Anybody know when it starts? All I've found is this Radio Times article saying it will start before the end of March this year. www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/line-of-duty-season-six-release-date/ Kelly Macdonald is due to guest star.

Can't wait!

(Apologies if there's another thread, I couldn't find one.)

Steve didn't look great, did he?

He's not meant to - chronic severe pain and imminent addiction (and seduction by opiate luring OCG......??(

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 22/03/2021 18:45

Jo starts at the beginning of the episode telling lies. Then she takes Farida's keys and is gaslighting her. Farida is going to get set up and made to look like she's bent. Farida made a point of saying 'you don't know what she's capable of'. Farida will either face a Regulation 15 Notice or will die. Or both. But I bet she's the victim not the opposite.

This sounds very plausible. Although, given the surprising amount of security at her own door I wondered if Jo might be reserving Farida's house as an emergency hide-out if things get tricky.

I loved the pace of this episode. Can't remember which interview it was where Jed Mercurio said this series was an opportunity to return to the subtler, more nuanced storytelling of the first two or three series. Think he said the move to BBC1 meant that at first they had to bring more noise and commotion and more obvious plots.

I did find the incidental music a mite too insistent.

Meltinthemiddle · 22/03/2021 19:00

Does Jed actually plant clues through out the series? So many people seem to be rewatching it.

CaptainMyCaptain · 22/03/2021 19:03

@toffeebutterpopcorn

I get everyone mixed up... I’m lucky if I get the sex right!

And I never remember anyone’s name. It makes watching tv with me so much fun.

Same here. I get the middle aged white men mixed up too. I'm just dreadful at remembering faces.
Blondeshavemorefun · 22/03/2021 19:15

@Buggerthebotox

Yes - of course Steve was a DI in S5. Now DS. Interesting. There's a rumour on fandom that he's H because he's StepHen and not Steven. Do we even know?
Noooo

Not our Steve

That would be an amazing double twist

AuntieStella · 22/03/2021 19:28

It's got to be Steve -he would have been bullied out after the anti-terrorism raid. Who saved his sorry ass?

Miraloma · 22/03/2021 19:38

But is our Ted still living in a travelodge? Is his toilet fixed? Mother of god!

Steve is on a classic combo of ibuprofen and codeine. Hope he's got some omperazol too

BenoneBeauty · 22/03/2021 19:42

I must have missed it - how did Jo gaslight Farida?

SingToTheSky · 22/03/2021 19:52

I found myself wondering if Farida is somehow the evil one/manipulative etc but then the lies jo told in the beginning... Aaaagh

I’m reading the full thread now and I’m so jealous of everyone seeing episode 3 as it was meant to be seen. I only started watching on series 4 and saw the dying declaration without the context!

FourWordsImMuNiTy · 22/03/2021 19:53

I don’t think we saw anything specifically showing us that Jo was gaslighting Farida, but because I’ve got a nasty suspicious nature and this show has spent a decade working on my paranoia it occurred to me that her portrayal of Farida as dangerously jealous might be a set-up.

You can see a copy of Steve's prescription here.

1990b · 22/03/2021 19:55

Steve was never a DI he was passed over and Kate was made DI instead

apurplecar · 22/03/2021 19:55

@TheSpottedZebra

All this mixing up of the Asians in this thread is a bit off. They dont all look the same, people.
Everyone is mixing up all the non Asians too.
diddl · 22/03/2021 20:00

The flat that had been cleaned butt still had the pics up-would Terry Boyle have been tall enough to put them where they were?

SingToTheSky · 22/03/2021 20:17

Those mentioning Mark Bonnar character interviews being mesmerising - what episode is this? I might need a skim through. I watched that at a similar time to his series in Unforgotten which I remember being quite moving but now I’m wondering if I’ve got the two mixed up!

VienneseWhirligig · 22/03/2021 20:18

OK wild theory: if Dot isn't dead but is instead in witness protection, would his dying declaration be inadmissible? I have a feeling.

FourWordsImMuNiTy · 22/03/2021 20:19

Episodes 5/6 of series 2 were Mark Bonnar’s interrogations I think.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 22/03/2021 20:20

Mark Bonnar interview is series 2, episode 5.

Welshwabbit · 22/03/2021 20:21

Just saw this. A whole new level of stuff I didn't clock. www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/line-of-duty-h-steve-arnott-morse-code-b1820439.html%3famp

wildthingsinthenight · 22/03/2021 20:24

Ooh I love Mark Bonnar

Silversun83 · 22/03/2021 20:29

@TheSpottedZebra

Yup.
memberofthewedding · 22/03/2021 20:37

Each episode is supposed to be self contained but it does help to have seen the previous series

Mrsmadevans · 22/03/2021 20:37

@putcarpetdown

i fear LOD peaked with Lindsey Denton, she's a hard act to follow alright.
Warsh your mouth out with soap, ye wee rascal Grin
Garliccoriander · 22/03/2021 20:47

I find a lot of the confusion is similar to Game of Thrones. You start to watch it and since the series take up half a lifetime you forget all the pertinent clues are don’t realise the relevance to the story.

NowWeAreFuckingWeasel · 22/03/2021 20:48

Anyone here think that Jo is the sister of John Corbett? I can't remember how old John was when his mother was killed and if the times would correspond with the age Jo was in that picture with her mother.
