kate calling her Ma'am either. I know she's of a higher rank but still..and hand-holding? There's a sense of confidentiality between them that's not sitting quite right imho. Is Jo grooming Kate to gain her trust?

Was there anyone in the car with Jo at the time of the botched ambush other than Kate? Farida looked well miffed throughout that scene - I thought she was just tense but could she be onto something other than a possible romantic relationship between K and J?

Could Kate be in deep undercover

CaptainMyCaptain · 23/03/2021 16:11

Is Jo grooming Kate to gain her trust?
or vice versa.

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 23/03/2021 16:23

It will be clever Kate grooming Jo ...

Which reminds me that I once followed a profession - at some distance and not the police - where the lower orders (ie people with salaries, who could therefore afford their rent and train fares ...) were expected to call me Ma'am. I don't recall that any of them ever did. Good thing, I would have died of embarrassment

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 23/03/2021 16:25

🤔 something from S1 E1. When Steve looks into Tonys service record there's a personal commendation from Assistant Commissioner Harry Bingham for "Banknote Watch"...

Maybe, just maybe, there is an "H"

Ep 2 next. Grin

Hmmph · 23/03/2021 16:51

The locks on the door to keep someone in theory doesn’t work. They could just undo them. Unless I have forgotten, she didn’t lock the door with keys and combination codes on the inside.

I am going to watch the episode again though - I need to!!

As for not recognising people- we were late to LOD and binge watched the first 3 series (as in, one episode every other day). I couldn’t recognise/remember Kate between series as her hair was different. I think I might have face blindness....

storminabuttercup · 23/03/2021 16:53

The lock thing confuses me because there weren't all those in the other house and she'd been living there. If she was scared of her ex she wouldn't go for her stuff surely? So must be a 'new' threat.

Wildswimming3 · 23/03/2021 17:01

And am I right that series 6 Terry is a different actor from series 1 Terry?

Wildswimming3 · 23/03/2021 17:19

@Buggerthebotox I thought Kate looked really frumpy too! That jumper just looked wrong

SingToTheSky · 23/03/2021 17:34

@beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

JovialNickname Yes - if the body parts were dumped with Corbett the fridge will have been removed I guess, but what makes me suspish is the very good clean up in Terry's flat - points towards someone with access to forensics stuff?
Ha, I was watching another show today and someone freaks out and cleans the flat where there’s a dead body - I wanted to yell at them NOOOO they’ll detect traces of cleaning fluids! :o
Earlybirdcatches · 23/03/2021 17:39

I’ve rewatched it now and I think Farida is sus. She calls Steve crying that the main witness is dead, practically claims Jo is to blame then tells him not to call her again, but she was the one who had rung him.

I think Jo is trying to keep an OCG hitman out with all the locks. She’s worried for her safety if she was a bent cop she wouldn’t be scared.

She’s furious with whoever that woman is in the photo because she throws the wine glass at it. Maybe it’s her mum and she was into something illegal that has traced its way back to Jo.

Not sure Jo’s boss is bright enough to be part of the OCG. He seems lazy and all he’s bothered about it what he tells his boss.

Buggerthebotox · 23/03/2021 18:08

@Hmmph I think a couple of those locks needed keys. Big twisty ones. Wink

She perhaps used Farida in order to be away from her own place? Could also be that it's some sort of police safe house hence all the security (I have no idea if these exist like this).

My thoughts are that Farida does know something damaging about Jo, but Jo has dumped her and is setting her up to look like an obsessive/jealous ex-lover in order to discredit her. She perhaps even had a relationship with her in order to buy her silence in some way?

I think LoD is written in a way that means you can join the dots in a number of different ways and lots of the details are never actually filled in through what is shown on screen.

cathybates · 23/03/2021 18:45

The one that killed John Corbett (can’t remember his name) opened the freezer in Terry’s flat and there were legs in there. Those were Jackie Lavertys which were found with the remains of Corbett.

Terry also took the photos of the raid on the kings gate printers. He was def in an earlier series (or more than 1) as I remember Ryan going into his flat picking on him.

I also thought Jo had some relation to Anne Marie Corbett from that photo.

I rewatched series 5 last week but felt like I need to go back to the start and watch it all again!!!

FawnDrench · 23/03/2021 19:03

I think Jo is dodgy.
She requested the wrong type of surveillance at the start, which led to the delay.
It was Kate who assumed Supt. Buckles got it wrong, and Jo didn't correct her when she said it.

Then Jo noticing the "armed robbery"
She has kept Farida's keys for a good reason, whatever that is - probably to plant something incriminating in the house later on, or so she can use the house for something else.

Wildswimming3 · 23/03/2021 19:04

The first Terry is blond with thinning hair.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 23/03/2021 19:21

So some scarcely criminals at all were paid to perform the 'heist' which was probably a setup (presumably by the OCG?)? Was Jo driving when she noticed the white van off the side road?

That's the thing isn't it - all those things about Jo, and I think they're there to make here seem dodgy when I don't actually think she is! I think there's some comparatively minor stuff with Farida which may be fabricated to get away from her, but I don't think she's the big baddy.
PursuingProxemicExactitude · 23/03/2021 19:27

That ripped up jacket was surely pleather not leather? Leather jackets don't have that sort of synthetic lining.

I'm on these lines atm. The woman in the photo potentially a source of blackmail, and Farida too.

Farida picked AC12, knowing it would get back to Kate, and then plays the "You don't know what she's capable of" card... Definitely manipulative!

I mentioned up thread that Dot Cotten's ex worked in forensics. I feel like I need to mention it again because it's the only minute fact I remembered.

(Well OK, I happened to read it on Fandom the other day when I was reminding myself about Dot because I kept mixing Dot up with Neil Morrissey's charcter!! So strictly speaking I didn't remember it at all)

FuckTheCheeseHandler · 23/03/2021 19:48

When Kate spoke to the chis handler, she made a point of calling him Sarge. When jo was in talking to her gaffer, Kate was on the phone. She said ‘how do you spell that?’ And then ‘thanks for getting back to me sarge’ (or words to that effect). Did anyone else think the handler changed his mind and gave her the name or have I got it wrong? Please don’t be a bent bastard Kate!

LaganinaBubble · 23/03/2021 19:48

Did Steve say something about Farida should be contacting AC3 when she first called, as whatever it was wasn't in AC12's jurisdiction? Why would that be?

ChequerBoard · 23/03/2021 20:07

@LaganinaBubble

He though Farida was still working at Polk Street police station, where he had last met her. Each police station is aligned with a specific AC unit so Polk Street is aligned with AC3. Hillside or 'the Hill' is aligned to AC12z
