I saw a trailer for this the other evening but DC were running around and being loud so I missed most of it. Does anyone know when it’s starting please? I don’t want to miss it as it’s brilliant!

The victim wasn't the driver.
When they looked at the timings Cassie said that presumably the victim was already dead and in the car boot when they were stopped by the police.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/02/2021 20:05

Surely if the car was laden down with five adults and a dead body in the boot, the cops would have done more than just book the driver for speeding?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/02/2021 20:10

Obvs I'm not suggesting that they knew there was a dead body in there but the car would have looked laden down.

The guy who died (not the victim) was quite young? 50 ish is no age. Can anyone recall what he died of?

Clawdy · 25/02/2021 22:15

Just read the Guardian recap - it was a real help!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/02/2021 07:09

Pleasure @Clawdy

You know I love a recap 😂

CherryValanc · 26/02/2021 07:46

@FawnDrench

It's all to do with the pens!! I noticed 2 close-ups of them -one when the chap signed the card to his mother, and the other when the woman therapist wrote something. I'm sure they were the same type.

Of course they could just be the pens the police cadets were all given on finishing at Hendon.

Nonsense I know, but you never can tell with these things...

Also why did they leave the arms on the victim with the hugely identifying tattoo. The head and hands were absent so the killer(s) did that for a reason -but why leave the tattoo?

I noticed the pens too! (Because they were fountain pens, which aren't used that much anymore.)

Though I'm sure it was a Mother's day card and he wrote "Dad" inside and then addressed to a Mary Something

(I can't rewind to check)

CherryValanc · 26/02/2021 08:14

Meant to have said there was a lot of references to mums (as well as pens) wasn't there:

Susan Lynch with a tyrant mum, she has an obligation to caring for her which her fiance doesn't support.

Dodgy Parking Man with pregnant wife who visited his mum who adores him (his dad didn't seem too keen)

Therapist mention she had bad relationship with her mum and then there was the comments about mother's day and her husband's children.

Dodgy business man writing the mother's day card in a weirdly secret way.

Also, does Susan Lynch aged? She looks the same as I recall her in Cracker!

FawnDrench · 26/02/2021 11:01

@CherryValanc yes it was a Mother's Day card.
To someone with a different surname to him according to Digital Spy where there is forensic detail and speculation about these things.

They've even got the pictures of the pens on there, (and all the opening credit shots) and it shows that the 2 pens are slightly different.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 26/02/2021 16:42

Am I right in thinking that child abuse is a recurring theme in the plots of the previous three seasons?

BentBastard · 26/02/2021 17:12

Season two yes, not particularly season one and I don't remember it being a theme in season three. Although my memory may be failing me.

unique1986 · 28/02/2021 19:29

Just catching up on this.
I admit I haven't watched all the series just bits here and there.
But I'm just not loving it? I'm sure I may be the only one that thinks this?
Kinda boring and one note at times.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/02/2021 19:54

I love the whole series

You need to watch it w

Get to know the characters

BooseysMom · 01/03/2021 05:48

This is ridiculous...I can't remember hardly any of this now!! I'm blaming peri menopause! I will have to re-watch it..

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/03/2021 09:29

I R.E.M. all the mum stuff

But not sure if anything to do with the story

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/03/2021 20:00

Tonight’s

Cassie and sunny identify the 4 suspects who trained as police and two are still serving 🙀🙀🙀🙀

So who do we think are the two

Not susan lynch

So man with sn son

And

Violetroselily · 01/03/2021 21:06

Can't be man with SN son can it? We saw him in his office last week?

Violetroselily · 01/03/2021 21:08

Ooooh Susan Lynch looking relatively senior in that uniform

viques · 01/03/2021 21:18

I assume they are searching for the missing bits of the body. Don’t they have cadaver dogs for that sort of thing?

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/03/2021 21:24

Bits? Thoight only head. Is there more missing

viques · 01/03/2021 21:24

Have to say how great it is to see Sheila Hancock in this, always been a favourite of mine.

lazymum99 · 01/03/2021 21:25

Hands were cut off too

viques · 01/03/2021 21:25

@Blondeshavemorefun

Hands are gone too.
Blondeshavemorefun · 01/03/2021 21:30

Ah missed that. Till they said about hands

And susan is a copper

BentBastard · 01/03/2021 21:32

Halfway through the episode and I don't really feel we've moved forward at all.

Perhaps I'm used to binging so my pacing head is off.

margoyuwer · 01/03/2021 21:51

I haven't trusted Cassies partner since he first appeared last series
