It’s cold, dark and there’s a pandemic but one bright light is the new series of drag race tomorrow. The last series was so joyful and really put British drag back on the map. I hope this series is just as good

Can someone tell me the difference between drag and black face? Why is it acceptable to pantomime women but not black people?

Quite shocked at who went tonight’s I had her down as a potential winner. I’d have had Tayce and Tia Kofe in the bottom two, with either going.

I enjoyed the episode tonight, I thought the winner was well deserved, but that their partner didn't belong in the bottom half, but I get how that's how the game tonight was, they had no negative feedback at all for her! I'm a massive fan of both those queens though and thought both the outfits were stunning!

I think it was a 'shock' elimination, as that queen had previously done well. But her look was basic and while it was better sewn, her make up and body presentation wasn't good. Did she deserve to be in the bottom 2?

I'm not actually sure. The other 2 queens outfits in the bottom 3 were awful, worse than the eliminated queen imo, but I preferred the saved queens lipsync.

This one is for people who actually like the programme.

I can’t believe so many women (assuming most posters are female) age happy to absorb this stuff and pretend it’s some kind of art form. It’s misogyny even if those participating really like women and are kind to their mums. People don’t always understand the role they play in perpetuating sexist tropes and attitudes that harm women. All women.

On the basis of that outfit, yes. It just wasn’t anything...well, I was going to say anything special but it just wasn’t anything at all. I mean spine skirt showed off her amazing legs but that was about it as far as USPs go.

Ellie Diamond didn’t belong in the bottoms either. I was surprised Sister Sister was in the tops because I really didn’t like that outfit. Ginny Lemon’s might not have been anything spectacular but SS’s was a mess and Ginny pulled hers off (metaphorically!).

The person who went tonight really did not deserve to go, I really feel like she had so much potential.
I also think Joe should have stayed in Week 1, I feel like the genuine talent is waning very quickly.

There are lots of lovely people, but that's not the competition. I want to see FABULOUS and tbh I can't see too many who can bring that atm. Maybe they will flourish in the coming weeks.

I was so pleased that my beloved Tia Kofi survived. Although when I saw who she was up against, I knew that she’d chante. The comedy queens always win through, and always over the ‘body’ queens and pageant girls. There is no way Ru was getting rid of Tia before snatch game because she’s this season’s Baga Chipz.

Sister Sister, Ginny, Ellie and Bimini are on borrowed time, I reckon.

Genuinely think that the right person went tonight, despite her being my favourite. She didn't perform as well in the lip sync and her outfit was very plain.

Snatch game is my favourite round. Think the eventual winner always does well here.

Yes, Joe should have stayed week one - think they would have done a good job of a slower lipsync, like Memory, last week. I bloody love Dua Lipa - DD, DS and I nailed it I tell ya! Loved the limbo mini-challenge - would have failed that one entirely.

Which just serves to remind us that despite the de-railers opinions, drag is about performative gender, across the whole spectrum. Ginny is drag because drag isn't about sexualisation or sexuality - femininity comes in many forms. The Viv's Trump was drag because it was a performance of (toxic) masculinity. When Ana Matronic used to be a Faux Queen, that was drag because she was performing a style of femininity that wasn't her ordinary style.

I agree with Ru - we are all born naked, the rest is drag. When I go out for a night, I definitely drag up. I perform a certain look, which I don't have on here now without an "audience". Tomorrow I will dress differently than I did today, because tomorrow I have Zoom meetings. I like to play with fashion and makeup, I have used a different name before, I like to try on different identities and for men this has always been off limits (the acceprable parameters of what a man looks like are very narrow when you think about it), except for those who have embraced theatre or drag.

So I was shocked by who went home, I was convinced she would smash the lip-sync - she certainly bragged enough times that she would! However, I was really rooting for Tia particularly after Awhora's nastiness. I do love a good twist, and I wasn't expecting Ru Paul to make that decision but thrilled for Tia.

I did feel sad for Asstina - she is utterly stunning. I want her to teach me how to apply makeup because she looked flawless.

We can see this thread is being repeatedly derailed, which feels a little unfair on the OP and those who just want to discuss the TV show.

We understand that drag is something that is divisive and many people do find offensive, and we're very happy to host discussions about the merits and demerits of drag, but we don't think it's fair to derail a fan thread. We'd really appreciate it if we could get the thread back on track now.

Just caught up and I thought the limbo was brilliant and I was hugely impressed! Can't wait for the snatch game.

I love Tia Kofi, she's hilarious and completely steals the scene with her talking heads. However I can see why the other queens are annoyed that she keeps getting a free pass. I agree with PP, they are definitely keeping her on for Snatch Game.

Going back to last week, I was sad that Cherry Valentine left so early - it can't be an easy life being both a traveller and a drag queen. Apparently she got lots of racist abuse on social media
