Anybody know when it starts? All I've found is this Radio Times article saying it will start before the end of March this year. www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/line-of-duty-season-six-release-date/ Kelly Macdonald is due to guest star.

Can't wait!

(Apologies if there's another thread, I couldn't find one.)

The missing freezer is irrelevant as we know it had Jackie Laverty’s body in it and that was put in John Corbett’s body bag last series. I think it was only mentioned as a nod to that storyline for viewers.

The flat was clean. Too clean.

The fridge if used for a body would not be clean. The point is it that there was a clean up of the flat and any that might be incriminating for forensics was removed.

The whole flat was effectively 'staged' / 'cleaned' in a way which was unnatural. So it sugggests that someone with a good knowledge of forensics is some how involved.

2. The fact that Steve has not received promotions but everyone around him has. Including Kate, the ex GF, Buckells etc. I think there is something in why they are labouring the issue.

Steve has been 'Hastings' man has remained loyal to him - note him saying during the episode that he had stuck it out long enough and he needed to move on and Hastings being sympathetic.

Hastings is starting to feel like he has been shut out in the cold and Kate makes a point of how she's had to work her arse off to get trusted only for it all to revert back to a crime connected to an old AC12 investigate.

Even Farida used to work in AC12.

I think it could be merely about the passage of time and how everyone had moved on or was trying to move on, but the mystery of the last unknown bent copper is still hanging over them and they can't escape this until the bent copper is outted. Otherwise they will all have their careers stunted because they effectively 'know too much' about the crime syndicate that seems to be running throughout all 6 series.

Steve's drug addiction is probably also going to come up - he might have been under performing in some way too (has a habit of this) and this will be used to discredit him at a later stage.

The second theory about a Stalker - and then having Jo who said this have 8 thousand locks on the door possibly are connected.

Got a feeling Jo might “play” Kate a bit to get a reaction from Farinda - to build a profile of her being unstable? Definitely dodgy that she kept the keys.

Jo is definitely trying to make Farida look unhinged. Its an abusive relationship and she's gaslighting Farida. Paranoia or working for someone? The jacket that was slashed? I bet we find out that Farida doesn't remember doing it or was told to in some way by Jo.

I had the same thought re Terry being driven away at the end - wherever he’s going, it’s not going to be safe!

DH shouted at the TV 'well he's dead then!'.

CormoranStrike · 22/03/2021 10:28

Why so many locks? Yet she happily loved in Farida’s home with just a Yale.

And continuity - she breaks up with Farida, goes home, drinks booze and then goes back to the office to confront Buckles? If not, and was the next day, Kate was wearing the same striped top.

CovidCorvid · 22/03/2021 10:31

I bet Jo dies locked in her house at some point, possibly in a fire and can’t get out quick enough. I think Farida is the bent cop.

CormoranStrike · 22/03/2021 10:37

We simply thought lockdown had not been kind to his hair

Furries · 22/03/2021 10:41

@diddl

The link to the easter egg clip.

The rolling headlines!

"waistcoats back in fashion shock", "man floats up Lagan"

They were brilliant! Plus:

“Physicists hail importance of new equation (Hx6)+?.xyz”

And also “house prices surge for streets with great names”

Dailyhandtowelwash · 22/03/2021 10:48

@Buggerthebotox

Earlybird: Ted got the £100k from Mark Moffatt, supposedly as compensation for a bad property investment. It was never traced back to Moffatt.

As far as I can remember, £50k of it was found at Ted's hotel room and he also gave some money (I can't remember if it was £50k or not) to Corbett's wife at the end of S5.

So dodgy as hell. I think Moffatt then disappeared (he was a fed rep in a previous series but had since retired).

Moffatt was obviously linked to the OCG and the money was meant to incriminate Ted. And yes, 50k in his hotel room (and Moffatt had denied giving him any money at all so couldn't say 'hang on, it was 100k) and 50k to Corbett's wife.

But the whole money thing was part of the plotting of series 5 that I found impenetrable.

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 22/03/2021 10:52

Terry was in series one, but played by a different actor. He is a victim of cuckooing by the OCG and it's possible they have set him up, making him look like an obsessive stalker, as he's no longer useful to them.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 22/03/2021 10:53

Yes, that's obviously why it's gone. But finding it doesn't matter - we already know why it was removed, so it's not on the list of mysteries to be solved. Ergo irrelevant. Who removed it is more important.

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 22/03/2021 10:54

Steve had a fling with Lindsey Denton when he was supposed to be investigating her so that may have gone against him when he's applied for promotion, plus he's got injuries from being thrown down the stairs and from being tortured.

Indeed.

We know that someone was tipped off about the investigation and the CHIS. It has to have come from within the investigation.

Jo starts at the beginning of the episode telling lies. Then she takes Farida's keys and is gaslighting her. Farida is going to get set up and made to look like she's bent. Farida made a point of saying 'you don't know what she's capable of'. Farida will either face a Regulation 15 Notice or will die. Or both. But I bet she's the victim not the opposite.

MabelMoo23 · 22/03/2021 11:06

@AvonCallingBarksdale that’s Jolly Rogerson. She used to work for Lester Hargreaves in MIT - she appeared in S2, when they cordoned off the garage where the body was found that Denton thought was Carly Kirk - but it wasn’t as she ran off and escaped

viques · 22/03/2021 11:07

@storminabuttercup

Was Ryan the officer in the flat opposite doing the observations?
No , Ryan was still a member of the OCG at that point, so he was in the flat opposite the nightclub because that was the flat the OCG had cuckooed. The missing freezer was there, still with bits of Jackie inside.
Furries · 22/03/2021 11:16

And given that rolling headline, this means there could be at least 3 more people to uncover as part of the “H” network.

TheSpottedZebra · 22/03/2021 11:24

I LOVE this thread already. Whoever said upthread that Owen Teale will be back, I suspect so too.

In the Easter Egg thing, the letter about AC12 is signed by Osbourne, who was played by... Owen Teale.

TheSpottedZebra · 22/03/2021 11:26

But poor Dot died before he tapped out 6 dots? Or the dots were just the twitches of a dying man and therefore mean nothing?

(I hate that morse code clue. Too unreliable.)

storminabuttercup · 22/03/2021 11:33

@viques sorry I meant right a the beginning of yesterday's episode

VienneseWhirligig · 22/03/2021 11:36

DS and I have narrowed our H accusations to the following:

Buckells - always around when something dodgy is going down but never seems to get his hands dirty

Osborne- mainly based on the fact I disliked him in s1 and he has to be back for a reason

Roisin - dark horse candidate but a constant background character

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 22/03/2021 11:42

Buckells was involved in the surveillance of the flat they arrested Terry at not being properly authorised. He delayed the authorisation and Jo then delayed the arrival of the armed convoy based on something she could barely have seen let alone anything else. He bawled Jo out over the surveillance operation, which suggests to me he had more riding on it than the procedure not being correctly followed.

I see what you mean, yes that could be him! I have checked the cast list on IMDb and Ryan isn’t listed, but then nor are a lot of other non speaking characters, so that means nothing. I wouldn’t put it past them.

TalkToTheWind · 22/03/2021 12:13

Going to throw this in...

Kate has never been accused of being H.....

Pomegranatespompom · 22/03/2021 12:33

The shooting outside the shop seemed a bit quick, possible involvement from the shooter??

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/03/2021 12:37

Remember in S5 Terry said that he has a poor memory so he takes photos? That was how OCG identified Steve.

I bet Terry has a lot more photos.

Buggerthebotox · 22/03/2021 12:41

Steve has passed his Inspector exams though? I'm trying to think when that was - before or after he was thrown down the stairs? Or have I imagined it (I seem to remember something about Kate passing the exam and being told by Ted that Steve woujd be promoted before her due to her "lack of experience".

So lots of promotions but not Steve. Probably a number of reasons.

drspouse · 22/03/2021 12:44

Steve is going to end up with a stomach ulcer instead of a back ache with all that ibuprofen and codeine.

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/03/2021 12:55

Exactly what I was thinking drspouse!

I'm just waiting for the dramatic haematemesis now.
